This jewelry shop has some of the prettiest jewelry ever, as well as the cutest and funniest window display I've ever seen. I walked past a few weeks ago and was drawn to the window because of the "peep show" with all these little peeps and it was just the cutest and gave me a good laugh. We moved to Cheshire seven years ago and had been looking for a trusted jewelry store. We had dinner at Luna's in Middletown and noticed Malloves. They have nicely displayed jewelry and watches and a friendly staff so I thought that we'd found "our" jewelry store. I brought a few of my quartz watches in for battery changes and all went well, until a month or so ago, I brought my pristine (and favorite watch) Victorinox in for a battery change. Now, I've been to a number of jewelers over the years for battery changes and never had a problem and by that I mean never a scratch. Until last month. The woman that took my watch seemed nervous, like she wasn't sure what to do. Well, the tool that she used to unscrew the back of my watch slipped three times and scratched the back of my watch in four different places. I didn't notice the scratches until I got home. I called the store and got the owner on the phone. He was very nice and asked me to bring it back and he'd polish it. Well, the scratches were in unaccessible spots and try as he may, he couldn't remedy the situation. He apologized and sent me packing with a scratched watch. It should go without saying, that if you value your watch and don't want to take a chance of getting it scratched, you should think twice about taking it to Mallove's. read more

The staff at Malloves is the best. They're so patient and there's no pressure to buy. They want to make sure you love what you're getting. Pooja helped me and my mom with our Pandora bracelets. She has such a good eye for what looks good. She helped us pick out beads and design our bracelets for the best look possible. She also cleaned then for us. She was especially patient with me when I wanted to change the color scheme of my bracelet, even when it meant taking it apart and re-stringing it. There are a bunch of big jewellery stores closer to me, but I'll make the trip to Middletown for Malloves. There's something special about places that aren't franchises. Family owned makes a difference. read more

I walk into jewelers with full defenses up - like walking into a car dealer. They have what you want/need, and its gonna cost a boatload. I don't like walking into these places. Mallove's, however, blew me away. It was recommended by my wedding's caterer - who knows Jim Mallove. We went right to Jim and wow, what a good guy. No shenanigans, no BS. Answered questions point blank, and was more than happy to get you what you wanted. Without question I would go back. While they were doing work on a ring, he also fixed a watch of mine - better than a previous jeweler had. Again, no hassles, no BS. Just honest to goodness service. 6 stars if I could! read more

They always have a large stock and big options, and also of different brand charms that fit on the pandora bracelet as well. They also carry all sorts of jewelry and italian charms. i brought my vintage seeland watch to a different watch shop before coming in to Malloves. The other shop opened up the case and showed me the movement and how it was not broken, just dirty. Their price was a little too high for me that day so I took it to Malloves to get a quote from them. The first red flag was when the employee pulled out a mallet to open my tiny mechanical watch. He struggled with that for a few minutes before opening it up all the way, and when he did the balance assembly was broken. He claims that he didn't break it and quoted me a crazy price for fixing it. I did not leave my watch with them. I can't comment on the jewelry, as that's not really my thing. read more

This is a good, old-fashioned jewelry store. The kind of jewelry store that you keep going back to, regardless of the occasion - Pandora charms, anniversaries, first communion, etc. They are professional and courteous and the service is excellent. I had my watch battery replaced while I was purchasing a new Pandora charm - and the battery was on the house. My husband and I went in the other day to look at anniversary bands for our ten year anniversary. Jim treated us like we were spending $1 million, not $1,000. Been in Malloves a bunch times. Once was for getting gifts and a couple because my Alex and Ani bracelet was breaking. They had my bracelet purchase on record and fixed it with no hassle, unfortunately it broke again (I put a lot of stress on my jewelry) but they were able to replace it. (Since then it has held up great). Everyone that I talked to, especially Christine, were personable and accommodating. read more

I took my watch to have crystal repaired, 60 bucks, expensive but less than a new watch (August Steiner, dual movement). I got the call that the watch was repaired and that I could pick it up. When I got there, I was told that one of the movements was damaged and therefore one of the movements didn't work. The crystal was repaired and they said they put in two new batteries. I was very disappointed that they didn't tell me the movement was damaged when they left the message that my watch was "repaired"! At least I would have had the chance to ask how much to repair the movement so I had a fully functional watch!! Not very impressive customer service in my opinion. Unlikely that I will visit Malloves again or recommend to anyone that shop or get work done there. read more

We went in to Malloves to get our wedding rings. We had an idea in mind of what we wanted but NO IDEA how to get it. Carey, our new best friend, walked us through the process and every painstaking detail. We can not say enough good things about Carey, her professionalism, her infectious joy and her eye for the tiniest detail. We had some concerns along the way about the ring and the made from thin air design. We all collectively held our breath, but Carey worked with the rest of the staff at Malloves and a vendor and in the end delivered pieces of jewelry that represent our hearts and our love. We (my husband, my self and Carey) all cried when we opened the final product. Carey was as much invested as us and that was / is the kind of jeweler we want in our life.
