White's was closed, so I looked for a local butcher. Found this little gem that apparently my husband used for his last Buck. Went in for a few steaks, left with a quarter cow for a steal! Great meat! Freezer is stocked! Glad I found them for beef! Thank you Matthew!

I meant to do a check-in while I was here and completely forgot. So here is my review! We've gotten meat here for as long as I can remember. The owner himself treats you like family and that's how you know it's GREAT service! The staff is never rotating so they remember you by name. I don't know about you but I really appreciate it when staff recognizes your repeat service towards a business. They're super helpful and get you in and out within a short time. The meat is fantastic! From steaks to sausages and anything you can think of. They do it all. We always have family grill nights and this is the only place we go to for meat. Pricing is more than reasonable especially since it's fresh. I've been to other butcher places and it doesn't compare. I will continue to bring my business to this place and will recommend my meat-lover yelp friends to check it out!

    Wonderful little store

And the price is WONDERFUL ! They are really working hard to make healthy meat accessible to everyone! We tell all our friends its worth the drive!

I purchased some of everything, including a pie, and everything we've tried so far has exceeded my hopes. The best part is the products are sourced fairly close. No meat from Australia here. The information about the different ranches and farms is in their website and on signs in the store. They are also happy to talk with you about them. The store is charming and welcoming. Be aware that parking is tricky. There's a bus stop directly in front of the store and there's only one spot in their parking lat and it's only for vehicles needing wheelchair accessibly. The only place to park in front is on the curb just before the store.

Ample sized, well lit, clean shop, bustling with activity. When we first entered we were the only patrons, but that changed within minutes. We perused the cases of smoked meats, sausages, quality steaks etc. and were impressed. We were assisted by a knowledgeable, personable young man who helped us with our selections. We purchased some ribeye steaks, bacon and a few different German sausages, all at a reasonable price. We will be back

Everything is hand cut, and superb. Many kinds of ribs that have been marinated and chicken. Pork galore! Love their baby backs. I could go on about every item, but you have to come and check it out yourselves. There's so much ! They have all kinds of homemade sausages and summary salads. Their Hawaiian Mac salad is really good. My favorite is the pea salad.! This time we bought a 7 1/2 pound brisket to try out our new smoker! We shall see about that. I wanted to post about how wonderful everyone in there is. They are helpful and kind. It's always packed before the holidays and there is patience to go around and always a smile. Kudos to the Mount Hood pie company. We bought a Keylime pie and oh my it is so delicious. Looking forward to trying a different flavor. Thank you, Gartner's for all of your years of service and delicious eats!

We recently purchased a smoker and were so excited to smoke some meat on the upcoming weekend. We decided on buying meat from a butcher to smoke. Looked up nearby places on the internet, and the only one open near us was Top Choice Meats. They received great reviews, so we decided to give them a shot. They're located in a strip mall with plenty of parking available. We were greeted as we walked in (always a good sign). The inside was very clean and organized. The young lady who helped us was super helpful and knowledgeable with all questions asked. We decided on a brisket, but the one in the case was around 8 lbs, which was way too big for just the two of us. She offered to cut it in half. Perfect! We got home, made a rub, and smoked it for about 4 hrs on 250°. Once the internal temperature reached 195°, we removed it to let it rest for about an hour. We sliced it and wow, oh wow, it was outstanding! The flavor of the meat was amazing. We were very happy with our first smoke. Since our first visit was great, we came back this weekend for steak and brats! We would definitely recommend this butcher. We look forward to trying more cuts of meat in the future.

This is THE spot. I…read morehad a little trouble finding this place, because there is literally no signage outside, but it's exactly where Google maps says it is. The inside of the store is divided into two main sections: the market, and the carniceria. An entire wall of the market is a fresh bakery section. They had all kinds of pan dulce, cream horns, and Mexican pastries. Near the front of the store were candies and cakes including several flavors of fresh tres leches cake. This store smells so good inside. Even the meat section smells good. This was a major relief since the two stores I'd stopped by before this both smelled like mold. As soon as I saw how long the line was on the carniceria side, without having any idea what they were actually selling over there, I decided to get in line. I figured that if this many people were willing to stand in line for it, then it must be worth standing in line for. The line moved surprisingly quick. Once I got to the front, I got shy about speaking Spanish. I asked for two tamales. "De cual?" "Umm.. what kind do you have?" "Que dijo?" She stared at me like she knew I speak Spanish. (How did she know?) I ordered one chicken tamale and one corn tamale. I wanted some of the barbecue chicken, but there was no menu, and I had no idea how to order it. Maybe I'll figure it out next time. I grabbed a guava drink from the cooler and a coconut macaron from the candy section. Both were super fresh. The tamales were so bomb. The elote ones tasted a lot like tomalito, but less sweet. The shredded chicken tamale was my favorite though. Very tender, juicy, and flavorful.

You either know or miss out on some delicious hot Mexican food, pan dulce, and pantry staples. A friend told me about the freshly made carnitas, and his description had my mouth watering. I went the very next day! Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised with how large this market is, including the aisles. There's plenty of room to walk up and down each to check out the various Mexican sodas, treats, chips, salsas, piñatas, pan dulce, fruit, and produce. I grabbed a few mangoes for 79 cents, then fresh limes and cilantro, a pack of street size corn tortillas, then quickly realized I needed a cart! With cart in tow, I headed back to the deli counter where they have lots of marinated meat, cotja cheese, shrimp, huge trays of chicharron, roasted quarter, half and full chickens, three different kinds of tamales, and carnitas. When ordering a pound of carnitas, which will make our taco dinner so much easier since they did the work, the young man behind the counter even asked if I wanted to include the fat. While many of the local farm workers favor those sections, I opted to go without it, and I was very appreciative that he accommodated. The other foods looked and smelled so delicious that I couldn't resist getting a quarter of the white meat chicken and two jalapeño & cheese tamales, one pork, and one chicken. As I left the deli area, the smell of fresh bread was everywhere, the trays placed adjacent to entice customers! I selected two pieces of various pan dulce. Admittedly, I had a piece of one as soon as I got into my car! The rest is for breakfast, perfect with morning coffee. Makevsurevto check out the bakery and the beautifully decorated cakes. Also the rack of seasoning packs and the bags of dried chile. In spite of what other reviewers stated, everyone working there was very friendly, greeting me with a hello and a smile, offering assistance, showing genuine kindness. Same with the other shoppers. I was using a cane due to an injury, and people moved their carts out of the way and even asked if I needed them to grab items off the shelves. I'm so glad a friend turned me onto Mercado Guadalajara. Our dinner was fabulous and I'm already looking forward to more carnitas, tamales and roasted chicken.
