I picked Dr Valentino graduate school when I needed what turned out to be a serious amount of dental work (5 root canals, yikes!). After starting a treatment plan with one office in Cambridge it became clear that they were not very professional. I interviewed several dentists and picked Dr Valentino. I ended up selecting John because of his scientific approach, friendly demeanor, efficient meticulous work, reasonable prices and his ability to pragmatically schedule my work to maximize my dental plan benefits. I chose very, very well. Quite amazingly, Dr Valentino is a one man shop---he does all the work---running the office, IT, hygiene, fillings, root canals, customer entertainment (interesting stories) and crowns himself. Very, very impressive. During the course of two years Dr Valentino performed 5 root canal treatments and got what was a very depressing dental situation back under control without breaking the bank. Ten years later, not a single root canal has failed and my crowns are perfect. I owe my smile to Dr Valentino's excellent work. I couldn't be happier.

I didn't like this and was growing frustrated with having to re-explain my dental history each time to a new person. Very difficult to build rapport when the staff is constantly changing. While that frustrated me it's not what made me leave. What made me leave was the fact that I had a crown placed by them and it broke 2 or 3 times within 1-2 yrs. I learned the hard way that Dr. Sahani doesn't put a warranty on his work. This gets very expensive as insurance won't cover the same tooth again for 5 years. I left for another dentist who guarantees their crowns for 5 years, and they were also appalled at the materials that Dr. Sahani used on my crown. They said if a crown keeps breaking there is a stronger material that can be used and they couldn't believe another dentist would keep using a cheaper material on me when they knew it was breaking. I was honest with Dr. Sahanis team when they called me to schedule my next cleaning: I said, your office doesn't provide warranties and I can't afford to shell out $2,000 three times in one year. They just said Ok and let a patient of many years walk out the door. This practice used to be one that I recommended to everyone, but I can no longer recommend them and suggest everyone ask about warranties before getting any major dental work done.

They do pretty much soup to nuts in terms of dental work including routine cleanings, fillings, and I believe teeth whitenings as well so it can be a one stop shop for dental work. Travel here is also pretty painless as there are a few parking lots within easy walking distance of the office with quite reasonable rates. There's also metered street parking but if you prefer mass transit, the green line has the Kent St. stop literally across the street. Love the office and have never had any reason to complain to or about Dr. Sahani or anyone on the staff. They do fantastic work here.

I had a bad experience with a root canal with a previous dentist, so they make me nervous. I had a root canal with Dr. Lewis, and had the pain pills ready for when the novocaine wore off. Guess what? I didn't even need an aspirin. This was the most gentle, painless root canal possible. You don't feel rushed - he takes the time he needs to schedule a procedure. He takes pride in his work.

The whole staff is very friendly and made me feel comfortable. They did all the necessary x-rays and explained what they were doing every step of the way. The dental hygienist is not rough and doesn't mercilessly scrape at my gums/teeth. Dr. Lewis is also very thorough and he recommended the water pick because I have a very bad habit of not flossing. This helped to make my mouth healthier. No one likes going to the dentist but this is about as enjoyable an experience I could have!

I did need a crown, which he was also good in being able to do on the spot with instrument in his office instead of waiting for months. Plus, he took extra care to make sure my bite was okay, etc. I would recommend him and his practice. My mother and daughter also see him. The office staff is also always friendly and caring.
