There is clearly no measuring happening when they are cooking with the soy sauce.I took two bites before I took it to go because I don't send food back.So over all the egg rolls were really really good. The lo mein noodle and the fried rice were extremely salty. Also a better system is needed for your to-go order seems a bit chaotic you need an area for people to wait . This place is such a hidden Gem, in a parking lot strip plaza that is The epitome of don't judge a book by its cover. The decor is nice, simple and cool vibe. I've been saying to try this place for soooo long. Went on a Saturday and planned to dine in but the air conditioning was broken :( I ordered the honey garlic chicken with fried rice instead of white rice. The entree was seasoned very well and battered perfectly. The owner confirmed that all chicken dishes use white meat only, which is a plus for me. The fried was rice was just okay, but there was tons of it. I ate of off one container for at least three days. I sampled the monster steak and cheese egg roll and it was delicious! Most of the tables were full but there was one left just for us...guess it was meant to be...lol We were welcomed with a basket of doughnuts which really would've been a perfect dessert with a nice cup of coffee or tea! I had half of 1 and these were the highlight of the evening. lol Anyhoo- for starters I ordered a shrimp roll and my lil boo ordered the monster roll. For her entree she went with a shrimp basket which came with fries and I ordered the shrimp and broccoli. Everything pretty much came out at once lol expect my shrimp and broccoli. So I had that boxed to go. After eating half of my shrimp roll I was full anyway so it worked out. The mocktail was a bit tooooooo sweet for me. The shrimp roll was delicious...it could've use more shrimp and if they could make the sauce GRACES use for their spring rolls I would come back JUST for that! My husband ended up having my meal when he got off last night so it worked out perfectly. Hahaaa!! Visited here and would agree with the FB promotion that food is very good. We ordered the mighty shrimp egg roll, Soulwok wings, and the Singapore noodles minus beef plus extra vegetables, and Dragon and Phoenix which is Orange chicken and sweet and chili shrimp. The egg roll is like a meal by itself; skin was crispy and egg roll stuffed will all the goodness on a shrimp egg roll 7/10. The Soulwok wings were hot, fresh, and flavorful! The sauce was sweet and savory, and crispy 9/10. The Singapore noodles was a large portion, flavorful, and good 7/10. Lastly, the Dragon and Phoenix are two staple Chinese dishes married on one dish; Orange chicken and sweet chili shrimp. Chicken was tender, fresh and delicious 8/10. I would love to see a pair with General Tso chicken and the shrimp dish. The portions are shareable unless you are just hungry and have on stretchy pants. The service was very friendly and very fast, they didn't give us the hot towel for our hands which is no biggie but I was kinda looking forward to it. Traditional Chinese food with some soulllll! What a concept. My family and I enjoyed our food here. Some of the items that stood out were the wonton soup, wings and egg rolls. The food comes out piping hot and fresh. They are definitely doing a great job with preparing the foods. Flavors are on point. Everything that we had tasted great! We decided to dine in on a weekday. They were quite busy and there was a wait. Our server eventually got to us and apologized for the extended wait and made sure that our experience was one point from then on. We started with warm hands towels that were infused with essential oil. That was an unexpected touch. The other entrée was the Singapore noodles without beef or shrimp. She thoroughly enjoyed the Singapore noodles, and I loved them as well. I think I liked that entrée more than mine, but I wasn't in the mood for that item. The Dragon & Phoenix is very tasty, but the shrimp and broccoli was a bit too saucy for me. The General Tso's chicken is so on point, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with great flavor. The fried rice was flavorful as well. We also received a basket of the donuts which were good too. Overall, this visit was much better than expected. I know to be cautious about places that get a lot of reviews on social media, but I must say that this meant the hype. The interior is like a standard no-frills carry out, but I see that they tried to have a few touches to make it a bit more upscale with the table lighting and hand towels, etc.. Decided to give Soul Wok a try. The spot is in an area where you definitely want to stay alert , but once you step inside, the vibe changes. The decor is tasteful, clean, and everything feels organized. Prices are a little on the higher side for the neighborhood, but I get it. I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix solid dish, cooked well, and even held up nicely as leftovers the next day. For a drink, I went with the half and half. It was refreshing, though I think the lemonade mix could be a bit stronger. Overall, it's not a bad place at all. Just not sure if it fully lives up to the hype or if it's worth the trip every time. This was my second time ordering from Soul Wok. The first time, everything we ordered was perfect, so I was looking forward to ordering again. Unfortunately, this afternoon was not a good experience. We ordered two steak & cheese egg rolls, and both were extremely greasy, burnt, and hard. Please see the picture attached. I understand restaurants get busy, but the quality tonight was very disappointing. I also ordered the donuts, and they were missing the strawberry puree. Also, they should have a shrimp cheesesteak roll (without meat for non-carnivores), that would be so good. I had high expectations but sad ending. SHRIMP N BROCCOLI $18 I love shrimp and broccoli but honestly this didn't meet my expectations. The sauce has a jelly like brown texture and I was told it was fine.
