This was my first time getting my lashes done in Hawaii (despite living here my entire life) and it was the best experience I've had by far. Tina is extremely personable. Despite only meeting her today, the entire experience was comfortable and welcoming, talking to her was like catching up with an old friend. I've had my lashes done in other states and this was the first time someone actually sat down with me and discussed with me what I wanted and what look I was going for. Normally they'll just go in and do what they think will suit my face. Tina was able to show me pictures and was very accommodating in spite of my lack of preparation (as I had no idea what exactly I wanted - since no one had sat down and really discussed it with me before). She was extremely patient and meticulous throughout the entire process and often complimented my natural eyelashes, which are apparently very long and I have a lot of them (I had no idea so that was nice to hear, haha). I'm disappointed with my experience because there was very little communication throughout the appointment. The lash set I requested was nothing elaborate--just a natural, fuller lash extension--and I expected the appointment to take around 1-1.5 hours. Instead, the service took over 3 hours. What concerned me most was that I was never informed that the appointment was taking significantly longer than expected or that something may have gone wrong with the application. I also was never asked if I needed a break, needed to use the restroom, or was comfortable continuing for that extended amount of time. I completely understand that services can sometimes take longer than anticipated, especially if there are unexpected issues. However, I believe the customer should be kept informed when there is a significant delay. A simple explanation or check-in would have made a big difference. Overall, the lack of communication and the unexpectedly long appointment made the experience frustrating and uncomfortable. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because better communication with clients would greatly improve the experience. read more

This review is long over due. I hadn't done my lashes before so I was kind of nervous. I was referred to Tina by a friend because I liked the way her lashes looked. Tina is amazing! Her website is clear and professional and so are her services. Scheduling and appointment online was so easy and I'm glad she had an opening for me because it was only two days before my trip to Australia (I wanted to look extra cute ;)) when I got there Tina had a mini consultation with me which I thought was very professional and made me feel comfortable. This also made me feel relieved that she didn't put just any type of lashes like I've seen some other places do. The whole. Tina's studio is small but there is parking located next to the building which is super convenient. The whole procedure took about an hour and a half because Tina took her time on each lash which I am so grateful for! She is down to earth, straight up, and also funny. I got lots of compliments on my lashes because they looked totally natural, with a little sass. Whenever I want to get them done again, I will for sure return to Tina. I highly recommend. So I found this place from a Groupon ad. It was one reg lashes with one free refill for about 99$ fri pin also ran some other additional discounts with it so it was another 20% off! I saved about 20$ more and used ebates for even more savings! What a deal! So there was a phone number on the Groupon and I texted it to see if there was any openings before I even purchased it. Luckily I could get one a week away and she was also very helpful as it was my first time getting lash extensions. She sent out confirmations by email and was always quick to respond to any questions. The studio is kind of by market city but moreso by gazen. It's the random two sort building right next to it by the stop light. There is only one stall for parking. It can be confusing but the easiest way to find it is look for the two stop lights and the stall is right in between it. You'll see a river and a gated fence right b fire it. The stall isn't the one that's directly in front of the building but more off to the side. So I get there and she was super friendly. She asked me what I liked and didn't and since I never had extensions before I just trusted her with her knowledge. She also noticed I had glasses and asked if I used them daily so we knew not to go with the longest last first in case they hit the frames when I blink. The appointment was about 2 hours or so. I didn't notice cause I fell asleep majority of the time. At the end she gave me some pointers and this lash brush to use after setting up my next appointment. HOLY MOLY!!! Ashley is so awesome! I love my lashes!! She's super sweet and easy to talk to. I've never gotten my eyelashes done before so, I was nervous. As soon as I came into the salon, she greeted me with a warm smile and a hug. My first set of eyelashes lasted more than three weeks, which is amazing for eyelashes. Most usually last about 2 weeks to at the most 3 weeks. She has two different lash styles and I am loving the "C" set! It is more of a wow factor compared to a more natural looking "B" set. I just got my first relash done today. She's located in the Paul Maria Salon. There's a small lot on the side to park in. I would totally recommend her to anyone!! The gate to the business was locked. Upon checking their website, their homepage said: "Lash Up Studio Hawaii ... closed." I called the main number a few times and even attempted to message the owner on Instagram, but no response. I hate to write bad reviews, but this is terrible customer service! I bought a Groupon and scheduled an appointment but no one was there. It is a random building with a locked gate. Because it is a Groupon you have to book online. The owner said she didn't have any appointment scheduled even though it was booked in March and appointment was in May. I tried to book again and received an error message on the website, not able to book. She calls me today and tells me, it's not a right fit?? What kind of business is this? I found this place on groupon, and thought he take a chance. From the moment I booked my appointment everything was clearly organized and laid out. A couple days before my appointment I also recieved an email with parking instructions and a list of do's and don'ts. This was perfect for me! When I actually met Tina I was immediately comfortable with her and she was so open. She told me to make myself comfortable and then I filled out her questionnaire. She did something no technician has done before she asked me what I wanted and then proceeded to tell me what she thought based off my lash condition. Got a Groupon for a Lash Lift as I wanted to do something different. After having extensions for a while from a different place, they ruined my lashes and it took me a while for my lashes to cycle themselves out and grow back stronger. Anyways, enter, Tina into my life. She was probably one of the most lovely people I have met in my entire life! My lash lift went by so quickly because of our amazing conversation and it has been a while (probably January) and I still have a slight curl in my eyelashes (because trust me, my eyelashes were by no means curly before I went to Tina) I have the typical, straight outward growing lashes and I still get the results I want when I put on mascara. Here's the story: I found Ashley on Groupon and am SO happy I did. I am actually more upset that I didn't find her earlier seeing as I was in Hawaii for 3 years. So....I've never had lash extensions, or any service other than brow waxing, so I was a little nervous. The staff at the salon was very friendly, and Ashley's studio is very clean, inviting and relaxing. Ashley is super friendly and approachable, and made me feel so relaxed and explained everything to I was confident when I made my choice of lashes and service. There are A, B and "Kardashian" choices LOL, so I went with the "B"/middle option. She talked to me the whole time she was working, and checked in on me to make sure I was doing alright. My lashes look AMAZING! I even went surfing the next two days, and they held up (I look amazing in my GoPro videos! lol) On land, I look like I have makeup on without looking overdone, and they are just the right length for holiday/new years parties! Tina is super duper awesome! The thing I really love about Tina is that she cares about YOU and the health of your lashes! She's not just about making money. I know from a personal experience! I've been getting lashes with Lash Up Studio Hawaii for about two years now and because of that, my lashes were getting weak and bare (which is totally normal for how long I've been getting extensions). Tina encouraged me to stop the extensions for a bit because she started to notice my lashes thinning. Trust me! When she told me this I was like "NO LASHES!? WHAT!? HECK NO!" Tina recommended taking a few vitamins and she also sold me a lash volume serum that she sells right in her studio. Now, my lashes are back to normal and I'll be going in for my first appointment back later today! And I cannot fricken wait! My friends got theirs done elsewhere and their ladies took much less time to do it, charged higher price, and their lashes were off within 2 - 3 weeks whereas mine LASTED ...it's week 7 and I still have some on. My mom bought me a groupon so I went for my session. I've had 1 lash session before and it was more natural so I wanted something a little more dramatic. I showed Ashley a picture of what I had previously so she was able to judge what length to go. She finished pretty quickly (within 2 hours). When I first looked I was very surprised. Love Ashley! Her technique is amazeballs. A month before I got a new lash set from lash luxe, was not happy, they upsold me volume set, was not voluminous or full looking.
