My wife asked how much it would be to clean the drapes and the Mainz representative was pre-occupied working on a garment and says to my wife "I don't know". My wife was trying to communicate with her (the rep.) but she was being so rude my wife just said "give me my drapes, I'll take them to another cleaner. Please excuse this review, but honestly this grumpy Asian lady is rude I have been here multiple times & after today I will not return. I walked in 3 days asking to get 3 pairs of pants tailored along with one pair dry cleaned. She said very quickly ok grabbed my stuff and walked away. Today I return and she didn't even greet me , she just said "what" Seriously I am here to pick up my clothes . She goes digging through a basket and come to find out she didn't have them ready what a surprise. She came with 3 pairs (missing you) and I said very calm "ohh there was 4 pairs" before I could finish my sentence she said , "STOP I NOT STUPID" . Went in the back and grabed the other pair. Total price came out to $37.00 and the work was not done on time. So if you want to pay a high dollar amount in Manteca and receive bad customer service and be treated dumb while providing someone with your business then this is he place to come. Sad but true I haven't find a good place in Manteca yet , might just have to get my work done in Livermore where I work. If you ever need any tailoring or need anything of value cleaned, you have to come here! The people at Mainz cleaners are very good at what they do. I took in a few nice (expensive) jackets of the cotton and leather sort, and nothing was damaged! All my greasy hamburger and orange juice stains were gone, too! The turnaround was fast and the price was better than any other cleaners I've been to. I went there a second time to have some nice jeans tailored. The lady was hilarious and very friendly. She also did a great job on the jeans and it was only $10! Woohoo! It seems like they do a lot of other different cleaning and tailoring-related stuff. I saw wedding dresses, drapes, rugs, uniforms, tacky shirts from the 70's, and even a stuffed-animal elephant. I also found out that they're GREEN!!! I found this dry cleaner on the internet and it had the highest rating in the area so I tried it out today. I had a suit and 2 white dress shirts to be dry cleaned. When I picked up my suit, Young, the lady working told me she placed my suit into a special blue colored redwood smelling bag. The bag prevents moths from eating holes in my suit and will help the suit last for years in a closet. I thought that was a nice touch of customer service. I like the fact they do every thing there so the turn around on the cleaning is quick and reasonable. $10 for the suit and $2.50 for each shirt. I thought that was reasonable price. I thought the service was very good and friendly. They just gained a new customer in me. read more

Customer service is awesome and the place is cut and dry, but in this economy 4.50$ a shirt is a little pricey, my shirt came out fine no problems but with a price like that i cant go all the time. in a pinch i wont go here. other places give same results for anywhere from $1.50-$3.00 a shirt. thats where they should be. read more

This is my go to place for all our alterations and dry cleaning for the past year. And I don't see that changing. I agree, sometimes her prices are not consistent but I still go here anyway. Why? Because every single piece of clothing she's ever altered for me has lived through many heavy duty washes without a single string coming apart. I've tried other places and while they may be cheaper, it doesn't last as long. So I'll pay the slightly higher price to have a job done right and last. Plus, between the variations of high and low pricing she gives me, it evens out to still be slightly cheaper than other places. She does come off as difficult at first but if you can get through the first encounter with her, you'll realize that she's a very nice lady with amazing artistic talents as well as a green thumb. Ask her about her portraits she does of her grandchildren and she'll light up and show you her work behind the counter. Overall, I love this place. The price is decent, there's quality in her alterations, the place is easy to get to with easy parking, and I always leave with a smile. I also see a lot of other regulars in there and they're always smiling too. So despite the bad reviews on yelp, she must be doing something right to have loyal customers. :) read more

I paid $100 for 2 leather jackets dry cleaned. It sounded reasonable but it was not. The husband and wife told me $75 each and it would take a month because they had to send them out for service. I said: A month is a long time, then they said $50 each and it would be done in a week. I thought it's weird because i didn't argue about the price. I tried to figure out how it would turn out cheaper price in shorter time. I guessed they would try to do the job themselves, at least to make some money. I decided to help the business out knowing they might damage my jackets without the proper devices for the material. I read the reviews when i got home and still hoped for the best outcome. The jackets were on the hangers covered with clear plastic bags professionally but i was shocked and felt too disgusted to bring them back to complain when i took them out. They did nothing whatsoever to them. The jackets looked exactly dusty and dirty like when i dropped them off. They smelled terrible for being in tight air storage. I understand everyone suffers right now, especially in this global pandemic, but please do honest business and we can get through it together. I know hate is a strong word, but I REALLY hate the Asian lady. The boyfriend has been going to Mainz Cleaner for the past five years, getting his dress shirts & suits dry cleaned weekly. Whenever he does need to get something tailored, he'd even have her hem it or sew a button that fell off as well. Since summer was coming up, I needed some long dresses to be hemmed a bit so I could wear them w. flats. I asked my boyfriend if his dry cleaning place was good, & he said yes, he hasn't had a problem yet. So I take two dresses to her. I try each on. We agree at a length, & then she safety pins it at that length. She said she has a lot of alterations ahead of me, so it might be awhile. I wasn't in a rush, so I let her have three weeks until pick up. Three weeks come & go. The boyfriend comes back with his weekly pick up of his clothes, but this time, along w. my two dresses. He told me the dresses were $70, not including his usual pick up. I thought that was incredibly expensive to just hem two dresses. I honestly thought the dresses would be $20 each. My fault for not asking for prices first. I naively just trusted her since the boyfriend did. Anyhow. I was already getting ready for work, so I wasn't able to try them on right away. When I finally was able to, one dress was perfectly done, hits right above the ground as we agreed upon. The second, however, was so noticeably wrong. The front of the dress was perfect, hitting right above the ground, but the back was so high, showing the entire back of my ankle & feet. I thought maybe it was the straps, that they were adjusted too high. I readjust them, but nope, still higher in the back. It looked so ridiculous, like I was wearing a high water dress. I hang up the dress so I could see it in front of me instead of on me, & there was clearly a 1-1.5 inch difference between the front & the back. It was NOT cute. We finally get a chance to go to Mainz Cleaner to show her the dress. I tell her the back is shorter than the front, & it shows my feet. She grabs the bottom of the dress, takes ahold of each side & pulls them taut, & lays it on the table. As she does that, you can clearly see they don't line up & there's an inch or more difference between them. I show her that, & she points to the longer side, & said that is the back. I said, "How is that the back when I'm telling you the back is shorter than the front?" I offered to try it on so she could see w. her own eyes. She said no, that she's been doing this for over 24 years & for sundresses, she doesn't measure all around, just the pull taut way. She said there's nothing she can do, besides going shorter. I asked, are you going to charge me to go shorter? & of course, her answer was yes. I was so frustrated & angry. I told my boyfriend to just grab the dress & go. As we left, he said once he picks up his dry cleaning, he won't be going back there anymore. Honestly, all I wanted was for her to fix the dress. & if that couldn't be done, I wanted my money back & she could keep the dress. Because really, that dress is ruined now. I just can't believe she wouldn't own up to her mistake. Like you hemmed it wrong! But I'm the one who has to keep the dress as is, or pay even more money to make it go shorter, which I would never wear it like that. Never again will we ever give them our business. If I could give them no stars I would. My boyfriend and I took out clothes here before going to Vegas so everything can be dry cleaned and pressed(especially his clothes). We wear name brands that are not cheap and the cheapest shirt in there was $49.99 bought originally. We went to pick up our clothes the day before Vegas and they ruined everything!! I mean everything. The prints on the shirts were cracked and completely messed up(we didn't bring them like that) and his $300 jeans we're not pressed, and didn't look like they did anything. They still had chocolate on them form how we brought them. They would not refund us because we paid before inspecting the clothing(our mistake) and said it wasn't their fault. The hell it wasn't! The cleaner I normally went to wanted roughly $130 to clean those three items and I had to sign a release that there was no guarantee they would be cleaned without damage. I went here to have some patches sewn on some Boy Scout uniforms. They charged me double for same day service, then the shirts weren't ready when they were supposed to be. The only reason that they get 1 star is because zero stars is not an option! My husband took his brand new clean shirt to them to get alterations and the shirt pressed and when he picked it up the shirt came back with RUST all over the shirt. It's a light blue color and when asked about it the lady said that they didn't do it. It was brand new!!! We took it to another cleaner and they said they must have used a "dirty hot head" on it and thats how there is rust on it. My husband asked for his money back since he will most likely have to go buy a new shirt and the lady ignored him and started helping someone else and refused to even look at him. please do not take your clothing there i took 4 brand new white t shirts n 1 black 1to get dry cleaned. when i picked them up 2 of the white t shirts were yellow nthe black 1 was fadded they had washed them i was very upset. when i brought it 2 the lady attention she got mad n said they were old.n walked away i was very upset. knowing they where new. i left n called her 2 discuss the issue again she still didn't want 2 talk bout it. i do not recommend this cleaners to any 1 if i can give a zero ratting i surely would worse cleaners n poor customer service. read more
