I got a chance to try some of the pastries from Maison Alyzee because some were brought into work. I tried the savory pastry which was had ingredients similar to that of a pizza. The pastry was flakey and buttery. The chocolate Croissant was just as buttery and flakey with a sweet chocolate filling. I am looking forward to visiting the bakery and check it out personally now that I sampling of what they have to offer.

Came by for some pastries the other day and it was a decent experience. After spending some time in Paris where bakeries are on every other street corner, I had high hopes! Their desserts looked great and were rather pricey, compared with Paris. The quality of the pastries were ok, although the ones in Paris were much much better. Staff were friendly and cordial.

Beautiful ambience and lovely desserts. Tried the pistachio cake and it was delicious. The matcha one was just okay but will surely be back to try the others as they all looked very pretty.

OK spot for a sweet treat! We had dinner prior at Doppio...so by the time we got around to Maison, they only had a limited variety available. Nice ambiance inside, with some seating.

Downtown Mountain View is a great area to window shop and walk around to try new spots. I was able to drop by Maison Alyzee because of their pastries. I recommend knowing what you want before getting in line since you pick out pastries on the spot. The workers were super friendly and quick to pack our order. They were sweet to also helped us set up a table (outdoor seating)! We ordered the Passiano, Coffee Eclair, Matcha Raspberry, Lemon Tart, and Pistachio Cake. All of the desserts were yummy and easy to share. I definitely recommend the Matcha Raspberry. I would visit again and try other pastries!

We Ordered this to go, and it was a treat; I personally loved the pistachio tart; and my husband loved their coconut pineapple tart and chocolate passion. They were all sweet, and rich, but delicious for a once in a while indulgence treat. The chocolate for me was 4/5; super unique Coconut pineapple tart was 3.5/5 Pistachio 5/5 but it's rich and heavy! Overall great spot

My daughter is visiting from Seattle, and she and my niece and I went to dinner in downtown Mountain View last night, and my niece wanted to purchase dessert items for us afterwards. Wow! Not only was it very busy at 6 PM on a Friday night, but the staff was super friendly, and they brought our items to our table outside. We cut everything in thirds. The Signature Chocolate Tart was very dense and fudgy and had a very fine layer of crushed hazelnuts that you really couldn't see but you could could enjoy the texture difference. A tiny flake of gold on top really made it classy. The Lemon Custard Tart was beautiful. Very light, not too sweet, and had a beautiful lemon tang which we all loved. A nice thin crust as well. The Pecan Cinnamon Roll was nice, but it was a tad on the dry side. It was thick and the top was sticky and yummy, but I feel like the interior could've been a little bit more moist. Maybe put some of that sticky stuff in there, lol! All in all, it was wonderful and we will be back.

TLDR : Amazing collection of wonderful desserts! Maison Alyzee has been our go to for amazing desserts In the bay. Just love all their items and hard to go wrong with the choice here! 100% recommended!

I finally stopped by this bakery after dinner after passing by so many times and am glad I did! Overall, if you are looking for a spot that serves high quality desserts that look fancy, this is a great option. The interior is small and gives a Parisian aesthetic and would be a cute spot to grab a coffee and pastry with a friend. Matcha Raspberry: as someone who doesn't like desserts too sweet, I really enjoyed this. The matcha cake was really moist and light at the same time. The raspberry jam was super tart and thus some might think it was overpowering in comparison to the matcha, but I did think it was a nice punch. The matcha cream on top was my favorite. It was super light and surprisingly had a strong, deep matcha flavor. This was my favorite of the 3. Coffee eclair: I thought that this would be my favorite as a coffee lover but it fell a little flat for me. The cream smelled more strong in coffee flavor than it actually tasted. The pastry was also a bit dense and soft, which was probably attributed to the time of day so I don't fault them for that. I would be willing to try this again but overall it wasn't my favorite. Tiramisu: I love tiramisu but admit that it can be very rich and too sweet at times but I was so surprised with this one. The best description for it was that it was very light in texture (almost cloud like) which was definitely welcomed. It also wasnt too overpoweringly sweet. I do wish that the coffee flavor was more pronounced. It mostly just tasted a lot like chocolate and cream. Be careful of the cocoa powder in top though! I definitely almost choked . This was my second favorite. I would definitely be interested in trying out their other desserts and look forward to that in the future :)

It's pretty rare to find a café in this area that stays open late, so I really appreciate their hours. Most places around here close surprisingly early -- sometimes as early as 4 or 6 p.m. -- so it's nice to have somewhere you can still go in the evening. The pastries are absolutely beautiful, almost too pretty to eat. Everything is carefully made and displayed, which makes choosing just one so hard. There's a calm, peaceful atmosphere, and time seems to slow down here. It's such a cozy, comfortable place to relax.

New croissant with old and poorly maintained honey

Normally I am a fan of Maison Alyzée. But today's experience at the Mountain View California location was a little disappointing. Too many dirty tables. With the rest of the tables filled inside and out. I could forgive the table bussing. I find it harder to overlook the old, poorly maintained, crystalized honey. The chef could have taken care of the issue before the left. Doing a simple container submersion into a pan of hot water. I am aware the honey is still edible. But Maison Alyzée is as much about the presentation, as it is the baking. That hone should have be taken care of , one way or another. The croissant itself was good.

Croissants. Cakes. Pastries. General happiness. That's basically what pops into my head the moment the name Maison shows up. Once in a blue moon, my wife gets this very specific craving for something delicate, light, and delightfully sweet craving. Conveniently, this time it lined up with her birthday. Perfect timing... and also high stakes. I knew one thing: I was not about to show up with a "common neighborhood cake" for her special day. She would've murdered me (lovingly... but still). Franchise bakeries are fine, but they're not exactly "special occasion, core memory" vibes. So I teamed up with my partner-in-crime (aka my daughter) and we decided to go with Maison. Also, side note: the last three months of the year in our family are basically "Birthday Season," so we've had enough cake to qualify as professional tasters. If we're doing another cake, it better be worth it. We ordered a matcha raspberry cake and a mini Christmas log, then went to pick them up. And of course... I couldn't resist. I'm a simple man. Give me a really good croissant, and I will instantly become loyal. So I also pickup, in addition to the order: - plain croissant - triple chocolate croissant - truffle & cheese pastry - ham & cheese croissant Now here's the fun part: I didn't even get to try any of it. I managed to enjoy exactly one thing, the aroma of freshly baked pastry during the drive home. That's it. The moment I walked in, I blinked... and suddenly everything vanished from my countertop like a pastry magic trick. All that remained were crumbs. Crumbs. Thanks to my kids and my wife. I shed a single tear of disappointment for the croissants I loved but never got to know. The cake though? Absolutely worth it. Delicate, balanced, and flavorful; the fluffy cake, the sweetness, the bright raspberry acidity, and that slight matcha bitterness all worked together like a tiny dessert orchestra. It was rich without being heavy, and fancy without trying too hard. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The store layout is a bit tight, so ordering/pickup can feel a little cramped, but it's a small tradeoff for the quality. Overall: thank you, Maison, for making my wife's birthday dessert feel special... while I quietly grieve the loss of the croissants I never got to eat.

Perfect spot for a date where you get desserts while sipping coffees and watching people. The place could get crowded very quickly but the line moves quickly with staff constantly working to pump out the orders. I got the matcha raspberry and passion berries. They both look gorgeous. If you select dine-in options they will bring it to your table. The passion berries was a little too sour to my taste. But the matcha raspberry was really good, the cream was on spot with the intensity of matcha and sweetness level. The cake sponge was little too dry and hard, but I will give it a pass. Their hot chocolate was also really thick! Not like a regular hot chocolate from the U.S. There's parking garage nearby that you can park for free and start roaming around this area. Would definitely come back for other items

There's no fancy plates or wine glasses, just solid French classic dishes. Our appetizer were great, good salad and very yummy French onion soup. The ingredients were fresh, beautifully balanced, and honestly so good I considered ordering another round. The bread was solid too -- perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. It's those little details that really show care. The space itself is charming and cozy, with a lovely French ambiance. It's a medium-sized restaurant , with additional outdoor seating, and a decor that makes you want to linger. What really stood out, though, was the service. Absolutely top notch. The staff were warm and nice and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I ordered a coke to drink and my partner had a French beer. We proceeded to order the charcuterie and french onion soup for appetizers and the duck breast and french burger for entrees. The soup came and it was fine- it tasted like french onion soup. The charcuterie never came; I guess they forgot to put the order in or forgot to make it. It was awkward just sitting there starving while my husband ate his soup though. We figured maybe they were bringing it after he finished the soup so there'd be room on the table but nope. The burger looked nice and was cooked to the ordered temp of medium rare. Otherwise it was like any other burger anywhere else, not overly special. The fries were crisp and well salted. The duck was underwhelming. It's $38 for this plate of food and it came with totally flavorless and dry mashed potatoes, whose texture was akin to boxed potatoes. No butter or cream flavor to speak of. The vegetables were so disappointing. They had no seasoning whatsoever and were as soft as baby food- I am not exaggerating on that. I was surprised by how mushy the carrots were. For almost $40 I expect more exciting veg than broccoli, cauliflower and carrots all steamed to death. The duck was okay. There was a large tendon running through the middle of every piece and I could only eat half of it due to gristly fat. The port wine reduction that covered it totally masked the flavor of the duck. All I tasted was soy sauce. We let them know about the missing charcuterie to make sure it was not included on the bill. Other small things that detracted from the experience included them never clearing any dishes from the table (like the basket from the complimentary bread, appetizer plates or the huge wine glasses that neither of us needed) and not checking in on us to see how everything was going. The table was so cluttered it was hard to eat. It took a really long time to get the check and was so uncomfortable just sitting there obviously done with our food. For the prices charged I expected a higher level of service that was blatantly absent. Overall will not return. Over priced, slow, bland food.

The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The overall ambiance was also enjoyable, making it a nice spot for a dinner out. Unfortunately, the experience took a concerning turn at the end of the meal. Our bill came out to $86.42, and I handed my credit card to the waiter. Within seconds (thanks to my card alerts), I received a notification that $103.92 had been charged. When the waiter returned with the receipt, there was no mention of any discrepancy. After waiting a few minutes to see if it would be addressed, I brought it up myself. The waiter appeared flustered and then claimed he had accidentally charged me for someone else's food. That explanation didn't align with the itemized bill I was given, which made the situation feel questionable. He assured me that it would be corrected and that I should see the adjustment in a few days, which I'll be watching closely. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of transparency and the fact that it wasn't proactively disclosed is what left a bad impression. Being overcharged without explanation -- and having to catch it myself -- is not something I expect when dining out. Given the cut of it, I really wouldn't expect anything less of this though. Speaking of see though, the presentation lacks a lot for me. There wasn't too much color in the bowl. Really just broth, the noodles, and the meat placed on top. Essentially that's all it is, but there's no pop of anything to it. The flavor of the broth is quite good though. It's a lighter, but deep flavor. Will attribute this to some kind of bone meat that they used versus loading it with MSG. The noodles were overcooked and more on the soft side for me. Not much of a bite overall. Grilled Pork Spring Rolls: 1.5/5 This was really underwhelming for me. The grilled pork was nothing extravagant. Crispy eggroll wrapper roll inside was stale. Lacking in body and shape. Each of the rolls were really small and thin and lacking a lot of the filling. Usually I find that other places will overstuff it with vermicelli and vegetables because those are the more inexpensive ingredients in the roll. Here, the proportions were balanced in a sense, but lacking in size. Their sauce is what gets me. I can understand the experimentation, but I do prefer the typical sauce that is used. Perhaps doing a variation of this sauce may be better versus changing it to a completely different sauce. This sauce was a spicy kaffir lime leaf sauce and the tartness and sour flavor just overwhelmed the whole dish, so it became less appetizing for me. Belgian Fries: 3.5/5 These were honestly my favorite item here. Umm...I can't say they're anything extravagant. They were super crispy and the right size for me. Some potato without being too starchy on the inside. The sauce is a truffle aioli and that was truly the star of the show. Most of the rating will be regarding the dipping sauce. It was very rich and the flavors were very balanced. The combination of the truffle with the garlic flavor contributes really well to the dish. Honestly comparable to Cajun fries. Shrimp Mango Ceviche: 2.0/5 Fourth item was also not my favorite at all. The curing sauce was just so tart and sour that it took so much away from the dish itself. Aesthetic wise, was very underwhelming. In my opinion, this would have looked better served inside of a rounder bowl?? versus a shallow plate. The plate just makes it look half eaten given the serving size. The chips were just chips, so nothing extravagant. Balance of shrimp to vegetables appears appropriate though. --------- Quality: Fresh The food items did come out hot. The fries were crispy. They claim their pho broth takes hours to make and I can only take their word from that. Waiters and waitresses seem genuine, so I shall trust them on that. Food appears to be fresh, so no concerns here. Price: Quite steep; $$$ The prices here are quite steep. With what I was served, the prices seem to lean more on the expensive side. I can understand that some ingredients are more pretentious, but I really can't say I would pay this much for what was served. Range is around $8 to $16 for smaller dishes and $20 to $40 for the entrees. Service: Amazing; A+ The service that we were provided today was amazing. The waitress and waiters are very nice and super attentive. They checked on us a few times after all the foods came out and refilled our waters as needed. When we were deciding what foods to order, they were also really patient in going through some of the food choices with us. Ambiance: Fine dining vibes The space really isn't that big and there are really only a few tables inside. The space is big and the ceilings are high, which again, leads me to feel that this place has the fine dining vibes. Interior is quite dim lit and has this calming and warm vibe to it. Location/Parking: Downtown Area/Parking Downtown San Jose is probably all I need to say for people to understand what I mean. IFKYK kind of a deal. I can't say the location is in a bad place per se because it is around this line of other restaurants and stores. The parking is terrible though and perhaps you will find yourself paring at the parking structures for a more affordable cost or a closer one for a more expensive price. The parking lot I chose is free for the first 90 minutes and then they start charging. For one of the closest parking lots, my friend paid $20+ for her ticket.

We were attended to by four staff members, and while that may sound like a lot, their service was seamless. Every movement felt intentional and unobtrusive, enhancing rather than interrupting the ambiance. The craftsmanship of the food--wow. This Michelin rating is absolutely well deserved. Each dish had such depth of flavor that we couldn't help but murmur "mmm" with every bite. The presentation was, of course, stunning, with flavors that matched the beauty on the plate. I can't wait to return and experience the dining room next. I highly recommend adding Protégé to your "Best of the Bay" list.

We were seated in the bar area at some tables. The bar is impressive. It's filled to the ceiling with different bottles. We felt like we had to try a cocktail to start. Our bartender was great and even went off menu for some of our drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Once we were seated we got some appetizers to get us started. We ordered chickpea panisse, French onion soup, goat cheese mousse, and the apple salad. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the chickpea panisse. It looked like fried tofu, but it was so delicately soft in the center. The aioli that came with it was great too. My second favorite was the goat cheese mousse. It was beautifully presented and a good balance of flavors. For main dishes, we got a variety of things. We got salmon, hanger steak, flat iron steak, and poulet roti. Everything was delicious. I think the flat iron steak was preferred over the hanger, but both were good. I thought the chicken was delicious. It seemed braised with a lot of flavor. It was a generous portion with a large salad. It was very well done. We also got a couple of sides of macaroni and cheese. Those didn't disappoint. They came in hot iron skillets and were hearty and delicious. For dessert we got the mousse au chocolat. The mousse with ice cream was a great combination. The dessert was well balanced. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the vibe was fun.

The bar and dining areas inside were completely packed, so I'd definitely recommend booking a reservation rather than simply taking your chances like we did! Enjoyed a Colette (mezcal, lapsang honey, peach, salers aperitif, lemon) house cocktail while perusing the food menu, and we were off to the races. While our high top was a bit wobbly and the surface area not nearly big enough to safely hold all the dishes we ordered, we made it work ;). Our picks: SALADES Frisée & Apple Salad (arugula, pt. reyes blue cheese, pink lady apples, candied walnuts, sunchokes, honey mustard vinaigrette) LES PLATS King Salmon (melted spring onions, delta asparagus, crispy potatoes, citrus nage) Beef Cheek Bourguignon (roasted garlic pomme purée, nantes carrots, pickled red onions) LES GARNITURES Local Asparagus (hazelnut crumble, cara cara emulsion, pecorino) DESSERT Mousse au Chocolat (valrhona "Illanka", chantilly, cocoa crumble) Toasted Coconut Panna Cotta (mango passionfruit compote, coconut tuile) Sticky Toffee Pudding (warm date cake, toffee sauce, vanilla ice cream) 3 desserts were likely overkill, but we had 0 regrets!

We had a reservation for Father's day! Definitely recommend reservations for Naschmarkt because they prioritized indoor seating over their outdoor seating for those who booked ahead of time (not that their outdoor seating was bad). The interior of the restaurant gives off "upper scale" energy but we didn't feel out of place wearing a shorts and a collar tee. They had a great selection of mocktails and beers. We shared a blood orange mocktail (forgot the exact name) but that was pretty NICE. They charge for water at the table. Just like it is in Europe. You can also ask for bread but that is not complimentary. We got the garlic prawns, goat cheese salad, and the three sausage taster platter for appetizers. The salad was fresh and the prawns were succulent and perfectly cooked! The garlic bread that came with the shrimp tasted so good in the sauce. Of the 3 sausages, my family's favorite was the spicy sausage, which had the most TASTY flavor. Of the entrees, my favorite was the pepper steak (chef's rec: medium rare). That was so tender, juicy, and the sauce it came with was DELECTABLE!! The Jager Schnitzel was also a top pick! The creamy sauce with the mushrooms were TASTY! We got the Classic Weiner Schnitzel (veal). That can definitely be shared by two adults. That was massive! With the Schnitzel, our waitress recommended that we sub our sides for the SPÄTZLE and man oh man that was THE MOVE. Get the SPÄTZLE, its like a buttery soft pasta (meant to not be al dente, but like an eggy-pasta texture). We did not have room for dessert, but I regret not window shopping the dessert menu. Next time!
