I had a taste for soup and decided to order takeout at the Golden Bowl. I ordered the hot and sour soup, large. I also ordered the fried chicken wings, the five piece. The customer service over the phone was excellent and pick up was super easy. The location is in a large plaza parking lot so parking is ample. The inside was a bit undesirable as it looks like they are either under renovations or moving. Please don't plan to eat in because you cannot. However, the pick up process for carry out orders were seamless and quick. Overall, the food was excellent and cooked to order. I will return. read more

Chicken with Garlic Sauce - The sauce was tasty and not greasy. Paid attention to special instruction notes which I appreciated. The fried rice was undercooked /crunchy and the eggroll had only cabbage as filling (no protein) so it was pretty bland. I went with the beef and broccoli lo mein and it was pretty good. I had to add a little more soy sauce but it was good. The hot chili oil was SPICY and I truly enjoyed it!!! I love anything spicy!!! The boneless ribs were tough but there were a lot of them and the sauce on the bottom made'em much better. A regional thing about Largo area crispy wontons. They aren't crispy! The chicken was rubbery and gross texture. I was afraid it was raw when I first bit in, the texture was so off. Disgusting. This restaurant has a limited selection of American add-pjs at most take out places but the Chinese food is great. My go to dishes are Singapore Mei Fun (Singapore Rice noodles) or Hunan Shrimp. We ordered delivery via DoorDash, so I can't say anything about the in-person experience. The food was still very hot by the time it got to us, which was great! Our order was for the following: 1) Sesame Chicken 2) Steamed Dumplings 3) Wonton Egg Drop Mixed Soup 1) The sesame chicken was okay. The texture was good, and the sauce was fine, but there could've been more seasoning for flavor. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't anything special. It reminded me of grocery store Chinese food frozen meals you can get. The white rice was perfect. The fried rice was pretty good, too. 2) The steamed dumplings were HUGE, and the filling was okay, but it seemed like a lot of the dumpling was dough. The supplied dumpling sauce was good. 3) The soup was my favorite part of the meal. Mixing egg drop and wonton soups seemed revolutionary to me, and it was perfect for fulfilling my comfort food craving. I added some salt, though, because it definitely needed it. Overall, the food was fine. Nothing was BAD, but nothing stood out as exceptionally good, either. First three times I've ordered from here, the food was great. Only issue early on was that the lo mein may have been made with peanut oil or something because my wife couldn't eat it. We realized it was on us, though, for not sharing her allergy. The last two times though--the general tso chicken tasted old as if it may have been leftover from the prior day. We are visiting from Va and staying at a local hotel. We drove out of the way because this was the best rated Chinese restaurant on yelp. Was it worth it? Aahhh... Pros- The restaurant was empty when we walked in and we placed our order quick. She said 15-20 mins so we went next door to buy some soda for dinner. It was done when we got back, so cooked quickly. The chicken was crispy under the sauce though so that was good. Cons- I ordered General Tos Chicken. It tasted more like it was covered in spicy ketchup. The egg rolls I think were pure cabbage. I have never had a white egg roll, no taste at all. The donuts we ordered were quite hard as well. The lunch buffet might be great but I don't really see us ordering from there again. Definitely will try more items on the menu that's far I've tried the ribs shrimp, fried rice, egg foo yong egg drop soup and they've all been great. I have no clue how this place received any stars. They obviously have someone adding reviews! We spent $50 on tasteless crap. For our pepper steak, the beef tasted like fried mashed liver. The hot and sour soup had no flavor and had a tanted with consistency. The orange chicken was obviously old. It was soggy and tasted watered down. There was barely any filling other than cabbage in the eggrolls. The shrimp egg foo young was ok, the gravy was a bit watered down too. There is currently only carry out available and they could get more business if the place looked better and had in restaurant dining.
