If Yelp had star options for both the food and the service, I definitely would have given them 4 or 5 stars. I almost always go completely overboard when I try a place the first time. I picked up almost $80 worth of takeout so that I could try a little bit of everything. I really, really wanted to love the food here but I didn't. Unfortunately I didn't really find anything that I ordered that flavorful. The food wasn't bad by any means, it just didn't have the delicious flavors that I normally associate with great Puerto Rican food. I did research some reviews and remembered reading that some people didn't like how the tipping was handled. I forgot to keep this in mind when I paid, I included a tip. When I got home, I reviewed the check because it seemed a little high and realized the tip portion isn't preprinted on the receipt like most restaurants and it was built into the total price. So, I basically left over a 40 percent tip, I should have analyzed the receipt better before paying (this is something to keep in mind).
