The last doctor I…read moresaw took the time to properly evaluate my situation and helped me get to a solution, which I truly appreciate. That being said, the process to get to that point was extremely frustrating. I was given four different trial pairs of contacts that didn't work, and for a long time I didn't even know my actual prescription. During that time, I experienced eye strain, headaches, and ongoing visual discomfort while continuing to wear an outdated prescription. It was also very difficult to get in contact with the office. I attempted to call multiple times to schedule a retest, but the phone was rarely answered, which made it hard to get the help I needed without going in person. While I'm grateful that the issue was resolved in the end, the overall experience was still stressful and time-consuming. I hope the office can improve communication and follow-through so other patients don't have a similar experience.

She is such a friendly and kind individual who makes visiting the eye doctor such a fun and carefree experience. She does a great job of explaining things without using too much terminology/jargon that is challenging for the average person to understand. She will also take a great deal of time to make sure you are comfortable in your contacts if you choose to do a fitting. I still remember her helping a pre-teen me put in my contacts for the first time and her patience and advice she gave me. There's just one optometrist here: Dr. Dozon. I've found Dr. Dozon to be extraordinarily good at listening, good at explaining what I don't understand, and competent and thorough in his exams. He's always contributing his services to the community, so by supporting his business, I feel like I'm also supporting a good cause. Despite the relatively small size, the office stays up-to-date with equipment and best practices. The vibe here is far different from most optometrists. The office is comfortable, unhurried, and personal. I always get the sense of being served, not "processed." The office has soft lighting and soft, comfortable furniture. The biggest downside is when selecting frames. The selection of frames is pretty good, but they are generally reluctant to special order if what you want isn't in stock. To achieve the best vision, it is vitally important that frames fit perfectly; unfortunately, the staff always encourage me to look at style first, and they're often unable to answer specific questions about sizing and fitting. To be honest, you shouldn't shop for glasses here unless you already know your bridge width, temple length, and lens width. If you do visit, be sure to ask for directions the first time. You have to go around back of the building then up to the second floor.

I first came to definitive vision after pain in my eye led me to seek optometry care that was near my work. They were able to get me in right away in an emergency appointmen. When I met with Dr. Heiss, she was quick to tell me what was wrong with my eye and offered solutions to help. She gave me some eye wipes to trial which worked wonderfully. I then came back for my annual eye exam at a different location and everyone was helpful. I like that it's a smaller place, but it's certainly more expensive than anywhere I've been in the past, so that's kind of a bummer. I love the eyeglass selection, they're very stylish and unique. This year, I decided to take my favorite frames and put updated lenses in them, I love that that's an option. I'd recommend coming here, because it feels like a posh boutique and everyone is helpful and friendly, but the cost might be a bit prohibitive for people. Or maybe that's just my eye insurance!

I had ordered a new pair that the lenses weren't quite right on my distance bifocal. Within 6 days, I had the new pair exchanged. WOW. I'm 66, and I think it's the best eyesight I've had in at least 13 years!! I'll be back next year for a 2nd pair, too! To be able to see as I drive, and yet have the ability to read print in the same eyeglass pair has been a true gift for me! It was a cascading series of events. First the doctor screwed up the prescription, so the glasses…read morethat were delivered were wrong. Wore them for a couple of weeks trying to "get my brain used to them", which was a disaster. Returned them, they discovered the mistake. Sent them off to get another pair. Came back two weeks later and the second pair was also incorrect. Had to send them back to the lab with the promise of "we will expedite this and get them in a day or two". Well that didn't happen. Finally two weeks later I got the correct pair. So far no attempt to keep my business after all this.
