Volcano Roll minus the roe & eel

Ventured here for pick up on my way home. My order was ready when I arrived. Tonight I wanted to try the shrimp and broccoli and I'm glad I checked this off my list. Wasn't really feeling the shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp was too salty. Tasted like they were fried in burnt chicken grease and the brown sauce took that flavor too...ehhhh I wouldn't order this again. However the VOLCANO ROLL was just like I remembered. Spring rolls still hot when I got home and the sauce they serve with it...chef kiss!! I also got an order of the onion soup & some crispy beef for my boo. So good! Happy Yelping!

I have to fair - our server was the best. Thank you. She was great. The food was ehh. We looked up a good place to eat, and have a conversation. The Bar side was too loud - the music was too much. We were seated in a side area but still was subject to the loud music. The miso soup was good. So was the onion soup. The steak was dry, over cooked and no taste.

The shrimp fried rice (broccoli added ) topped things off... they make really nice drinks (you can taste what you paid for ! )

This was my first time at this Grace's location, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The atmosphere was vibrant and not over booked ( like the Harbor location) The service was on point and very friendly. And the food was delicious and served to perfection ! ( the crab Rangoon appetizer set the stage for a super cool meal and evening ! ) This is my go-to Grace's moving forward !!!

Food was great and it's really cute inside. Our party came in 30 mins before closing and they were still polite and received our food FAST!!! I will definitely be back!

So....... I moved from Bowie to Baltimore and my realtor was having a toy drive here at Grace's (in Bowie). I saw it as an opportunity to give back while revisiting my old hood! Let me say that each visit to Grace's offers a different experience. And this was a good one. My realtor reserved a space by the bar where they had a Christmas tree set up. The unwrapped gifts were all place under the tree while we socialized, ate & drank. The staff was very accommodating! When you walk into the restaurant and head towards the back, the bar area with tables, the bar and lounge tables are on the left. They have hibachi towards the very back and regular tables are on the right. We collected toys to be donated to Safe Shores, ate and had a good time. This was the first time I had the volcano roll. Where have I been. It was so tasty! And.... now that I think about it, it actually looks like a mini volcano. Their lemon pepper chicken was crispy, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. Their sushi is very fresh. Oh........ and we had the Kentucky mule that was delicious! You could taste the bourbon and ginger beer; a subtle mix that was perfect. I'm liking Grace's more & more each visit!

    Chow mein! Where's the noodles?

I feel that the level of service and food quality do not justify the high prices especially compared to the old Grace's Fortune from the early 2000s. Walking in I noticed some of the old artifacts from their original location. Also you immediately notice the cigar smell as you enter. Apparently they are also a cigar lounge too. Maybe because it's an Asian fusion restaurant having an identity crisis and not a Chinese restaurant they do not bring you a complimentary pot of tea. Perusing the menu I noticed sushi, pad Thai and Chinese American dishes like General Tso, and French fries. What was really outrageous was the $12 charge for a veggie spring roll. I decided to play it safe with combo chow mein. Now chow mein is supposed to be noodles with a brown sauce made of oyster sauce. Not this place- you get rice and a really bland watery sauce that is transparent. My friend who is not big eater ordered the fries which were average and not fresh cut. Overall I am not impressed and would not return.

Came here to meet a friend for drinks. We sat a a high top table. We had to ask a staffer to clean the table off. He gave us menus, then we sat for quite some time before someone came to take our orders. We promptly received our drinks. We ordered Prosecco, which came in a mini bottle and the green dragon mixed drink. The green dragon was way too strong for me to drink. I asked for some pineapple juice to cut the liquor. I still wasn't able to finish the drink. I also ordered shrimp pad Thai which was great but need a little more fish sauce. Overall I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Came here for a large group early dinner, first time dinning at this establishment. They do have a large party room which requires a deposit. The menu is very overwhelming and has a lot of options. Our waitress was very nice and patience, but visibly overwhelmed she was handling a large party of 23 people. She only had assistance when the food came out, which wasn't fair to here. First time eating at a restaurant that serves food on a platter like plate, lol kinda odd - guess it's for portion control but it's easier to mix your food (if desired) on an actual plate. They also charge an extra $4 for fried rice which is excessive because the portion size is small. Also, first time having hibachi with fried peppers, very different.

Raising them included regular sushi lunch dates. Today was a typical sushi lunch date with just my eldest son. We have 2 favorite restaurants in Baltimore but seriously looking for a spot more local/convenient for us. This was the first place we attempted and it was an unequivocal NOOOOO. HOWWW are they still open? WHYYY hasn't the health department shut this place down? The entrance is shoddy. The amount of JUNK stored haphazardly is diabolical. The absence of clean, uncluttered seating is unnerving. The location is confusing. The signage is laughable. EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT. Place looks deserted. Have to order at the entrance. Menu looks typical. Interesting that on the sushi menus the quantity numbers have been reduced with a marker. Boxes with tableware and serving ware stacked on tables. No hot tea or hot drinks of any kind. Bottled Water and drinks from a cooler by the register. Ordered sushi/sashimi combo. Arrived served in a plastic tray like grocery store sushi. I was offered a plate. All pieces seem of uniformly cold like premade and kept in a cooler. Ginger and shredded radish the same. Fish was flavorless. Shrimp was flat with no taste. Rice wrap on the roll was dry. Rating the food a 2 would be generous. Ambiance maybe a three. Dirty floor, chipped paint, and Cannot speak to other menu items and don't think I will be back to find out. Disappointed as there are not many places in the area with table service and with Asian food. Not a great dining experience.

In the door the place was clean and well lit. Our server was attentive to us in the very beginning b I t did decline. Menu choices to me were a little odd to include everything is ala carte, you dont even get rice with a meal. We were a party of 8 so we all ordered something different. For me the food lacked flavor and the fried beef was like eatting beef Jerry. We had some children with us who dont eat with chop sticks and getting regular utensils seemed difficult. Our server filled our waters in the beginning but that was it, after that finding her for anything was not happening. Finally, they attached a automatic gratuity which i have an issue with, I am a great tipper but if service sucks then it should be my decision on how much to tip.

The menu has shrunk significantly and what's left doesn't justify the price point. $20 for deviled eggs? And nearly everything is paired with grits, which is interesting for a restaurant billing itself as African and Asian fusion. I brought a Nigerian friend along and we were both equally confused by that creative direction. Safe to say grits aren't exactly a staple. We were told about off-menu options tomahawk, ribeye (out of stock), and branzino. We went with the branzino and a potato hash that turned out to be exactly what it sounds like: cut up potatoes and what tasted like powdered eggs straight from a hotel breakfast buffet. The branzino needed salt, pepper AND hot sauce to get there, that's not a seasoning preference.. The ambience and decor remain the highlight genuinely a beautiful space. But a pretty room can only carry so much. I wanted to love this place. I really did. But I don't think a third visit is in the cards.
