The one time I had tires installed and one leaked, I simply brought it back and they replaced the faulty valve stem within 5 minutes of me getting there, solving the problem. For major mechanical I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else. The only downside is that Sparky won't do engine replacements anymore and I've been looking at getting a 69 Camaro and would want him to do a full engine swap for a rebuilt one rather than try to do the work myself.

The gas prices can be a little more expensive than other places nearby, and their air pump could use some maintenance, but as far as car service goes, they're wonderful. I went in for my inspection and they were able to get me in first thing the next morning. They were done in about two hours, but it was no problem for me to leave my car there until I was able to pick it up after work. More recently, I was having problems with my check engine light going off and on periodically, so I stopped there on a whim. I told them I'd be happy to leave it or bring it back when it was more convenient for them, but he came out right away to do a quick check. It was nothing serious - he fixed it quickly and talked me through what might've caused it. There was no charge for this and now I can rest easy knowing there's no crazy damage happening inside my car! I've never once felt like I was being cheated out of money or good quality service! I brought my…read more2003 Mini S JCW in to the shop because I was concerned that the engine might have overheated for a minute or so and I wanted them to check the radiator thermostat to see if it was working correctly. I also needed them to address a problem with the power door locks. They indicated that there was nothing wrong with the thermostat, but that the radiator fluid might have been compromised. Close to 2 months later, and over $4,500 poorer, I got my car back from the service station. They upsold me on a need to replace the oil pan gasket, which was the bulk of the charge. I didn't see any issue with oil leakage or loss to justify this, but went with their recommendations since they were the experts. They also damaged the oil pressure sensor during the repair and couldn't figure out how to fix it (we compromised on them installing an external oil pressure gauge, which I had to purchase). I now found out that they also damaged the wheel speed sensor (which per a repudiable outside shop showed signs of being removed and reinstalled with a pliers). This has resulted in the classic "Mini Trifecta", and has cost me an additional $400 to get repaired. I was afraid to bring my car back to the Mini Dealership for repair after the last mess they made. Now I know why my brother in law (who also drives a Mini) drives an additional 100 miles one way to get to Buffalo to have them work on his. As my Mini is starting to get old I was considering getting a new one. With this kind of local support I certainly can't justify that.

After several years with the our first Mini, we looked to acquire another Clubman, but the sales tactics used against us were overtly predatory, especially for someone that was already a customer. This included withholding information from us, like equity in our vehicle, until we signed an agreement and gave them a down payment for a new vehicle. They told us that they could inform us of the equity only when we came to pick up the vehicle in several weeks to several months. We asked several times for them to at least provide a range, and they refused. This pushed us to look elsewhere for a vehicle, and no other local dealers put us through that during the process. BMW of Rochester, Audi of Rochester, Ide Volkswagon, and others, were all wonderful to deal with and were very transparent about the entire process and the costs involved. We decided to not pursue another transaction with Mini of Rochester due to this experience. We did however turn the vehicle in to them, and when we did this, they agreed to cover the disposition cost, as a courtesy, as we were 15k miles under the lease agreement. It was our fault for not getting this in writing, as we've now received a bill from Mini Financial for the cost of the disposition, as the dealership never paid it. The dealership has now admitted that there was a miscommunication on their end and that they would no longer be covering the disposition costs. So we are left footing the bill due to their mix-up, which is inappropriate at best. Our experience with multiple salespersons, managers, and customer service representatives at Mini of Rochester have all exhibited a complete lack of care for their customers. If you're looking for a Mini in the WNY area, you'd do yourself a favor by heading to Mini of Buffalo instead.

Also during the holidays and busy times of the year Ups uses this location as a pick up station for over flow packages, more convenient for me then going to the regular UPS pick up center.

I don't live in Rochester, but when I rolled into town wth my 15-year-old Subaru, the exhaust system (resonator and exhaust pipe) just fell apart. I could tell it was busted because suddenly my meager 2.6 liter engine sounded like it was revving for a Nascar race. I only had a day in Rochester to burn, so I set an appointment for 8am at the nearest Mavis which seemed to be the safest bet for getting a quick turnaround. When I arrived on the dot at 8am, they informed me they didn't have an exhaust mechanic and redirected me to Cole Muffler (also a Mavis branch) across town. When I got to Cole/Mavis, I was greeted by Tyler (? I think) and he let me know that they would inspect the car and let me know ASAP what needs to be done. After 20 minutes or so he escorted me to the car and pointed to the exact parts that were failing (rusted) and why they should be replaced. He gave me the option of letting the less rusted pipe stay. No upsell. I opted for the full replacement because it was time for this car (16 years old). He told me it would be 1.5-2 hours so I took a long walk. When I got back the car was in tip-top shape and the bill was less than I feared. They charged for parts plus $160 for labor. This included a new resonator and new exhaust pipe. Didn't need a new muffler. Total was about $650 including labor. I really appreciate this branch of Mavis/Cole for attending to the needs of my car in such a professional manner, and on the spot when I needed to have the car for other business in Rochester. This branch brings a positive vote of confidence for Mavis, even if it isn't on their main sign.

It was the only issue as on both may 18th and June 5th I got a code read and that was the only code that came up. I got it "fixed" at Cole muffler June 6th and the car was ready for me June 8th. I leave and immediately when I turn the AC on the car starts shaking. I went to go get it fixed and they quote me 500 dollars and they said that both me and two code readers just didn't notice this issue that they say has been here all along. They say a catalytic converter "technically" wouldn't cause an issue with the radiator fan, turns out although rare it can! Regional manager said a radiator fan wouldn't show up as a code and then once I said hey I googled it he pivots and said oh well it would if only blank happened. I told him hey I can show the code readings I did and he said he didn't want them. I had a lady on the customer service line say it's sort of expected that when u get work done that something might happen? This (in my opinion) made me wonder if that's what they do to get more work. If you're hoping the Mavis Discount Tire relations makes the work safe I would heavily warn you to not risk it. I habe a warranty for the catalytic converter fix that covered bad workmanship and steve told me he didn't know what he wanted me to do. Okay so I got it checked at another place and the issue could not have been here all along, so they were lying! Cole Muffler told me the issue was the radiator fan and in the two days that I left the car there, just to be told by Steve the issue was not his problem the radiator module got affected as well! A radiator fan is not something that you can just drive for months or even weeks and have your car be okay!
