    Damaged leg

    Update 07/31: Makespace said that under the terms of service they are not liable for damages in fragile items. This is a very odd argument for a company that is paid to store household items. Worst of all, the crew that came to my house to pick up stuff saw all the labels saying fragile and the contents (including their manager, Carlos) and no one advised or expressed concerns on the risks. Clearly, in the way my goods were broken they were not careful in transit or in storing. So, if you have bricks to store, go ahead with them. But if you have something that you care about, stay away. Update 07/27: Makespace made me an "offer" today. They would give me 50 dollars on top of what they deemed to be the fair price of my damage, 30 dollars. This is less than half of my losses. And they want me to stop posting anything bad about them. So, be advised: they break your stuff, they will not reimburse you and they'll try to buy your silence. STAY AWAY!!!! Worst storage company possible. Get away from them. You expect a storage company would secure your belongings while in their custody. We had 11 items broken/damaged with them, in several different containers. Tried to reach customer service last Monday and no answer yet. Stay away from these guys if you want your stuff preserve

    The convenience of the service Makespace provides is offset by the damage they inflict on your furniture. Unless they improve on the quality control of furniture in their care I would recommend you think twice before using them. During the 3 months our antique mid-century dining table was with Makespace, one edge was crushed. Although the Makespace team had wrapped everything in furniture pads and plastic, this level of "protection" proved paltry when our 60 year old table was subjected to blunt force trauma. Perhaps it is par for the course for such a service but I will never use Makespace again. I suggest if you do use them, to only give them items you can easily replace. There is a high likelihood that you won't receive your furniture in the same condition as when you handed it over.

    It almost got a 5 star rating until the next day when I came in to put my stuff in my storage unit…read more Justin was so awesome the day before he went above and beyond. He was helpful and oh so knowledgeable he wanted me to be completely happy. Justin was not working the next day and there was an older gentleman name Jimmy (I believe) and when I walked into the office...he just looked up at me and stated rudely "our internet is down and it's going to be a while" --May I also add that he was on HOLD on the phone so he was just waiting not speaking to anyone... So I said I just had a question nothing to look up on the computer and then he said in a very curt fashion "It doesn't matter it's still going to be a while"...wait so you are telling me that you are on hold-not speaking to anyone and I have a question that you do not have to look on the computer for and you and I are just going to stare at each other (it was a quick yes or no based question, it didn't even require that much thought)?? Then I went to my locker and found that they had forgot to take their lock off my storage unit...so I went back up to the office (ish) and I just sat down in the chair until Jimmy was ready to his his job and take his company's lock off my unit so I could actually store my things in a unit I was paying for. He finally gets off the phone...and I blankly state that I need their lock off my storage unit...then he tries to explain why he was so rude (their internet had supposedly been down for hours and he was stuck on hold)....So you were stuck on hold and you were frustrated...I get it...very dramatic...but 1. don't treat your customers like garbage because you are having an off day...2. I stated my question was a yes or no...no internet or computer needed...just answer my question. If you come in make sure you are dealing with Justin...not this individual who clearly needs to be retrained.
