They talk about working on RVs so I made an appt. I told them that the generator oil had to be changed along with the engine oil. When I came to pick up the van. He informed me I had NO GENERATOR. The pipe is visible from the rear of the van!! He said to come back the next day. Only positive thing I could think of that he offered to check it out the next day. Just got an inspection done here. asked them to remove/replace two rusted bolts and replace a gasket. Already had it at another 2 shops, both stated that was the only issue they saw that would throw the cat code. So take it to the muffler shop after setting up an appointment 4 days prior because the other shops wont/cant cut rusted bolts. I left it the night before with what i wanted done on the early bird fill out form. Get a call at 4pm next day telling me to cut 2 bolts off and change the gasket its gonna be $300 and that my resonator is magically shot and my flex pipe is shredded. both other shops i was under my vehicle and not a single thing wrong with the exhaust which i had told both shops to check because of the cat code popping up and disappearing. when i pick up the car the service writer looks at me and asks if i had already been under the vehicle because what i asked to have repaired was very specific. I said yes and that is why i know they was lying about the other stuff needing to be repaired. he did not even respond, I paid for my inspection and plate light bulb and left. :Update: Spoke to Tim, Apparently I have given attitude to the service writer and was told to go find another shop. I attached the response from Tim and apparently he watched video of every time I have come in and has seen I have given attitude to his service writers. So the $15,000+ I have spent there with no issues in the past three years on 5 different vehicles. Apparently Every time I have given attitude. This last time I was in, your right I gave the writer attitude after he lied about repairs to my exhaust needing to be done over the phone. That weren't part of an inspection so I wouldn't fail on those as he said. But too cut 2 rusted bolts and replace a gasket on a pipe near the car is at least $300. Ok check your video of what he said when he called me, Tim. And listen to what he said. Because I only had attitude after he said resonator was shot and flex pipe is shredded. And I have been under the vehicle 2 times before bringing it to you. And nothing wrong with the exhaust except the other shops couldn't cut rusted bolts off. read more

Excellent experience! Had taken my Subaru Forester to my regular mechanic for exhaust system work, but a new flange needed to be welded onto the CAT converter and my guy doesn't do welding. He recommended this shop to do the welding. They were willing to do the work --- in spite of the fact that they weren't going to get to do the rest of the exhaust work --- contacted my mechanic to make sure that what they were doing would work with what my guy would do later, and completed the job in a timely fashion and at a fair price. read more

I am so surprised finding this shop on Yelp that the rating was so low then I remembered that people are more likely to review when mad than happy. I am so impressed with this shop my husband accidentally put no ethanol gas in a diesel engine (the handle was green ) and drove here as it was across the street. they fit us in between appointment, even went as far as to have an employee buy diesel containers and get diesel overnight off hours!!! They quoted us anywhere from a $1000 to $2000 depending on how far the gas had gotten then charged us about $600 overall for 2 days in shop ... fitting us in, dropping the tank, cleaning it, checking lines, FILLING THE TANK FRESH ... I got a detailed list and I have some repair shop knowledge and I'm sure this was a good price and GREAT SERVICE ... never been charged less than my quote by that much ... will definitely be back!! thank you so much!!!! read more

Service work is excellent, and reasonably-priced. That said, their customer service and on-time-delivery is highly dependent on who you work with. Owner/Mgr Mark D. is not at all customer-oriented, makes promises they can't keep, & does not communicate even when promised deadlines are missed. Case in point, muffler repair was well-handled by Shane and then Mike (who are great), done quickly and expertly. Subsequent NYS inspection led to struts replacement, 2 deadlines committed & missed, and not (at all) communicated (not even a courtesy call), causing me to be without a car for 3 more full days. read more

Two weeks it took for this shop to change the oil, fix the hood latch, and replace a window motor. And, to add insult to injury, when the work was finally done, the price was $100 more than I was quoted, which included a $30 charge to fix a tire that went flat while sitting in the parking lot (?). The owner (Mark) blamed the delays on his supplier, which does happen, but two weeks? And he never once reached out to me- forcing me to call repeatedly to check on the status of the repairs. Only after objecting to the new total and delays did he finally credit me $50 for the inconvenience. I always make it a point to do business with small businesses within my community. Having had quality work done here (at a fair price), I was appalled at the owner's poor customer service skills. On previous visits, an honest, attentive young man named Dakota was my service tech and did me a solid every time. But because of this business owner's poor performance, I won't be back. Rip off is what they are had 4 struts install and rear brakes done and a alignment for $2000.dollars. Drove my parents car 3 weeks later and notice when braking the steering wheel shakes and the brake pedal pulsated when applied. Had him take it back to look at it today and they said the front brakes where bad along with the wheel bearings in the rear. Are you for real they should have notice that when doing the struts since they replaced the rear and what didn't look at the front. And also didn't notice the rear bearing where bad when doing the alignment. RIGHT so they wanted another $800.00 to do the front brakes and rear bearings. My father is old and didn't know better and they took advantage of him. read more

Later that Afternoon; I call to make sure we are on pace, they tell me they haven't looked at it, but they will shortly. Around 5:30; Steve has gone home. The car isn't done, will be done tomorrow morning. Uggh, K, Thx, Bye. Call late morning the next day, car still not done, will be complete around noon. Call at 130; still not done, decide to stop bothering them and let them call me. They call the next day at 930 AM, no apology for setting me back 2 days, just 'cars done, come get it' If these guys ran a shop like this in Boston, they would be defunct within weeks. I guess the high level of traffic and queue of cars says that they are doing something right. However, their reviews say something else. My husband was referred here awhile ago for his vehicle from a neighboring mechanic and each time that he's gotten the repairs, he has had an overall good experience. This mechanic is not cheap, but it is more reasonable than several others within the Greater Rochester area. We weren't offered any special deals or concessions, however they'll work with you on payment options. This is not our family preferred mechanic, but my husband is content with the repairs made here. read more

My Chevy Avalanche was in this shop for almost 6 weeks just to change the brake lines. That amount of time is unbelievable. The 1st 4.5 weeks I think my truck just sat in the parking lot while they moved others ahead of me. Finally, when I started badgering them and calling more frequently to ask for status updates (b'cse they won't call you), they finally started to work on it. But each time they promised a delivery date, they'd have some excuse and push to a later date. If it hadn't been b'cse I couldn't drive it out of their shop (since it had no brakes) I would've just shown up one day and just gotten in the truck and drove it to somewhere else where they could service it. Although there was a communication problem a little issue and I kept getting blown off four times I called I'll get back to you nothing so I gave up and forgot it until this week I received a call from a gentleman named Jeff little to be known after our conversation he was the owner of the operation to make a long story short he called me and asked what my problem was he was unaware and it got forgotten he apologized and he took care of the problem looked into it and all worked out at the end so I respect and thank Jeff the owner for getting to me and yes I appreciate his action thank you Jeff read more

I went here because I had a coupon. NOT worth it. I wanted a tire rotation, check squeeky brakes, fix a tail light (which I already had purchased & had with me). Turned out the recommended 2 new tires. When I told the person waiting for my car not to pay the $400, they fixed my tail light, charged $15 and sent him on his way. Fine, except they didn't say which tires and didn't bother to check the brake pads while they had the tires off. At the end of the day, they lost business for not listening to the customers wishes and hiking the prices. On a side note, another guy came in to get is car. A price of over $800 was given, the customer stated that when he called he was told $400...and got his service for that price. NOT IMPRESSED AND WILL TELL FOLKS TO STAY AWAY! read more

Honest & Competent!! That is the highest praise you can give to an auto service shop, unfortunately it is so rare. For most of my life I have done my own repair, relying on dealers for warranty work and those things beyond my skill set. No more, these guys diagnose correctly and then fix it. I usually know or have a good idea what is wrong before i bring a car in. What the Muffler shop tells me makes sense. The dealership service areas just throw whatever replacement part the book says at it and hope, knowing you will come back. That may work while your car is under warranty and it is their dime. Long story short..5000.00 later my check engine light back on along with tire light. Gas gauge not working properly although this was fine whenbi brought it. Fixed things with out asking and charged me for them. Was told I would get a discount that I didn't get. Which really didnt matter just wanted my vehicle fixes correctly. Like you would want someone to take car of your mom or daughter car. Work that was claim to be done wasn't. Very unhappy with the service. No communication had my car for several months gave plenty of time to get my car back in worst condition then when I left it. Next step is court. I wish I had really read reviews first like I normally do. I know someone who dealt with them for a minor job no problem. Trying to give them time to make the situation right but I cant even get a call back. I guess rhe person who i dealt with is still on lunch from 4/18/22. I will not refer this shop to anyone! But maybe depending on who you are you may not have a problem. Although looking at the reviews for varies people that probably doesn't matter. Charged my brother $400 to remove his AC compressor, but ended up only removing a single component that probably took 15 minutes to remove, and only band-aided the problem for another year. This is the second time my vehicle has been left to rot in their lot without even being looked at for over a week. The only reason I even brought it back to them Is because of the terrible condition they left it in last time and I expect them to rectify their mistakes. After a week, it's only "partially done." Don't ever bring your vehicle to this place unless you don't have a job so you have all sorts of time on your hands to sit at home and wait. The integrity of a good shop is just not there with these guys. ... a third party was informed of the repairs needed to my vehicle before I was. The only conversation that needed to take place would have been between me ( the vehicle owner) and the employees at the shop. If I allowed this to happen in my place of work I would be in huge trouble, its just unprofessional and bad business practice. I also never received a phone call to let me know my vehicle was ready for pick up, I had to call in at the end of the day. This time was totally different as to time. I dropped the car off on Thursday for a major repair and picked it up the following Tuesday. The muffler shop II is great for exhaust work but they sometimes struggle with other repairs. I had them do $1200 dollars worth of work including a new muffler for $195, an engine mount for $265, a transmission seal dipstick tube gasket leak for $100, rear shocks for $365. They had my car for 5 days but eventually completed the repairs. The transmission leak ended up coming from a missing seal on the dipstick tube which I ordered and replaced myself for $4 dollars this was the true source of the leak. The shocks they replaced on my Volvo were not the Nivomat so the car rode like crap and the rear end was 2 inches lower. The other work was well done. To their credit, they are putting in the correct shocks now for no cost but I had to get the correct shocks myself from the dealer and they are refunding the money I paid for the wrong shocks. It still took time out of a weekend but I do respect them for taking care of the issue. I will definitely use them again for muffler work which is their true specialty. read more

A 4-6 weeks ago I brought my car in to have muffler repaired due to it becoming loud. Dealer's quote was $368, The Muffler Shop $119. I went with the $119 and a week later my "check engine light" came on. This morning I stopped in and inquired about an inspection. I informed the person behind the counter my "check engine light" was on. An hour later was quoted $514.43 plus tax for car to pass inspection. I was told I needed two back tires (which I knew would have to buy prior) and a bunch of failed emission codes. I was also told I owed $120.84 for today ($92 for one hour labor which I was never told about prior, and $21 for a failed inspection plus tax). The attendant gave me an attitude when I said I don't have that much on my credit card I have with me and where did that number come from? He said "can you call somebody?" All the sudden my Amex number magically appeared in my head like a hologram and I gave it to the person behind the counter (It's Showtime Synergy!). Thanks Amex! Needless to say, the bill was paid and waited for my car to be pulled around. I was greeted with a big white piece of paper on my dash stating car failed the inspection, the old inspection sticker gone and check engine light still on. Something is rotten in Denmark because this whole experience seems shady and I feel I was scammed. A botched muffler job turned on my "check engine light" producing a bunch of failed emission codes which will cost money to fix in order to get a NYS inspection. Bananas!!!! When my 2001 Sentra popped a Check Engine light, my regular mechanic said that it was a catalytic converter, only available from the dealer at a price of nearly $800. With labor and contingencies for problems, $1300-$1500. Before giving up on the car, I called The Muffler Shop, as I have had good luck there in the past with serious exhaust issues that others deemed too expensive to fix. Sure enough, the person I spoke to searched for other sources for the part and gave me a price of $600 installed. I had the repair done last week, and they worked until nearly 7 pm to get the car finished, and the price was exactly what they had said it would be. This is the third time that I have saved big bucks on an exhaust repair by going to The Muffler Shop. I can't say enough good about them! read more

The transparency here is garbage. They never call you back and the level of communication is garbage. I had a serious car repair done here and it took almost three weeks. My car still had connected electronic issues after I had it repaired here and they didn't investigate the issue at all. They knew they had done shoddy work to my car but they were probably just trying to get it off the lot because they were sick of dealing with it. I'm so disappointed with this place and if they're having such substantial management and queue issues they need to expand the shop, employ more people, and implement PROPER customer service. read more

I went there about 3-4 weeks ago when we had that 60 degree sunny day to have a 2k Borla exhaust system installed on my CTSV Coupe and I couldnt be more pleased. I have taken my car here a couple of times and have always been happy. I have struggled to find a mechanic I can trust. I am a bit vigilant so I make sure we are communicating...
