Really cute ambiance for a girls night. I like that the plates were shareable. Was not super impressed with the food but the ambiance itself made up for a lot of the experience. It was very calm with lots of ambient lighting and unique cushions and furniture. The restaurant itself was busy but the service was good and food came out quickly.

What a breathtaking establishment. I was completely blown away. It's like you stepped into a romantic town in a movie for a bite to eat. The menu did not disappoint. While I didn't know what to order, my server for the night was a dream to have. She helped me to pick out items, was knowledgeable and patient. My drink, the cobbler, was so refreshing and light. It was a perfectly mixed drink. I then had the patatas which was a burst of flavor in my mouth. The aioli sauce on top was so tasty. The gilda was okay. It has a very rich and salty flavor. For dessert I had the torta vasca. I almost didn't get it because of the onion chutney. But let me tell that the blend of flavors worked so well. Sweet and savory. Overall, this is a great spot to stop by if you are in the area. It's romantic. It's whimsical even. It's the place to be!

We had a reservation but they told us the only open table was a communal table where we may need to share with other guests. We ordered the scallops, a salad and the paella. The scallops were extremely salty but the paella was pretty good.

One of my favorite spots to hitup in Wicker Park...no matter the season. I've sat on the very nice patio in summer and inside during cold winters. I also love that its downstairs from one of my favorite cocktail lounges, Bordel. Great Spanish tapas going on here and I've never had a bad meal at Mama Delia. Some highlights are: Arroz Negro (Squid ink paella) Get it! Datiles De La Mancha (Goat Cheese Smoked Dates w/fig & bacon) Jamon Ibericos Cinco Jotas Crispy Sunchokes Presa Drinks are awesome as well. Grab an old fashioned or a nice sangria....decent wine selection as well. Always great service here. Setting is nice and fantastic for dates or group outings.

Lunch at this neighborhood Spanish restaurant, the Gazpacho was really amazing. Inside beautiful decor, you feel like you could be in Spain.

Came here for restaurant week on a Saturday night at 9pm. It's street parking so better to take an Uber or park in a garage. The restaurant was interesting. We checked in at the front then was brought up through a flight of stairs. The vibe and decorations gave off a very homey feel. We started off with some drinks and the drinks were all very tasty. We came for the pre fixed dinner menu so we got to pick 2 starters, 1 entre and 1 dessert. We couldn't believe that they ran out of the croquettes! It was sad that we couldn't order it, since everyone raves about it. We got the peppers, sardines and the jamon platter to start off. Then we got the pork cheek and the shrimp dish as the entree. The pork cheek dish was super good! We also ordered a paella (squid ink). That was delicious! We then got the 2 desserts. I gotta say, there is something in the hazelnut ice cream dessert that tasted weird. It was like a bitter taste. Overall, this was a great place for a last minute restaurant week. Will have to come back again to try to the croquettes!

I'm obsessed!! The sweetest staff/best vibes. This place is huge! Service was very quick, bringing everything out in increments. I had the daiquiri to drink which was phenomenal, rum and banana is the perfect pair! We had a group of 4, and got a lot to share! Some of my favorite were the scallops and the croquettes. These scallops were amazing, some of the best I have had, melt in your mouth. And the croquettes were so full of flavor. I love this place! They have a little bit of everything! Cant wait to come back!

My favorite part of this place was the atmosphere. I really enjoyed the mosaic tile, cushy seating, and warm ambiance. The stuffed dates were my favorite dish. They really didn't taste very sweet, but the meat and cheese inside them were quite tasty. The croquetas were very soft, but tasty. Not greasy-tasting. The scallops were cooked to a very nice texture and tasted quite good. The green sauce that cane with them was very smoky, and I would probably eat less of it on the scallop next time.

First time trying this place. I would see so many people raving about the food. Personally for my experience it was not anything special. They plated everything beautifully however the taste was just not up to par. The chicken dish we tried was slightly dry. The drink was strong and had a good flavor to it. The overall ambiance was really nice, loved the way they decorated. Not sure, maybe it was an off day but not overly impressed and don't see the hype unfortunately.

I went for a quick drink and a bite with some friends over the conversation. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside, and the patio at Mama Delia was perfect. Our wait staff was terrific. They always came to check in even though we were outside and were knowledgeable of the menu. I got the whole chicken with onions, potatoes and carrots. It was delicious. My drink was also very delicious; I can't wait to return and try more things on the menu. This was a solid for out of five.

TLDR: The atmosphere is cute, but service was slow and the food was not worth the money. Expect your steak to be undercooked. Honestly, we only wanted to try Mama Delia because the pink storefront and patio setup looked so cute. We arrived with no reservation at around 7:20pm, and plenty of tables were open both inside and outside. Even though the place wasn't busy, it took a while before our server got to us. First, we ordered a cocktail and needed more time to get the food sorted out - not that much time, really. We were ready within 5 minutes after more time with the menu. We certainly didn't expect to be ignored for the next TEN minutes when, again, it wasn't busy. It would have been nice to be made aware upon sitting down that certain items on the menu were out for the day - specifically 2 of their paellas and the french fries. No french fries! Never have I ever been to a restaurant that ran out of french fries. The reasoning for this was because, apparently, their summer menu has limited stock (?) ALAS, we had an entire 15 minutes with the menu just to be told what we decided was no longer an option. (Cocktail) Bordel's World Famous Spanish Coffee: This took 25 minutes to get to our table. Their excuse was that a new pot of coffee had to be brewed, but really? Twenty-five minutes! Escalivada Flatbread: This came out looking more like a pizza than expected. It was quite good but could use more cheese in my opinion. It does have onion if you're averse to those. Shishito Peppers: These tasted quite salty in a good way because I like salty things. If you don't like salty things, be aware of that! I would not pay $12 again for them though. Eating these reminded me somewhat of an edamame experience--except edamame has more substance. Chuleton: Note that this takes 40 minutes to prepare - we were warned of this, thankfully. We asked for medium and got something more medium rare bordering on rare in some cuts. The 32oz was enough to feed 2 people, and it could even feed 3. (4 might be pushing it) I was really disappointed with how our dining experience went. Mama Delia gets points for presentation and decor, but the service was seriously lacking in addition to the wait times for the appetizer and peppers. Our starters came out roughly at the same time, but it was still about a 15-20 minute wait. All in all, we spent 1.5 hours here, and actually eating the food was 1/3 of that. I contemplated heading out early when the coffee cocktail took so long, but I hoped the rest of the meal would be different. I was wrong.

We decided to go because some review recommendations. I was hoping the Yelp review doesn't do its justice and opted to try it ourselves. What can I say the food is underwhelming. This paella came out looking so great because it's light and not your traditional with seafood or meat mixed it. But it's so salty to a point I worry about my blood pressure. The steak is break but the saltiness definitely killed it. We also don't like the fact that we have to share table with others. Overall not a great dining experience unless you go as a group and have the entire table to yourself. We had to share with the table with a group of other 4 people.

The menu features a variety of Spanish tapas, pintxos, small plates, and Paella. You are meant to order plates to share with table. Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba really prides themselves in serving authentic Spanish food and providing guests with a unique experience. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a fun vibe about it. There are plenty of seating options and a gorgeous bar as well. Service was wonderful! Our server did an excellent job checking in on us, refilling waters, and just making sure we were satisfied with everything. We did get a reservation via OpenTable, this is always necessary, but I would recommend doing this, especially on the weekends. We ordered a couple plates to start and the ended up ordering more throughout our meal. I really love that you can do this, it paces the food and allows you to enjoy the experience more. We put in orders for 2 of the goat cheese baked in tomato sauce, a patatas bravas, Spanish olives, and Spanish meatballs (Al Jerez). The food came out in a timely manner and was served made to order. We dove right in! The goat cheese was luscious and perfect on that cold afternoon. It's baked in their old world Spanish oven and served with house garlic bread. This dish was super creamy, with a nice tang from the tomatoes, and just phenomenal. The patatas bravas were just divine! The spicy potato's were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and yet soft on the inside. They paired perfectly with sun-dried tomato aioli they were served with as well. The Spanish Meatball were decent as well. They had great texture and I really enjoyed the sherry tomato sauce they were served in. For our next round, we had to order more patatas bravas because they were just that good! We also got some calamari and extra bread for the remaining baked goat cheese. The fried calamari comes with tomato crudo and a jalapeño aioli. It was nice and crispy, nothing too special but still hit the spot nonetheless. Overall, I was so happy my friends and I came here! The food was amazing all around, no complaints at all. The service was great as well. They are very accommodating and do a great job taking care of guests. Loved the interior of the restaurant, it was super cozy! I will definitely have to return next time I'm in the area to try more tapas. Highly recommend!

Parking is sort of a pain, you have to find street parking, might have to pay, or you can use their $20 vallet parking. V made me drive, and I misjudged how far we'd have to walk. Not a good start. We arrived at 8:20pm on a Sunday, while they close at 9pm, they serve until 9pm, and the place doesn't clear out until 10pm, so we were good. We were greeted and seated quickly in a fairly crowded dining room. My aging eyes found the menu difficult to read with small print on yellowish paper, so I used the light on my phone. It's not pretty, but neither is ordering food when you can't see what it is LOL. Our waiter greeted us promptly, and took our drink order, and offered up a specials menu. As I'm driving, I just got iced tea, V ordered a pitcher of passion fruit Sangria. He said the Sangria wasn't great, I tried some, and I thought is was drinkable. It definitely has a kick as V got a bit giddy as the night progressed. V ordered the Seafood Paella (takes 45 minutes), so as a starter, we ordered the Fried Calamari, which was sadly overcooked. It was half crumbs, though the sauce was tasty. With time to kill, we followed that with Lamb Brouccetta (no seasoning, just lamb), on a bed of French Fries (star of the night), grilled potatoes (yummy dipping sauce), and grilled peppers, which were quite tasty and unique. The Seafood Paella arrived, and it was massive. Food for two and then some. We didn't need all the appetizers except for killing time, so we ended up with a lot of Paella to go. I don't like Paella; it always tastes fishy, although this Paella was at least edible, unlike what I had in Barcelona. The waiter was attentive and had a spark of personality. Vigilio thought the bar area where we were seated was loud, but I didn't have any issues talking.

The stuffed peppers were light and delicious, and honestly paired so well with the bread. The beet slaw was a pleasant surprise, great texture play with nutty seeds and creamy goat cheese throughout. The vodka pasta was a touch salty for my taste, but still solid and satisfying overall. The New Zealand white was a great pick and complemented everything nicely.
