Our first visit to GK Pastry's in downtown Los Altos. There are limited seating available inside the bakery. We like the variety of both savory and sweet pastries. My favorites are the savory focaccia and the croissants. They have sourdough breads too, but the crusts are not the type I like. The service truly outstanding, we were quite full when we stopped by, but couldn't resist trying the focaccia. Ordered just half a slice and told the staff that we planned to share it, he was so kind to heat it up and cut it in half for us. Can't wait to come back to try more focaccias from GK Pastry.

I love that GK Pastry & Sourdough has expanded their locations! There are currently three locations in Palo Alto, Mountain View and now Los Altos. First time here in Los Altos and I love how every store front has a unique interior. This locations seems to target a more sit down setting with lots of tables to sit in, music playing, ideal spot to get some good sourdough/focaccia while getting your work done. I'm a big fan of focaccias and I believe GK Pastry & Sourdough sells the best in the Bay Area!I love getting the savory focaccia, you can either get a slice ($14) or half a slice ($7). They also have a variety of pastries, salads, sandwiches and cookies! If you're unsure what sourdough you want, you can always request for a sample and they are happy to do so!

I am a huge fan of GK pastry and have visted their other locations. This is their newest, and I am sure many more are going to open. As the name suggests, the sourdough bread is great, and I always pick up some. This time I also got the focaccia with artichoke and goat cheese which was delicious. I love how diverse their food is. They have French and Italian items, and they had pilaf from Central Asia. Very cool. I have always found the staff at all their locations friendly and helpful.

GK Pastry just opened a new location in Los Altos, and as someone who's already been to their Mountain View and Palo Alto spots, I knew it would be good. Still, this new one might be my favorite yet. It's bigger, brighter, and finally has tables--perfect for lingering with a coffee and pastry instead of just grabbing to go. The pistachio croissant is next-level. Nutty, flaky, buttery perfection--almost too good. I could honestly eat one every day (but probably shouldn't, for calorie reasons). Their focaccia is also excellent, the sourdough is legit, and the monkey bread is as dangerously addictive as ever. If I had one tiny note, it's that the milk foam on the latte could be a touch creamier. But overall, it's such a welcome addition to downtown Los Altos.

Amazing bakery. The shop is very clean and elegant. The man behind the counter was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He also gave suggestions and let us sample the napoleon cake, which was FANTASTIC. We got the almond danish, pistachio twist, slice of napoleon cake, and the jalapeño spinach focaccia all for to go. The almond danish was my favorite. It was not too sweet, and was flaky and baked perfectly. The pistachio twist was really good as well. It was sweet and flaky. The napoleon cake was so light, crispy, flaky, and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet and it was so good. I tried both the pistachio cake and the regular. I preferred the regular, but it he pistachio one was also really good. I enjoyed the focaccia too, but I didn't like the jalapeños on it (personal preference). I ended up taking the jalapeños off. Also, my sister in law doesn't like olives, and we didn't realize there was olives on it, so she took those off. Overall the bakery was amazing, and I can't wait to try more things from there. Thank you!

The loaves of bread are very tasty! The lady who works there is very friendly and offered us samples before we made a purchase, which was a nice touch. The restaurant layout is a bit unusual, but it's definitely worth a try

Plain croissant, cardamom bun and monkey bread

We picked up three different pastries this morning: monkey bread, cardamom bun and plain croissant. We also picked up a loaf of their sourdough, which I think is the best in the Bay Area! The bread was literally hot out of the oven. The pastries were fabulous! We love GK Pastry!

The focaccia and sourdoughs were sooo good; ended up grabbing a few loaves to last the week. Loved that they let us try the different sourdoughs before buying, which made it easy to pick favorites. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful. Definitely a spot I'd come back to stock up.

Little Sky Bakery opened at 11:00am, despite the hours listed online. And there was hardly a wait near opening time, as well as friendly service at the counter. Plus, the place offers such a diverse menu of pastries, sandwiches, and desserts, it was hard to make my selection. I ended up getting the shrimp egg and chive pocket (heated), peanut butter mound cookie, and seasonal mini banana bread (made with bananas, blueberries, walnuts, chocolate chips, and raisins). The shrimp egg and chive pocket was okay. Filled with tasty ingredients but the wrap wasn't very appealing to me. This had the taste of a giant asian dumpling, but dryer. Thankfully, the other items were outstanding. That banana bread had so much yumminess packed into a cute little loaf. Lots of blueberries and banana flavor, just a few walnuts, raisins, and chocolate chips in the mix. It was like banana nut bread and a blueberry muffin all in one... with chocolate! Even the raisins couldn't ruin this for me. The peanut butter cookie was even better. Again, light on the chocolate chips, but that natural peanut butter flavor and perfect chewy consistency made this addicting.

I was standing at the glass for a while before being acknowledged. Someone finally came over, and I asked if the Ube Black Sesame cookie was vegan since the display writing was a bit smudged. The staff member confirmed, so I got that cookie and a Gingersnapperdoodle since I loved it before. I also asked about the Brownie, but did not receive a very helpful reply. My question: Is the brownie very rich? The response: It's like any other brownie. I'm not a fan of chocolate items that are super rich, and some brownies are fudgy, but some are more mild. I'd expect someone working there to be a bit more helpful and descriptive. I ended up not getting a brownie. Lowering my rating because the service was subpar, and the Ube flavor was nonexistent in the Ube Black Sesame cookie. The Gingersnapperdoodle was still yummy like before, but had a more sandy texture than last time.

It's simple but easily messed up by most places that have them. Flaky, ham was thin and broke apart easily, the cheese and inner soft portion mixed together was superb. I sat quietly and munched! I overheard regulars saying it was unusually quiet and not the norm? Regardless it was peaceful! Pastries and breads are often not uniform in size. Pastries that come out smaller or torn, damaged still get selected to be sold to customers instead of seen as a quality defect and pulled. In comparison to premium bakeries in SF, Palo Alto, or even Los Gatos, this was disappointing. I would think it would be better to pull the one or two pastries in that tray. Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The prices they had in the beginning were fair, but with the recent increase along with those issues, I'm sad to rate it lower.
