We had a great stay recently at the Lodge celebrating our anniversary. The last time we were here was over a decade ago and we stayed in the cabins. This time we booked a couple of nights in the Lodge itself. It was wonderful to be able to go on hikes such as Mount Storm King and then come back to the Lodge later for a hot meal and cold drink. First I'd like to address the Lodge accommodations. The rooms are indeed small and the bathrooms are shared. Neither of these facts were problematic. Neither my wife nor I ever had to wait to use a bathroom (and there is also a bathroom downstairs if we did) or the shower. Yes the walls are thin and yes you might hear the neighbor snoring. It's a 100+ year-old Lodge and National Historic Place!! If your idea of roughing it is checking Into the Four Seasons without reservations, then maybe you should look elsewhere. Was the bed cozy? Yes! Get cozy! We ended up eating a lunch and two dinners at the restaurant. The full dinner menu is available from the bar as well, so even if reservations are full you can get the same meal in the lodge or on the enclosed patio. For lunch we had the sliders and a cup of chowder, both of which were wonderful. For dinner, one night we had the roasted wild-caught sablefish and braised pork shank, both of which also well prepared and very well presented. I appreciate a good plate presentation and the chef did not disappoint. For dinner on the second night, we had the sablefish again (it was that good) and the risotto with prawns. I had high hopes for the risotto but honestly it was the only disappointing meal we had at the Lodge. It was too salty for my liking and prawns were a little dry. The service, at the front desk, at the bar, and at the restaurant were all top notch. The staff seemed happy to be there, were eager to please and delightful conversationalists. I think a new concessionaire took over management of this location recently and they have done a great job creating a solid park experience. Finally, we enjoyed a couple of craft cocktails and glasses of wine during our stay and all was well-paired and well-made. Five stars and definitely recommend eating and staying at the Lodge. read more

We walked here from the Storm King Ranger Station just to check it out and I'm so glad we did! Beautiful views of Lake Crescent and you can walk right up to the edge of the lake! The inside of the lodge is beautiful, lots of natural wood paneling with a cozy lounge area, bar, restaurant, and gift shop. We sat on the patio with our dog in the rocking chairs and it was a lovely experience! read more

We had lunch here one day and the food was fine. I had booked a room back in December when reservations opened up. When I arrived, I was informed that we would be on the second floor and have to share bathrooms and showers with others on the floor - one shower for men and another for women, one bathroom for men and one for women. It was NOT what I wanted and they couldn't change it because there weren't any rooms available. Absolutely awful. The room was so small and had nothing in it besides the bed and nightstand. There was so much noise all night long from the lodge downstairs. The gaps under the doors and windows allowed all the sounds to come from the hallway and adjoining room as well. I will start off with you go to this place for the view and the service. The food is so so but looking out onto the lake is absolutely beautiful. We ordered the clam chowder, fish and chips, and mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms were fantastic, the breading was so good, and the aioli went well with it. The fish and chips were as they should be...tasted like fish and chips, nothing special, but the fries that came with them were great. I'm not sure if we got a bad batch but the clam chowder was so watery it was difficult to eat. I put in three packages of oyster crackers and that still didn't fix it. Overall, again, go for the view and also the fact that there is like no where else to eat around here. read more

Very pleasant spot to grab a bite and a drink with a view of Lake Crescent during your visit to Olympic National Park. Prices are on the higher side but reasonable considering the location in the National Park and the view, and limited selection in the area. We were in the lounge area which was mostly self service. Food: This was one of the very best meals ever! Salmon on cedar plank was perfectly cooked and the veggies were delicious. Iron skillet cookie and cream were perfect finish to a superb meal. Service: Our waiter was quite attentive, but the kitchen was slow and we waited an hour for our food. Ambiance: Fortunately, the view of Lake Crescent is spectacular. This was a great spot to stop on our road trip. The grounds are lively with plenty of parking and a large gift shop. The food was pretty good. This lovely lodge is tucked away along the shore of what looked to me as quite a large lake! My boyfriend's Aunt booked a room here when we were visiting so we could enjoy the area and get some hiking in. We were so thankful she did! We got here around the afternoon and were able to check in to the room and then walk around the area to explore. It was a little chilly but bearable. I didn't realize early June would still feel a little cold, but alas, we were up north amongst the misty emerald green forest so I imagine it's expected. The lodge is close to several hiking trails, a creek that flows out to the lake and from the restaurant lodge and patio, a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. When dinner came around we were pretty famished. I decided to try their copper river salmon entree and my boyfriend got the mac and cheese. Aunt Carol got the sliders and we all shared the lovely dessert . As soon as our waiter told us their pastry chef had an Ube cheesecake, we had to try it! Everything was delicious. Especially being that they are pretty far from most places, the dinner was quite creative and impressive. The Ube cheesecake was served with blackberries and it was more of a light fluffy cheesecake than a rich and heavy cheesecake. The Berry crumble was crunchy and tart. I got to have a bite of the mac and cheese and it was warm and tasty. We left happy and satisfied with our meals ready to relax in our room. The room was simple and comfortable. The only thing missing was a top sheet on one of the queen beds but it was quickly remedied. Our room was a short walk from a parking lot and a short distance to walk along the lake too. I love that there was a back door to the room with chairs outside to enjoy the area. Check in and check out was easy. The staff were helpful and happy to answer any questions we had about the stay, hiking trails, and anything else. The lodge itself had a welcoming and warm vibe with comfy leather chairs and a game of chess at the ready. We truly enjoyed our stay here and hope to stop here again if our adventure takes us this way. We headed back home extra thankful Aunt Carol thought to book this place. The food menu has been updated and elevated and it's pretty amazing. There is a wild mushroom pâté that takes the kitchen a couple days to make. Absolutely worth it at around 20 bucks. Try it, and you'll love it. Pictures included. It looks so much better in person, I promise! Still the wonderful relaxed atmosphere you're used to with a warm ambience and the servers are there to put the icing on the cake. We couldn't get a room reservation in the lodge so we were staying at Log Cabin Resort across the lake - made a reservation here at the Singers Dining Room for dinner, though - and we had a lovely table with a gorgeous view, and delicious food including pork shank with cassoulet yum yum, and the desserts were also fabulous, the kids ate the skillet cookie in under 2 minutes lol - definitely come here to eat, especially if you are staying here! read more

Very disappointing experience, especially considering the price. We spent $240 on our meal, but unfortunately were seated next to a very large, extremely loud and disrespectful group that completely ruined the dining experience. The noise level was overwhelming, and the staff made no apparent effort to ask the group to quiet down or otherwise address the situation. At a restaurant this expensive, I expect management to ensure that all guests can enjoy their meal. Instead, we left feeling that our money had been spent on a very unpleasant evening. read more

The property is under new management, and the food and service are better than ever! Nice to see that they retained many of the same staff from previous years too. It's great to be able to eat on-site rather than driving half an hour to Port Angeles. The lodge has a cozy historic vibe that's conducive to relaxing with a drink and a good book. And the views of the lake can't be beat! We've stayed in the lodge and various cottages on the property, and they all have their pluses and minuses whether you're staying with family/pets or as a couple. They took so long just to take our order and nobody had informed us that there was a different menu after 2:30 so we had to hold up the line looking at the real menu. The food at the lodge here is 10 out of 10! I typically dread being locked into whatever the onsite dining is for things like ski lodges or secluded accommodations since they're usually the only show in town and you're subject to their sub par food at inflated prices. Happy to say that is not the case here at all; so much so that I would seek this place out if it was a regular restaurant in town. Staying for a few days afforded me the opportunity to try much of the menu, and it did not disappoint. All their seafood is local and tasted of high quality (looking at you steamed clams and king salmon). Their fried food was great as well - do not sleep on the fried pickle spears and fish and chips! Even their desserts hit the spot, particularly the cheesecake and chocolate cake. The prices weren't absurd for being the only option at the lodge, and the service was good (they do get busy in the evening so recommend getting a table reservation, or ordering to go from the bar before the line forms). Tag on the beautiful views of the lake while the sunsets, and you're guaranteed to form some core memories. My advice - hike, swim, kayak, etc. during the day; get yourself nice and hungry, and then kick back at the very cozy, communal lodge to cap an amazing day at Olympic National Park! read more

Lake Crescent Lodge is nothing short of magical! We had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights this summer and it was incredible in every way. We stayed in a Singer cottage, loved spending time in the rocking chairs on the porch, jumping off the dock into the beautiful, refreshing lake and spending the evenings in the super cozy lodge. More than the magical place, what made the trip extra special was the experience that every team member created for us as guests. We had incredible meals in the restaurant, enjoyed beautifully crafted cocktails in front of the nightly well tended fires in the evenings, and great conversation with folks every day. Pro-tip: Make reservations ahead of time. If you don't have reservations, show up slightly before each meal window opens (for example, 11 AM before 11:30 AM lunch). You can enjoy the beautiful views in the sun room, while you wait. Staff is incredibly friendly! Suzanne, more specifically, is a rockstar - balancing all sorts of responsibilities such as taking orders for walk-ins and takeout, preparing bar drinks for the entire restaurant, AND helping run the orders. She clearly is committed to being a positive face at the lodge, often remembering names and orders. We were all so highly impressed by the menu here. Many ingredients locally sources and dishes carefully crafted. Notable dishes: a hamburger with a side of fried pickles (especially after a long hike), the steam clams, and the fish and chips. Do not sleep on the seafood, again, all locally sourced. The salmon was also fantastic! The perfect poach. The mixed berry salad is a must, and worth the upcharge as a substitute for the side fries. Amongst the dessert, wish I got to tried the S'mores pudding. The flour less cake was solid, so was the cheesecake with chantilly cream. Highly suggest restructuring staff help. We stayed at Lake Crescent Lodge for a couple nights, it's a quaint lodge within the Olympic National Park. We booked a lake view room, and had a tiny view of the lake from our room. Some of the cottages have better views, will try to book them next time. The location though is unbeatable, in the forest on the lake shore, makes it worth it. We had multiple meals at the lodge. For our first breakfast we got Eggs Benedict and Lake Crescent Scramble. The Eggs Benedict was okay, the eggs didn't have a runny yolk. I liked the potatoes that came with it. The Lake Crescent Scramble was good. For breakfast the 2nd day we got Eggs Benedict and Lodge Breakfast. They were both good. Both days we got Hot Chocolate and Mocha, they were really good. For dinner we got Olympic Clam Chowder, Steamer Clams and Fish n Chips. Clam Chowder and Fish n Chips were good, we loved the Steamer Clams the best. Vegetarians beware! No more beyond burgers (super sad face). Heard from two different staff members that the new food manager doesn't want to offer them because they're processed. Really!?! Almost everything release on the menu is processed. I tried the grilled veggie gyro which was an extremely disappointing waste of $19 & it wasn't even a gyro. It was on a dry hoagie bun like a hero sandwich. Waiter didn't even know which one it was supposed to be but the whole table agreed it was as a pathetic wherever it was supposed to be. For the past 8 years, Lake Crescent Lodge has been our favorite place for special celebrations and holiday meals. We were excited to try out our favorite place under new management and I'm happy to say the experience has only been elevated. We were thrilled to see familiar faces and learned that all of the fantastic staff stayed on during the transition. Ann is such a lovely waitress and took great care of us. She helped us perfectly with our selections and was extremely knowledgeable of all ingredients. Jessica even made a point to come and say hello and welcomed us back. The food was phenomenal and we had so many delicious gluten free items to choose from. The new furniture, music, and ambiance is super cozy. The star of the show was the Ube Sweet Potato Cheesecake. What is not to love about finding yourself in a quaint lodge inside a beautiful national park? While these accommodations have maybe less amenities or cleanliness feels of some high- volume national parks, it is truly hard to compete with these views. In addition to having the most amazing views right outside your door, we even had deer friends outside ours! The cottages look super cute and some even have fireplaces. The restaurant and food was pretty good for the NP standard and we'd definitely go back. Service is average, which is also expected in NP off-season (went in November). Review for the Lodge only. I absolutely LOVED the Lake Crescent Lodge. Location is perfect, the views are amazing, and you are right inside the National Park. They lost a star because of cleanness. Even though they made it very clear that the main lodge and restaurant would be closed (we stayed in January) and we wouldn't have service during our stay, some of the towels had stains, there was hair in the shower before we showered and the microwave oven was super dirty. The views and location are absolutely worth it, though! We plan to come back and will definitely stay here again. read more

Had an awful experience on our most recent visit and don't think we'll be back, which is unfortunate because we have such great memories from years past. We came on a Monday around lunchtime. The lodge itself is really neat - old, rustic, charm, pretty surroundings. Our party of 6 was seated relatively quickly and that's where the trouble started. Our table was as far from the windows as possible, but it didn't matter because they were painting the building so they glass was covered by a film. Unlike all the other tables, ours didn't have a white table cloth. And the music coming from the kitchen was so loud that we couldn't even hear ourselves. The menu was boring (really ho-hum options) but we got an assortment of things because we'd had such great food on our last visit about a year ago. The fish (salmon) sandwich was super fishy (in a bad way) and it had too much aioli on it. The fried chicken sandwich was embarrassing - overcooked and charred. The tomato soup and clam chowder were gross - I've had better soup out of a Campbell's can than what we were given. We love dessert, but after those dishes, we opted to end the meal there. Had to reserve ahead for dinner ( no walk in). Dishes like cobbler, pasta, steak and veggie basket need major improvement for that price point. Veggies are smooshed with not major texture or flavor profile. And cobbler is just warm, extremely sweet jam. Pasta seems reheated pasta and not freshly cooked.
