Brows are probably the worst thing to do in my makeup routine. I have sparse fine hair. Like most people, I'd heard of permanent makeup but knew of it a faded green/blue eyebrows on middle aged women. Enter microblading. It's a new technique that gives you semi-permanent natural looking results. When I found out Parie does this technique I knew I had to get mine done. As there is no one else I would trust more with my face! My first session took about 2 hours. After signing some forms, Parie talked to me about skin type, skin tone, what my brow goals were, and explained to me the procedure and what to expect. She then designed my brows for me based on what o requested and what she thought would look best on my face. After I saw them drawn on and was happy with them Parie applied an anesthetic numbing cream and we waited about 20 minutes for it to settle in. During this time Parie mixed up the pigment taking into account the skin on top would change the final color. After the strokes were finished Parie covered my brows with dye. Gave me aftercare instructions and I was done. Much like tattooing, there is an art to microblading. The brows need to be customized to your face. I would highly recommend Parie! We booked Parie to do the makeup for my fiancé at our wedding. We paid her a deposit. But the week before our wedding, the state and county orders came down banning any gathering and Parie was not able to do my makeup. All of our vendors were understanding and refunded any deposit we paid them. But Parie has refused to give back our deposit even though she didn't do any work for us. I waited all day and even followed up late afternoon, she told she was driving and never got back to until I texted her the following morning. I asked for a quote twice, she finally responded and asked for my phone number never to call or respond on yelp again. I contacted her again to remind her...nope. So I found Parie on Yelp and died over her portfolio; so amazing. I did my trial with her ($150 ) and loved how my makeup turned out. We signed a contract and my date was held. Roughly 15 days out, Parie tells me she has a "family emergency" and no longer can do my makeup. She gives me two referrals, which is fantastic, though I don't end up going with either. I didn't put up a stink BC if your family truly is sick, I can't be a brat about makeup. Unfortunately, while getting ready for my wedding, I see photos on Parie's Instagram posted from the night before... Where she was going someone else's makeup in Denver. I went through some of her reviews and found maybe 5 other brides she had cancelled last minute on. In addition, that ridiculously expensive wedding trial wasn't refunded-- "there's like really nothing I can do". I wouldn't have done a trial with her if I knew she wouldn't be able to do my wedding makeup, cause me a lot of stress leading up to my wedding, and blatantly lie to me. To future brides, Parie will be able to do your makeup amazing... If she decides you are worth her time. However after contacting her via email several times and her confirming with me that she can do my makeup on my wedding day and I have to add I mentioned my wedding date several times to her throughout the 6 months, on the actual month of my wedding, I contacted her to confirm everything, she informs me that she got my wedding date wrong and that she is out of town on my wedding day. Hired these guys for our wedding and was simply not impressed. Here's why: 1. Travel is paid for, yet they were still late which contributed to the bride being late to church. 2. They spent 2 hours on one bridesmaid who had hair down to her chin (simple blow out needed). Spent less than an hour on the bride's hair. 3. The bride's mom looked like a big frizzy hairball. 4. The sister of the bride looked like she just came off the beach. 5. Within 3 hours of the makeup being finished, the bride was in the bathroom redoing everything. 6. Even though they were running late and doing a terrible job, the assistant found the time to brush her own hair and pluck her own eyebrows. Who's wedding was this again? I talked to her on the phone to confirm she was available on the day of my wedding. She confirmed her availability and I scheduled a trial consult with her. Unfortunately, when I contacted her the day before my trial to confirm the time, she cancelled because she was sick. I understood that she was ill and we rescheduled for a week and a half later. Two days before my re-scheduled trial she contacted me and told me that she would have to be done with my makeup ON MY WEDDING DAY at 12:30pm (my ceremony starts at 6:30pm!!!!) because of an event she is doing in LA. I wish she would have mentioned this before. Now I am 3 weeks away from my wedding and have to find a new makeup artist. If you want professionalism and accountability, I wouldn't suggest Parie. If there were 10 stars to give, I'd give them all. I feel lucky to have had Parie for my wedding hair and makeup. I could write a novel here to sing her praises, but in the interest of time and your attention span, I've made a list. 1. She was recommended to me by a good friend whose wedding I had attended only weeks earlier. Good friend looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day. No-brainer. 2. I was in a bind before my wedding. I discovered late that I did not like the hair and makeup studio I'd previously booked; my trial was underwhelming, uncomfortable, and more stressful than fun. I called Parie just weeks before the big day and somehow she was able to work with me to make everything happen in a short amount of time (not that I'd EVER recommend going about your wedding business this way). 3. My trial was just...awesome. She totally put me at ease. It felt like catching up with a girlfriend. She spent so much time and took such care, and the best part was, I trusted her completely. I'm not the most decisive person - especially when faced with a million options - so to have someone with insight and expertise as far as making people look good was important to me. I wanted to be able to ask my makeup artist what they thought and actually trust their opinion. 4. (really #3, continued) She gets it. Explaining how you want to look can be tricky, right? When you say "I want my makeup to look natural," or "I still want to look like myself," that can be interpreted a lot of ways. I love that she worked with me to figure out what I had in mind and that it didn't involve 10 coats of paint to get there. 5. The time I spent with Parie on my wedding day was relaxing and fun. The day started off like a circus, so the few zen moments I had while we did hair and makeup were worth their weight in gold. She was always calm, smiling, and ready to roll with anything. That's the kind of situation you want before you walk down an aisle and participate in a meaningful ceremony, you know? 6. I loved my makeup. I loved my hair. Everything stayed in place. By mid-reception, I was sweating like I'd run a marathon wearing a parka in the desert (no one tells you how hot it gets inside a wedding dress!) and yet, my hair and makeup still looked good. I was amazed! 7. My sister loved her makeup and she looked incredible. My sister-in-law loved her makeup and SHE looked incredible. Mom, aunt, cousin - same thing. Their makeup looked beautiful. Parie left this operation with a million fans. We're all just waiting for the next time we can book her for something. 8. To top it all off: Parie is sweet, genuine, patient and so kind. She is incredibly talented at what she does. Plus she's funny, down-to-earth, positive and professional. I'm thrilled that I was able to work with her. I was in a bit of a bind as I was out of the country and I (irresponsibly) didn't start looking for someone to do my makeup for a wedding I was attending until about 2 or 3 weeks before the date. Thankfully Parie was able to squeeze me in on a Sunday morning (the day of the wedding) and her work was flawless. I didn't really have to say anything about the style. I just let her take the driver seat and do her thing. (She did both my hair and makeup.) The wedding ceremony I attended was an all day event (i.e. 11am to midnight) and the makeup and hair looked perfect throughout-- especially in photos. I'm not much of a dolled up, get glam kind of girl but for these special occasions, I'll definitely be keeping her in mind should I be in the area again and need some glam squad services. I was extremely frustrated with correspondence with Parie. I contacted her to do two weddings (my friend's and mine). She was very flakey. I contacted her on a Monday. She responded back a few texts then said that she couldn't speak til Wednesday. I didn't hear back from her til Saturday. We started a second convo. A few texts in, she says she needs to shut off her phone for the evening. What kind of customer service is this?!? I asked her 3 times for her pricing.
