We needed the exterior of our two story shingle sided home painted and woodwork repaired, as well as parts of the interior (two bathrooms, the kitchen). When I called they immediately set up an estimate appointment. Phil and Marco came exactly on time, did a thorough evaluation and presented an on-the-spot proposal. Days later, on my acceptance call, Marco brought the revised contract in 90 minutes. Adriana emailed the same day to schedule the job for about three weeks out. Adriana emailed due to the schedule opening up, and the job was started two days early. It took a total of 17 working days to complete. Every day Jose (crew leader), Edwin, and Ernesto came promptly at 8 and worked until 4-4:30. They left the site clean and tidy daily. Mid-job we got an additional estimate for extensive wood repair that needed doing. (I am so glad they are able to handle that as well; last time we had the house painted we had to get a separate contractor to do the work.) They did an excellent job with the woodwork as well. Whenever a section was finished, we would go through and look it over, requesting touch-ups the next day as needed. Jose was unfailingly polite and accommodating. He never made me feel that I was being unreasonable or demanding. We had a great experience with Cooley Brothers Painting and are very pleased with the outcome. Our house needed exterior painting in the worst way. We had peeling paint on most exposed surfaces including our fascia boards, gable vents, and patio support beams. Our stucco was in bad shape as well with discoloration and blistering where it came in contact with the soil surrounding our home. We also needed our weather beaten exterior doors painted and water heater cabinet rebuilt. I sent our job to 4 different contractors for estimates (all rated highly on Yelp and Google) and ended up choosing Cooley Brothers. I would have trusted our job to any of the 4, but ultimately chose Cooley Brothers because of their attention to detail, grade A communication, attentiveness, and transparency. The price was not the lowest, but not the highest either. I was more interested in the way they treated their customer and the quality of their work. I was not disappointed with either. Marco came to our home and took the time to explain the scope of work, answer questions, make suggestions, and prepared the estimate. He was very professional. The actual prep and painting was carried out efficiently with no problems or mess. The crew was careful not to leave trash at our home and were always courteous. My 1925 Craftsman received its facelift. Lead paint required hours to scrap off. Damaged wood was replaced by me. Ganahl Lumber Yard had the matching siding. I purchased Benjamin Moore Aura and Ben, and the Painters told me they are great choices, very high in acrylic the key element to protection. I made sure to clear the surroundings of obstructions and the painters worked and communicated daily and often. We hired Cooley Brothers to help us with a small project after our flooring contractor installed some baseboards in a sloppy manor and damaged preexisting paint. We hired Cooley Brothers do touch ups on all the door frames in the house where the carpet level was higher than the newly refinished wood floors and also paint the baseboards. We contacted Marco, our estimator, who we had previously worked with and he came out within 1 business day. He was on time, thorough, and pleasant and professional as always. He understood our concerns about blue painter's tape on the newly refinished floors and was very reassuring that there would be no damage. He also followed up after the project to make sure we were fully satisfied. David was able to start a few days later and did a wonderful job! He asked questions, was respectful of our space (wore booties over his work shoes, put blankets and appropriate Frog tape down, cleaned up after himself), and was in and out in 2 days. I have worked with several different painting companies over the years yet did not go back to them when our HOA needed to have our "3 on a lot" property painted on the outside after 12 years since original painting. After interviewing 3 companies, we knew David's company was the best for us because of his attention to detail. David knows the common pitfalls that can make a project more difficult to manage or reduce the integrity of the paint job and he communicates effectively upfront ( during scoping) to make sure we as owners know what to expect and how to prepare. While David's price wasn't the lowest we felt it was the best value because of all the prep work and the high quality paint he included to ensure longevity of our paint. Once we got started, his crew was always on time, reliable and detail oriented. For a project as large as ours, the punch list at the end was really small AND David committed to completing each touch up until we were completely satisfied. No disappearing act like other companies. One of the things I appreciated about david on top of the incredibly good work was his communication and transparency. When the quote was given, it was off a visual inspection but as the team started to clean the wood work, it was clear there were areas of termite damage and dry rot so he was upfront in sending photos and providing an added scope to fix the wood prior to painting. There were a lot of little things that made the project more difficult than planned that took extra time but David didn't nickel and dime us on those items. but he is a professional so when there was significant incremental work, he was transparent and upfront about it and fair in the price. I came across Cooley Brothers reviews on Yelp and Google and contacted them because of other five star reviews. David had a new assistant so there was some confusion with our first appointment time but he made up for it by staying longer and preparing a complete bid while we walked the house. He and I are both very thorough and specific, which was both a challenge and a good fit. We outlined the proposal with everything down to the specific paint colors from his color cards. His pricing was slightly higher than other bids but the professionalism and the attention to detail made me select Cooley Bros over two other contractors. I'm very glad I did. We were flexible with scheduling and, when their exterior jobs pushed off due to weather, they promptly started with a five man crew. They were mindful that we were inhabiting the house and just had some other work completed and worked around our schedules to be less disruptive. In one instance I had made a poor selection for a wall and their foreman pointed out it didn't contrast well after the first coat and offered to paint it with another color, at no additional charge. The entire project they were cautious about loving pieces, taping and covering, and cleaning up after their work. I have an older home with Plaster walls and their Level 3 preparation (a slightly higher cost) resulted in removing several blemishes and other problems with many walls. They also sanded and primed the bathroom, laundry, and kitchen with oil based primer and two coats semi gloss to ensure protection from imminent moisture. I was very pleased with their work and have already requested quotes for additional paint projects and am referring them to several friends and colleagues. I will use their services again. I have nothing but the best to say about David Cooley and the team he sent to paint Lighthouse Community Church - Carlos led the team of 3 to paint our Gym and Coffeehouse (and we later added on our Conference room which they fit into their schedule so well for the increased scope) doing everything from removing, rearranging, and replacing all of the furniture and clutter we had in each room, working quickly and around our strange schedules to make sure the building could still operate (and finishing all the painting within 2 weeks), and keeping everything shockingly clean while doing so. David was attentive throughout the project as well, dropping by twice to check in on things and scope out the scope increase when we decided we wanted to add another room into the project. Carlos, Franco, and Raul were all extremely friendly and professional and bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect! As you can see in the pictures, they're extremely meticulous and paid attention to all of the finest details that I wouldn't have even noticed. We've used Cooley Brothers for a few projects before this as well and the paint job has held up extremely well. Cooley Bros. just completed a 3 -week project for our 2-story house and did an absolutely excellent job. The work first included power washing, demolition of a wooden pergola, repair/removal of damaged wood balcony posts and railings, and various repairs of chipped stucco and wood deck areas. Then, the exterior of the entire house was painted including the stucco walls, garage door, shutters, balcony posts and floors, window frames, deck risers and brick fences. My husband and I are very happy with all of the high quality work that was done, and highly recommend the company. We chose Cooley Bros. based on the great reviews on Yelp and the fact that they were able to remove the pergola, unlike other painting companies we contacted. All of the employees that we dealt with were very professional, courteous and responsive, starting with Marco, the sales representative who came to the house to take measurements and provide an estimate. Marco also came to the house several times to check on the work and was always available by phone. He also helped coordinate the schedule with another contractor that will be installing new balcony railings. The men who worked on the house were mainly Jose, the foreman and Marlo, both of whom were always very hardworking and pleasant. For three weeks, they came promptly at 8 AM and worked until around 4 or 4:30 PM. I was home most of the time, and saw them work very efficiently and carefully. I was impressed at how quickly the two of them were able to do the demolition work for the large and heavy pergola, and arrange for the removal of the debris by another employee. They were very careful throughout the painting process, and did not damage any of the outdoor lights or multiple plants surrounding the house and fences. They cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day everyday. Jose never seemed to mind whenever I asked questions about work in progress and helped us choose colors for the various sections. He was also very patient when we had some scheduling issues with the other contractor. This is one of the times where Yelp ratings actually worked. We found Cooley brothers here back in 2015. Their work had a 2-year warranty, but it's been holding up very strong for 8 years already. Originally, we did have a little hick-up though -- the painter in charge of our house was a little too enthusiastic, he didn't create painted area sample on our wall as promised, so that we could decide if we liked the color or not. He just went ahead and painted the entire house before we had a chance to review the color we chose from a tiny swatch. The house came out a shade or two lighter than we had hoped for. But when we brought up this issue, I think it was David who showed up in person and tried to make everything right. That responsibility and care left us with a good impression. I had some 'minor' mental gripes during the process, which I knew would subside after a few weeks, and they have, nothing to do with the finished product, A+ grade. You will get the quote and interact with David Cooley before your project kicks off. He's a very nice guy and very knowledgeable. The most important people are the individuals who are on-site daily and doing the actual job. Our primary point of contact on-site was Daniel. He was a consummate professional and is great when it comes to detailed wood projects and painting, he really knows his stuff. Aside from having our house re-painted, Daniel and his crew (Carlos, Jesus, & Juan) re-built four pergola structures, and stripped and refinished our large front doors. As with any project, the BIG question is how well the materials hold up over time. We paid for the extended guarantee, so I'm confident we will be fine, besides that they used redwood, high end Sherwin Williams paint, and quality materials. Kudos to Daniel who checked in at the end of every day to see if we had questions, or if there was anything that didn't appear as expected. So...when we decided to have the exterior done, Cooley was an automatic choice. On a large, complicated job, Carlos and Nelson were an excellent, professional team, extremely reliable and good to work with. I needed a LOT of wood work done due to the shoddy workmanship of a previous contractor. Benjamin was the site foreman, and he was excellent.
