It was overpriced, already made pottery for you to paint. Although it was overpriced, I will say it was very therapeutic and we enjoyed ourselves. We returned again in 2024, but this time for a homeschool pottery class. I absolutely love that they have planned days for homeschoolers to come in and create different projects. The pricing for that was better and again the kids enjoyed themselves.. The owner and other ladies were kind during both of our interactions. I recommend visiting this place solo or with a group for some therapeutic fun. Recommended

There were great options to choose from to paint and they have some other activities as well. Jessica was the lovely lady who helped us and gave great information and instructions. They had a lot of different tools and techniques that I hadn't seen before. I also really appreciated that they encouraged us to take the bottles of paint needed to our table. A previous place I had gone to, filled our palettes for us and told us to ask for more if needed which was very frequent and difficult when it was busy. Anyways, we got our mugs and our paint and began to art! We had a great time and felt no pressure to get finished quickly. I am looking forward to seeing our finished prod

You choose your colors, sit down and go to town! They fire it up and it takes up to a week to be able to pick up. We are still awaiting the final products but we had a lot of fun painting them! It was a bit pricy bc you pay for the piece as well as the studio fee so we paid close to $60 for the 2 pieces we painted but it was a special occasion so worth it :)

Lazy Daisy staff was helpful, patient, and kind! Party room was spacious and cheery, and not fancy, so no worries about what young kids might do in the space. Plenty of tables and chairs for a group of 10 kids plus parents--had two sets of tables so we could do ceramics on one, have extra activities (paper crowns to decorate, coloring pads, blank cards, fossil excavation kit) on the other for those who finished painting early, and then could have cake at the first table once the ceramics were cleared away. They let us store our ice cream cake from Kirt's in their freezer till it was time, and even helped us find plates and forks, which we forgot to pack. (Fortunately there is a nearby gas station with sundries.) They are a small business, so cash/check is preferred (wish I had remembered to bring a checkbook). We did a "test run" painting some small items in the drop-in studio with the two birthday celebrants a week before the party, which worked well so they felt familiar with the venue and activity--if you can manage it I'd recommend that too. In theory the room can handle up to 50, but I'd say our group of ~25 was perfect for the space. Would warmly recommend this place to any parents seeking alternatives to Little Gym, Carver Rec, and Discovery Museum birthday parties for this age group!

I last-minute booked us at a surprisingly charming bed and breakfast, and my husband, being the man he is, and demonstrating the reason we're still married, scouted the town and lighted upon this establishment to further our wedded bliss. His plan: I pick a scenic photo, he picks a scenic photo, then we paint one another's selection as a gift. He practically had to drag me there. I know. I'm a jerk, and I do not deserve him. But I've been to these paint-and-take places before, and the thought of going back felt like a waste of time. Wrong! This place is rad! Quite simply put. It isn't your average painting pottery joint. We chose canvases, but there's so much more! Wanna spin the pottery you eventually paint? Wanna get crazy and melt some artsy glass together? Your host, Seth Rogen (I'm sorry, I forgot his name, but he is 100% related to Seth Rogen), will affably guide you through your creative experience, and offer you an adult beverage while you're at it! If you're visiting Harrisonburg, make this a stop. And if you live in Harrisonburg, you lucky ducks!

Basically you select a project, pay for it and then you stain, paint, etc. the project, which takes 2-3 hours depending on how complicated it is. They also offer classes that you can sign up for. For my project, I chose to make a wooden tray. I had to assemble the tray, stain it and then add the stencil to complete it. The final step is attaching handles. You end up with a custom shabby chic or whatever style you prefer, so it's really customizable. The cost of the tray is $85. I will definitely be back and I want to bring my daughter. Unlike painting pottery, you leave with your project and the satisfaction of having created something beautiful and unique to you.

It's a tad bit pricey but when you consider the cost of materials and the time you're spending there it works out. We made chunky knit blankets and were all in love with them at the end. It's fun to learn a new skill and hang out with friends while doing it. They serve drinks and you're allowed to bring food. We plan to host a private party here in the future. Kids (tweens/teens) would really enjoy this, too.
