Covid has caused so many plans to be changed or cancelled, but, it also reminds us that there are amazing people that want to help others. My friend and I found out two days before her wedding that the MUA she hired, had to cancel due to potential Covid exposure. After the shock wore off, my friend and I were planning to do our own makeup. Which, would have been an amazing feat since neither of us wear make up...like AT ALL! I didn't want my friend to have to do her own makeup on her wedding day. She deserves to be pampered and not have to worry about trying to attempt to do her own makeup. Within the hour Gina (one of the owners) responded and said she would be able to do our makeup and she was super close to our hotel. The stars had aligned for us. Gina was kind, personable, professional, on time, listened to what we were going for and most importantly made my friend's day. Gina, I know Patrice and I said it repeatedly, but, we can not thank you enough. We loved our looks! I did a 1:1 workshop with Yari and let me just say WOW. Yari was very knowledgeable, fun and super helpful. I was terrible at makeup specially with eyeshadows. When I am paying money for my makeup to be done, I expect a level of expertise. Yari was a complete professional and in constant communication in the days up to my appointment answering all questions that I had no matter how small. I had a great experience with Yari. I scheduled my appointment about a month in advance. I didn't send a picture, just told her nothing bold or crazy...and she delivered. I always get nervous when someone does my makeup, mostly because they get my foundation color completely wrong and I also end up looking like a completely different person. Unfortunately, I would have to give Suite Bella the rating of only 1 star. Several weeks ago, I booked a makeup appointment with one of three girls. Prior to the makeup appointment, I had high expectations and that Suite Bella would live up to the social media hype, but I was sadly mistaken. The finished makeup look was sloppy and the foundation was caked on to the core. The look was not subtle and not what I asked for. Makeup should enhance your natural beauty, not detract from it. The "light-coverage" foundation was the furthest thing from light.The specific makeup artist did not take suggestions or criticism too well when an honest critique of the makeup look was brought to her attention. She did not care to hear a client's honest opinion when she asked the client beforehand to give her a heads-up and be open about the look. The critique was given in a kind, gentle manner. She merely said the makeup would settle in as the night progressed. The issue with the makeup look did not seem to matter to her since she was the not the one attending the event. She did not bother putting herself in her client's shoes or take a step back to reevaluate her work. Also as the client oddly enough, I was the one initiating friendly conversation and small talk. It also seemed as if she was rushing the session, just wanting to get me out the door as quickly as possible. After the makeup catastrophe, I ended up regretting my decision of making the appointment with her in the first place. I took the entire makeup look off, but kept the eyeshadow and false lashes on. It was the only part of the look that was decently done. Suite Bella has lost the possibility of a loyal client and lost recommendations from me. In the future, I plan to not utilize their services for any upcoming events. Lastly, there is also an inconsistency with the makeup looks via social media (Instagram) versus how it looks in person. My tip for Instagram users is to look very closely at the images and think twice before making a decision to book an appointment. read more
