There are shirts, pants, surf shorts, as well as sweat shorts for customers to buy. The employee was very friendly. We chatted for a bit when I was browsing through the clothing rack. There were some shirts that I thought were cute. There was one shirt that I seen that was very contradicting. The design said Made in USA but the shirt is made in China. One day in the future I'll head back to Lei's Fashion to purchase one of the cute shirts or even a sweat short. The shirts I can use for going out while the shorts I can use for home. The buildings has been repainted and new designs added. Some tenants moved in while other tenants moved out. Newest addition to the lot is Longs Drugs store. The entrance is facing the ocean. Handicap parking is available with additional parking on the side of the building. Long time tenants are Makaha Chop Suey for Chinese takeout. Makaha Ohana Market for the liquor or snacks. The Wash Spot to do laundry. Lei's Fashion for clothing. Treasure Seekers Thrift Store and Collectibles for thrift store items. Other tenants include West Side Barbers, Team Realtors, Big Island Substance Abuse Center, North Shore Mental Health Center, and the church. I'm curious on what other retail or food establishment will make a home at the Makaha Gateway. 11/100

The grand opening itself was a nice event handful of craft vendors, handful of food vendors few being food trucks, kids Halloween treats area and oh a mini waianae historical museum from makaha to nanakuli. So interesting to read and hear via video bout the history of the coast. Alot of work went into it. Okay as far as the shops at Gateway itself Jeana summed it up. I was a lil surprised there was a grand opening when it felt and looked like a section of the center is still tenantless basically the entire section b4 the laundry mat looked deserted. Hope they find me shops soon or whatever the plan is for that area. Ample parking. Easy in and out multi entrances/exits.

Shirt shopping is always easy at any Kahala shop and this Hale'iwa Store Lots location is nice and open and spacious enough to browse was easy to scan and look for the particular print that made it easy so that it wouldn't be necessary to open it up and make a mess. The shop here is very nice and organized while the staff here is a delight helping with any questions that I had especially when I was asking for a specific size. Not just shirts but Olu Kai Slippers are found here as well, love the quality of the items here and glad to find the shirt I was looking for. Thank you!

Now that I know what it's really all about, you have to appreciate both the clothing and the mission. :) Although I wish they had a few more styles, colors, and/or clothing options, I am not complaining. I bought a great shirt that fits well with a simple but tasteful Hawaiian design on it. My wife purchased a tank top that she really likes, too. The store, which is fairly small, nonetheless has two fitting rooms so that you can try things on. The staff was friendly enough, and the products are neat and well organized. Pricing isn't cheap, but it's not higher than you would expect either. Many of the T-shirts are marked as fitted shirts, but to me they are normal. I don't fit into fitted shirts too well, and even after a wash, the shirt fits perfectly fine, so you are unlikely to have to size up. If you're in the area and are on board with the mission and message, you'd be remiss not to stop in!
