I've visited this location twice, and this most recent visit was as a party of two. We were seated immediately, and the restaurant is very spacious with plenty of seating, including hibachi tables. We chose a regular table for our meal. I started with the cucumber roll as an appetizer, which came out quickly and was fresh. For our main course, we shared the Crispy Fragrant Salt & Pepper Whole Fish. It was served with rice and broccoli and was a very large portion, definitely meant for sharing. The fish itself was really flavorful and well-prepared--I would order it again. One thing to note is that gratuity is automatically added to all dine-in checks regardless of party size. read more

They have a hibachi side for dining and they also have outdoor seating connected to the bar area. I ordered a lemon drop martini from a lady bartender which I didn't really feel, seemed weak in my opinion. My bartender took a break and I got a new bartender which was a guy and that's when the drinks started to get good. I really enjoyed this night. The music was the highlight for me. read more

Ventured here for pick up on my way home. My order was ready when I arrived. Tonight I wanted to try the shrimp and broccoli and I'm glad I checked this off my list. Wasn't really feeling the shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp was too salty. Tasted like they were fried in burnt chicken grease and the brown sauce took that flavor too...ehhhh I wouldn't order this again. However the VOLCANO ROLL was just like I remembered. I love Graces Steak & Seafood. The food is very good and so is the service. It is not as good as the old Grace's Fortune in Bowie but the menu is more expensive. Unfortunately the lost some of my old favorites from the previous restaurant. They have a wonderful (and expensive) take on the crab cake. The crab fried rice is excellent as well. The hibachi dine in is a fun show with good food. The ambiance is nice with a couple of different sections - hibachi is on one area. Overall I really like Grace's and I dine there or get take out a few times a year. It isn't as fancy as the location in National Harbor, but it's about as upscale as you'll find in Lanham even though the exterior is rather nondescript in the rather ordinary step mall setting. read more

Did not know they allowed dogs in the dining room. We ate here last night and a large group set across from us and had a small dog at their table that was barking. This dog was not a service dog! I came here for lunch and it was quiet since the restaurant was just opening. The waiter was very nice and she greeted me. I sat down and she brought out a salad with ginger dressing which was pretty good. I ordered the general tso shrimp with fried rice. The general tso shrimp was crispy but I wish it was more sweet and the sauce on it was thicker. And the fried rice was tasty. I also felt like the portion of shrimp wasn't enough because I was given 4-5 pieces. The environment was nice and pretty calm. Not too crowded. For those who remember Grace's flagship is Grace's Fortune. It was a mainstay for families and the community for many years. I miss that restaurant for so many reasons. The quality was superb, including seeing Grace herself and her beautiful smile welcoming everyone at the door. Her Sunday brunch had a waitlist and line out the door, often making Sakura next door a tempting close second if you were tight on time... And then came Grace's Mandarin (National Harbor) and Grace's Steak and Seafood (Vista Gardens). My visit at the Vista Gardens restaurant left me feeling perplexed. Perhaps her lack of physical presence speaks for how the business is now managed. While the service I received was acceptable, something felt missed here. Food quality was bit underwhelming, portion and presentation were lacking. An order of 2 soups, 1 appetizer, and 1 noodle dish came up $58.80 before taxes. So when a friend recommended Grace's, I had zero doubt this would be a great spot as my friend is very much into good tasting food as I. As often as I travel in and around this area, I never knew this place existed and now I'm glad I found it. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and the panyang curry with vegetables to go. My wait time was, about 10 minutes, not bad as I was totally expecting a longer wait time. The shrimp spring rolls came in half a dozen two inch sizes and they were super delicious. Nice and crunchy with actual shrimp...nice. The panyang curry with vegetables was really a surprise to me because I find it hard to find vegetable dishes where the vegetable are cooked until they are too soggy to enjoy however, the curry had a delicious aroma and a wonder taste and the veggies were nice a crunchy and well sauteed...I do mean vegetables...carrots, snow peas, broccoli, mushroom and string beans. So....... I moved from Bowie to Baltimore and my realtor was having a toy drive here at Grace's (in Bowie). I saw it as an opportunity to give back while revisiting my old hood! Let me say that each visit to Grace's offers a different experience. And this was a good one. My realtor reserved a space by the bar where they had a Christmas tree set up. The unwrapped gifts were all place under the tree while we socialized, ate & drank. The staff was very accommodating! When you walk into the restaurant and head towards the back, the bar area with tables, the bar and lounge tables are on the left. They have hibachi towards the very back and regular tables are on the right. We collected toys to be donated to Safe Shores, ate and had a good time. This was the first time I had the volcano roll. Where have I been. It was so tasty! And.... now that I think about it, it actually looks like a mini volcano. Their lemon pepper chicken was crispy, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. Their sushi is very fresh. Oh........ and we had the Kentucky mule that was delicious! You could taste the bourbon and ginger beer; a subtle mix that was perfect. I feel that the level of service and food quality do not justify the high prices especially compared to the old Grace's Fortune from the early 2000s. Walking in I noticed some of the old artifacts from their original location. Also you immediately notice the cigar smell as you enter. Apparently they are also a cigar lounge too. Maybe because it's an Asian fusion restaurant having an identity crisis and not a Chinese restaurant they do not bring you a complimentary pot of tea. Perusing the menu I noticed sushi, pad Thai and Chinese American dishes like General Tso, and French fries. What was really outrageous was the $12 charge for a veggie spring roll. I decided to play it safe with combo chow mein. Now chow mein is supposed to be noodles with a brown sauce made of oyster sauce. Not this place- you get rice and a really bland watery sauce that is transparent. My friend who is not big eater ordered the fries which were average and not fresh cut. Came here to meet a friend for drinks. We sat a a high top table. We had to ask a staffer to clean the table off. He gave us menus, then we sat for quite some time before someone came to take our orders. We promptly received our drinks. We ordered Prosecco, which came in a mini bottle and the green dragon mixed drink. The green dragon was way too strong for me to drink. I asked for some pineapple juice to cut the liquor. Came here for a large group early dinner, first time dinning at this establishment. They do have a large party room which requires a deposit. The menu is very overwhelming and has a lot of options. Our waitress was very nice and patience, but visibly overwhelmed she was handling a large party of 23 people. She only had assistance when the food came out, which wasn't fair to here. First time eating at a restaurant that serves food on a platter like plate, lol kinda odd - guess it's for portion control but it's easier to mix your food (if desired) on an actual plate. I thought I had rediscovered the dish since moving to a new state. Tempura and the Sweet and Sour Pork were delicious and served with ample condiments. All was delivered nicely packed and still hot! The most expensive sushi (outside of the high end caviar topped stuff at some DC establishments). But i was curious... and damn was it good. Finally went to Grace's with my mother and sisters for dinner. I always go to the Panera and Shoppers in the shopping center and decided to give this place a try. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. They were extremely helpful in accommodating my sister that's wheelchair bound, which can be tedious at some establishments. For them it was no big deal. They directed us up the ramps to the second level with ease. 10-stars for that alone. I loved the dim lighting in the place and the decor. Wanted to take one of the pretty vases. Food portions were perfect. We're a big family so we all ordered a bit of everything and shared. A few tips for the staff though: give water automatically without having to be asked, especially if alcoholic beverages are ordered. read more

The shrimp fried rice did not have many shrimps in the dish. The lomein dish was basically a container full of vegetables with a little bit of lomein. The entire order was approximately $42.00. My date ordered a dish with broccoli (actually more than half his plate was covered in broccoli). I swear our food came out in less than 5 minutes - guess they just zapped it the microwave! Sigh...maybe we should have taken that drive to the Harbor. The food just tasted ok - not as great as I remember! I felt we were being rushed out. We were seated right away when we arrived. The business is located in a shopping plaza with other other businesses and plenty of parking. The restaurant is spacious had a TV near the bar with seats. Good music was playing in the background and the restaurant was decorated very elegantly with an Asian theme. There is a private dining area for things like birthday celebrations. The waitresses wore pretty Asian dresses. Our waitress was nice but did not speak much. She was pleasant and smiled a lot. She brought out our drinks right away but took a while before she came back & took our food order. It did not take too long for the appetizers to be brought out after we placed our orders. The food was brought out a short time later. Everting was plated beautifully. Large portions were provided. I got the general tso's chicken with a fried rice upgrade. If you don't want plain rice you will have to pay $4 extra for the fried rice. The food was really good, fresh, and was served warm. The peppers and onions that were served with the chicken and rice were huge. I did not eat them. Broccoli was also provided with the meal. There was definitely enough food to take leftovers home. The total price for this meal with the added gratuity and tax was almost $35. If you have parties of five or more they add an 18% gratuity. The menu advised that they do not split checks but our waitress did separate them for us. During the meal our waitress kept our water glasses filled with lukewarm water. My husband & I visited on a Monday night! We had a taste for Hibachi. The drinks were great, however they charge $4 extra for fried rice. At most places fried rice is included. In addition, we didn't like the fact that they pre-cut the veggies and mixed them all together before hand. My husband doesn't care for onions, so it was no way to remove the onions, until after they gave him his portion of veggies! This is something to keep in mind before visiting. The price for hibachi ranges from $28 - $45 dollars not including the $4 up-charge for fried rice! Other Hibachi restaurants have better quality food and more reasonable prices IMO. read more

The hostess was pleasant but the service at the bar was slow and slightly rude (i.e., I sat down and wasn't greeted by the bartender right in front of me for what felt like too long). I'm almost confused on what is customary at places like this. I typically always tip the cooks but I've noticed on the East it's not required and/or tip jars are not seen. They do charge for groups. Their drinks are not watered down! Lord, hold your tail! Phew! I always pick the filet over a regular steak. It's a softer, better quality and cut. Love it! You'll have left overs. If you don't, you're hungry! I would recommend spring rolls but there is so much food that it may be best to just order your dinner. The dinner comes with soup and salad.
