I texted Paul some pictures, and he was able to give me a quote over the phone. Once I agreed to move forward, he got me scheduled pretty quickly. Luis came out and explained what needed to be done. Since the original composite floor panels are no longer made, he had to cut individual pieces of white oak to match the exact size and keep the original look of the panels. You could tell a lot of time and care went into it. After carefully piecing everything together, he sanded and finished it to match the original color of the floor. Honestly, when it was done, I could not tell the difference. The repair blended in perfectly with the original floor. Really impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Once the work began, Carlos, Brayan, and Paul made sure to keep us in the loop of any installation issues/concerns they had as well as provided their recommendations on how to approach each issue. Carlos and Brayan were also very respectful of our space and made sure to clean up at the end of each day and move things back around to make the space still livable before taking off for the next day. When I brought my contractor in to help remodel one of my units, they took the time to break down all the options to help us match the flooring perfectly. They went over different vinyl options for both the bathroom and kitchen, making sure we had all the information we needed. They were super helpful, and even for my social media, they helped me make a little video, and the owner even came over to say hi. I've had at least two others come by, one of them hasn't given me a quote, the other had followed up and I did receive a quote from them. I can't say the same for this guy, he just left me on read and never bothered to follow up. I'm not going to go out my way to pay someone and give them an opportunity because it's not my job to go after people and to follow up. Also if you're more "value orientated" like me, he has a $550 a day minimum so keep that in mind. It could be that my job didn't hit this so he couldn't of bothered, but I am just speculating. The process to find a reliable contractor is a quasi part time itself. All of them are situational and with that being said, it's a huge YMMV based off when you need or want them and if they will even bother to entertain you because they just don't care enough to follow up if its a bad time (Which you'll never know). There's a happy ending to this story though, one of the people did get back to me and I just need to figure out how to schedule him when we figure out how we're going to get things done. This is all the time and effort I will put into this.
