This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dental clinic. On several…read moreoccasions, I drove my children to scheduled appointments, only to be told upon arrival that the clinic was too busy and could not see them. The appointments were not properly confirmed, causing us unnecessary inconvenience, wasted time, and travel. In addition, the behavior of the staff has been consistently rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Instead of treating patients with care and courtesy, they often appear unwilling to assist and do not communicate effectively with families. I am also very concerned about the quality of dental care provided. My children underwent dental procedures that appeared to be performed without proper anesthesia, causing them significant pain and distress. This is completely unacceptable, especially when treating children. Furthermore, the clinic appeared dirty and poorly maintained, raising concerns about cleanliness and patient safety. I strongly urge management to investigate these issues and take immediate corrective action to improve patient care, staff professionalism, scheduling procedures, and clinic cleanliness.

I have been a patient at The Dental Group for over 3 years and unfortunately I can no longer…read morerecommend them after my most recent experience. They do not do well at supporting patients with sensory issues or dental anxiety, or conditions like TMJ that make dental visits difficult. With new patients they are kinder, but with every visit I have made they have become less supportive and less accommodating. My last cleaning was extremely unpleasant and I was shamed into not taking breaks over the course of multiple procedures and fittings even though holding my jaw open causes my TMJ to flare. Then there's the high-pressure upselling. For several years, the dentists and hygienists at this practice have been trying to get me to buy a dental-grade night guard out of pocket, even though I had an over-the-counter one I had been happy with. I finally agreed because they told me it would help my gums and that I would face severe consequences if I did not "make the investment." I had to pay $750 (!!!) out of pocket. When the night guard arrived, it was so bulky and uncomfortable that I could not get a good night's sleep in it and I woke in the morning with severe jaw pain on both sides of my jaw. I went back to have it adjusted and suddenly I was being told that having a night guard means sleeping with your mouth open and accepting dry mouth, that jaw pain often gets worse at first, and that I would have to accept some bad sleep in order to become accustomed to the night guard. I cannot stress enough that this was NOT disclosed to me prior to when I made the purchase. Since the practice knew about my sensory and dental anxiety issues, I feel strongly that they should have talked to me about what the night guard would be like before pushing me to buy it. When I explained the above, the practice offered me only a partial refund, which would mean that I spent hundreds of dollars on nothing. I feel my trust was taken advantage of and I would encourage others to look for a different practice.

I have been coming here for years and all of the staff with whom I've come in contact, have been pleasant and helpful EXCEPT for BARBARA SHORTER BULLOCK...no relation. Not only is her tone demeaning, she had the gall to talk about my personal informational at the front desk, where other patients could hear. She's also thought it wise to argue with me. Barbara is a dark stain on this establishment and should be dealt with accordingly. Barbara is the ONLY reason for my rating being shy of five stars.

She also made the reason i want the tooth removed seem like a joke, like i didn't know what i was talking about. I don't get that, it's my mouth, you're a dentist. Pull the tooth out. "Root canal teeth are more likely to break during extractions" Yes, any tooth can break during extraction though, that was an excuse. She even made sure to include in quotations on my referral that i wanted the tooth removed for "Convenience" - you don't know my life. If i have to get my wisdom tooth removed to have anything done to this molar, as someone with Anxiety & PTSD that's a far harder thing for me to come to terms with. a complete lack of respect from the Dr. She could of left it at, "Sorry, i just don't want to pull this tooth" and sent me on my way. Instead she had to make me feel like a child, who doesn't know what i'm talking about. The dental ASSISTANT was a joy though. Very friendly & kind, easy to talk too - & was understanding of my reasoning even if she didn't agree. Overall would not recommend this place if you're looking for a primary dentist.

However, Penny - his front desk receptionist - is the rudest and most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with at a medical office. After being told I would have to wait 6 months to reschedule a routine cleaning, I said I wanted to speak with Dr. Alexander. She said I could speak with him at lunch. She then told me he was too busy to be able to speak with me and not to come there to speak to him (and sent a rolling eyes emoji). She refuses to answer my phone calls and will only send me text responses (and seems very comfortable talking to me - a patient far before she worked there - in such an unprofessional manner). She specifically said I'm 1 of thousands of patients implying I don't matter. So I guess now I have to find a dentist where I matter no matter how many patients there are.

I'd scared of dentists my whole life until I met Dr. Alexander. I must say, if you are looking for…read morea peaceful dentist visit, this is the place. I had cavities and I never felt scared or judged -- Dr. Alexander made it as pleasant an experience as drilling teeth can be. The staff including receptionists are also very sweet. When getting worked on there are [optional, of course] movie goggles and the movie selection is great! Nothing distracts you from the pain of drilling like watching a movie. Not only that, but you are physically blocked from watching a Novocaine needle being stabbed into your mouth. If you have a phobia of needles, these goggles are pretty neat. Dr. Alexander also practices with a conservatism that not many dentists use nowadays. For example, I was having TERRIBLE tooth pain and thought I may need a root canal (advil around the clock... I could sense my liver being poisoned). Although over half the signs pointed to a classic root canal case, the other half were ambiguous or certain signs were missing. Thus, after 3 visits, two different types of x-rays and various tooth tests, he decided not to do a root canal which I am thankful for because it turns out it was a sinus infection causing the pain. I'm very happy I avoided an unnecessary and painful procedure through a little detective work and caution. Dr. Alexander is also very good when it comes to explanations. He takes the time to explain what's going on in your mouth to you in a way you can understand. If you ask a question about your mouth, you will get an answer that makes sense and evidence to back it up. The equipment is very up-to-date so you get clear pictures of what's going on on the inside to support your questions. Overall, I am very happy with Dr. Alexander and would recommend him.

Apparently dentists don't like to accept medical insurance - only dental insurance. And when I pulled into Dr. Ruderman's office parking lot, I inwardly groaned. It's just not an attractive building, there's a dumpster in front of the building, and the concrete in the parking lot of cracked. The interior also looks like it hasn't been decorated in decades. BUT...! Dr. Ruderman was such a good doctor/dentist that I now understand the amazing reviews despite the dreary décor. It sounds silly writing this, but he actually read my medical chart, and asked me questions about it. We actually had rapport. Noticing my discomfort with the procedure, he joked around about my employer in the news and the terrible taste of the anesthesia. And when my medical results came in, Dr. Ruderman personally called me to inform me of the results (they were good) and explain what they meant. What a novel concept - I'm used to having to dial in myself and then listen to a prerecorded message. My only pang of sadness is that I live so far from Dr. Ruderman. If I lived closer, I would come to Dr. Ruderman for all my dental needs!
