Over the last 3 years, their techs have always found repair issues which prior to that had not been an annual issue. This last situation, they flagged 2 items for repair and left. Weeks later, no call and no followup. Upon calling the company I was told a controller had to be replaced. I challenged the diagnosis and asked for someone to call me. No response. I had another company come by and they fixed a cut line in 5 mins and turned the system on. I'm not sure what happened to this company, but I was told by someone in the lawn care company that Dobson's was sold and my experience is not unique. Consider me to no longer be a customer of Dobson.

There were some problems with my lawn in the form of a fungus and patches of bent grass. A technician came out to review the problen, he called the owner .... the owner told him! KILL ALL OF IT! I never received a phone call .... they just proceeded on their own I came home at the end of August to find 60% of my lawn was sprayed with a round up type product to kill 60% of my lawn! I WAS IN SHOCK! I TERMINATED THIS COMPANY !!! Now I needed to find a new company to provide a solution to install a new lawn quickly since it was the beginning of Sept. Lucky lawn was highly recomended from an extremly reliable source. I called the Lucky Lawn office told them I needed someone to come out and look at my lawn. I was told it would probably be Jim Buchanan, the owner of the company. I was impressed! Two hours later I received a text message it was Jim Buchanan telling me he was in the area and he wanted to stop by but I was not home. I called him back, he told me he would be by the next day. At 10 Am he was at my door. Reviewed the entire property told me what had to be done and walked me through what Lucky Lawn would do and when. His approach was direct and spot on... he was there with a crew the following week to aerate the soil ,spread 10 yards of top soil, apply 100 pounds of grass seed along with hay! It is now a month since my nightmare and I have the best lawn I ever had! I was so fortunate to have found Lucky Lawn... I do not know who could have reacted so quickly and provide such great results! They have done and incredibly job! One more thing: Eden Farms maintains my property with the exception of the lawn service for lawn aplications. They pulled together a crew to pull up the existing dead lawn in 2 days and prepped it for Lucky Lawn. They also did an impossible job on very short notice! I am extreamly happpy and satisfied with both of these companies servicing my property!

I went with them last year to lay irrigation down in my front yard with a whole new system with foundation plantings to be watered by drip irrigation. With the really hot summer of 2025, I called two times for them to come out because the foundation plants were not adequately watered with drip irrigation. The first time, Reynolds came really quickly. The second time, I was told that I could change the amount of water myself on the app and that the team had already come out once to service me and that they had changed out 3 leaks in the drip system for free! The issue is, drip irrigation put in place did not reach all the plants - even though I was told it would- so I could increase the amount of water as much as I want and all it would do it drown some plants while others stay dry. Fast forward a year later, some very valuable trees have withered and died -3 japanese maples and 1 blue spruce along with some other shrubs. They also neglected to tell me that they reduced the amount of water everything was getting by 1/3 last summer because of the water shortage. They probably thought homeowners can change this themselves if plants look like they need more water. But we were away for July 2025 and came back to dead trees. An email telling us that they were doing this would have gone a long way. After thousands of dollars, I'm now back at square one and needing another system. Oh, they also told me they would change my old system (valves etc) and they didn't. They retrofitted everything to an old 30 year old system - I was told this when I got a new estimate recently. I was also told that the drip irrigation system was improperly installed, not suitable for my foundational plantings and were getting leaks because they didn't put a regulator in for that much water pressure. It would have been good for them to tell me that before installing the system. What a mess! Stay Away!

Since I have them, they only show up to turn the sprinklers on and off. I've had "only" them and my lawn has constantly died due to poor sprinkler types and lack of water getting to certain areas. Sprinkler care and lawn treatment seem to be horrible in Bergen County. You have to receiving a communication from this company is nice to know that they monitor these posts however when you turn a sprinkler system on it is customary to check the sprinklers for proper condition and if if they are doing the proper job not just turn it on and walk away from it. I would not have lost my lawn this year if my sprinkler company had my best interest at heart and checked each sprinkler head and the placement and the coverage they were supplying not just turn the sprinkler on. This past time when I requested that they come out they had to replace several heads and adjust locations that the sprinklers were supplying water to. That tells me that when they came out a few months ago they did just what the woman said was turn the system on and walk away and didn't check anything and for over $100 that's not good service I would hope that they change the way they service my property. It seems that they are very comfortable with a DISGRACEFUL three star rating rather than trying to earn more stars and be more considerate of the customer. Now I look and the three replaced heads are refurbished and not new new heads that I paid over three hundred dollars for. These pictures represent the failure of what I paid for and did not get.
