He supported all local musicians and artists. I am sorry that the one other review posted here was from a bad experience. Chuk retired in 2015, so he probably wasn't around then. All I can say is that for over 40 years, The Mad Hatteur was about the only place in Fond du Lac where you could get concert tickets, rolling papers and the latest in vinyl. Looking back I can't imagine wanting to ever leave. Actually I never did. But I leave I did, and I mourned it for the first decade. Then during the middle of the second decade I ceased to miss aspects and eventually came 'round to mourning it again, but for entirely unexpected reasons. But yesterday I reached into my 500Gb hard drive and scooped out a selection of CDs to cram inside my iPod Classic to listen to on a drive to a distant city called Plover (I like to childishly call it P Lover) for what was to be a single trip for work. It turned into two days, which wasn't a bad thing. During the drive I broke out Stoner Witch, The Melvins 90s major label disc. Listening to that in my very awesome new Pioneer car stereo was way better than my nice but not sturdy home speakers. So upon todays end of workday I wanted to find a used Cd store or a thrift store that might have something cool. Instead I found an awe inspiring little store that's chock full of EVERYTHING, that is if everything is rock music related. I didn't bother to look at the possibility they might also sell schlocky country music by crappy rock musicians that decided to go the so wrong right wing GOP path to Ooops. I wandered into the wrong thought. I found a place that is so awesome I will make this area a destination instead of only a place to stop for a whiz or perhaps because work brought me. GO! Don't hesitate. Radio Kaos Records is f'n the place!

We had a few drinks and my buddy got to talking about the place he purchased that council, and records and we decided to head down and check it out. The owner, Steve, treated us like kings, he told great stories and helped my pick out a counsel I could ship home, and them he kicked in several free records. I couldn't believe the knowledge and hospitality. Not only will I be back, but I highly recommend you stop in if you are in Maddison. The place is unique and definitely "Groovy"!!

X-ray oven mitts, talk-to-your-cat spray, snarky socks, music boxes, crazy cat lady action figures, you name it! The CDs are very fairly priced, even the newer ones, and if there is an album that you want that they do not have in-stock, they are more than happy to order it for you. I've had a few CDs I was considering buying, but wasn't sure what the music was like, so the owner would just put the music on in the store so I could preview prior to buying. Super cool staff/owner, always changing inventory and definitely one of my favorite shops in the area. No scratch that. My FAVORITE shop in the area!
