I scheduled fillings specifically around insurance coverage, but when I arrived I was booked for a completely different procedure that my dentist had never explained to me. I then received appointment reminders for visits I never scheduled, and when I called they admitted it was a mistake. I was also told I owed a balance that I had already paid in full (my insurance reimburses me after the fact), and the office could not clearly explain why the charge appeared or why they told me I had already paid. I was then told that they forgot to submit my claim to my insurance. My hygienists were great, but I don't recommend this office if you have anxiety or don't have time to constantly correct scheduling/billing issues yourself.

I went to them for deep cleaning, a barbaric procedure I had done once thirty years ago. (And vowed never to repeat) After several promising, but ineffective consultations with each of them, we finally agreed on a full mouth procedure under IV sedation . Uncommon? Hard to coordinate? Added expense ? Impeccable! Just what I needed for a pain free procedure. And no postoperative pain . A perfect 10!

Front office was kind, my first hygienist was nice. My dentist and hygienist were changed on me without notice, and neither of them introduced themselves to me (I still don't know what the dentist looks like or what his name is). Further, the new hygienist used a tool during a routine cleaning that broke off a piece of my tooth. He asked if "that crack [has] always been there", to which I replied "no." Come to find that I require a crown. In my back and forth with the office over this, I find that the hygienist had written in his notes that I came in with the crack. His notes state that I said "I think one of my teeth broke", which is patently false. When confronted with this, the dentist refused to believe me or cover any part of the now required procedure. More than the confusion over the cause of the crack in my tooth, it really worried me that the dental notes written at this place don't align with reality: that's scary, as they aren't things I review at every routine cleaning. Icing on the cake: I asked for my dental records to move on to a new dentist, and they sent me the dental notes for a different patient, casually violating HIPAA. Go at your own risk.

Dr. Kwon carved out time to see her even though she was not his patient. With great skill and compassion, Dr. Kwon calmed my wife down, took the necessary steps to steps to ensure her healing was without serious complications that required treatment, and proceeded to check in on her through texts and calls over the next several days and weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Kwon for his skill, attention to detail, and most of all for the compassion he has for his patients. Brookline Dental Center is lucky to have him as part of their staff. BTW-My wife is a nurse and I am a physician. We appreciate the importance of trust between a caregiver and a patient, that the caregiver will do their best to help a patient get well. The front desk clerk had trouble responding and did not seem to understand what was clearly explained, leading to frustration for the patient. They do not know how to schedule patients. I was asked to come an hour earlier only to be seen after my original appointment time. While I was being attended to, another patient demanded to see the Dr. performing my root canal, in the middle of the root canal. Staff did not know how to calm this patient down so they kept telling the doctor that the patient wanted to see him. It was as if they thought the doctor was going to stop my procedure. I could tell the doctor hadn't read my chart by the questions that were asked. He confirmed it when he realized I was the case another doctor had discussed with him, while drilling my teeth... The dentist and dental assistant clearly did not know each other judging the office gossip being discussed. The root canal went as well as a root canal could go. It took about 3 hours. The filling fell out about 2 weeks later. I need another root canal (different tooth) and would not dare return to this office. I'm going to another endodontist anf my primary dentist is doing my crowns. And I better not have a billing "error" as I have read in reviews and seen in person.
