There was a fly in our tables' parmesan as well as a squeegee on the salad bar. This location needs lots of improvements such as repair and employment.

I wouldn't mind spending a premium, especially on Christmas, but when I don't get got food and I'm not even sure how safe it is to eat and the experience isn't even on par with average places it doesn't feel worth it. It does feel like they're trying, but this is probably the worst Chinese place I've ever eaten at.

I can't understand why all Chinese buffet type restaurants don't do the simple things that this place does well. I genuinely don't know what happened in that kitchen, but Mama Hamil's food was fucking disgusting. The fried chicken was dry as hell, with barely any moisture or flavor worth talking about. The fish was somehow even worse because it was so over-seasoned that I could barely taste anything besides salt and seasoning. For a place that's supposed to serve comfort food, this was anything but comforting. And the desserts were NOT saving the meal. The cinnamon rolls were dry and rubbery, like they had been sitting out way longer than they should have. The ice cream didn't taste right either--it had a strange flavor that made me question whether it was even fresh. Then there was the cake, which literally smelled like fucking fish. I don't know how a cake manages to smell like seafood, but somehow they pulled it off. Then I went down to the line expecting the so-called "freshly cooked" collard greens to at least be decent. Nope. They came out looking like fucking slop. The presentation alone made me lose my appetite, and the quality definitely didn't make up for it. At this point, I was wondering if anything in that kitchen was actually being made with care. But don't get me started on the customer service. The waiter was extremely rude and acted like we were bothering him by being there. He was throwing things at us, including towels, straws, and other stuff, instead of simply handing them to us. He was moving so fast and carelessly that he even splashed me with water. That's not just bad service--that's straight-up disrespectful. Overall, my experience at Mama Hamil's was terrible from the food to the service. Dry chicken, over-seasoned fish, rubbery cinnamon rolls, questionable ice cream, cake that smelled like fish, sloppy collard greens, and rude customer service is an insane combination. I came expecting a good meal and left wondering how this place has the audacity to serve some of this stuff to customers. Based on my experience, I definitely would not recommend it. read more

So, I hit up Mama Hamil's in Madison, Ma and man, it was a real Southern feast. I grubbed on some comfort food. The fried chicken? Crispy goodness that had me feeling all kinds of satisfied. And let's talk about those mashed potatoes - creamy and the many vegetable options are what I really needed. Turnip greens, Lima beans, black eyed peas, okra, a great salad bar and more!!! But the star of the show? The catfish. I'm not No fancy schmancy stuff here - it's all about that authentic Southern vibe. The place is large but had a cozy flair, like your grandma's kitchen, and the service is friendly as heck. So, if you're into down-home comfort food that hits the spot, Mama Hamil's is where it's at. Full Disclosure, Professor caught a damn Snorlax right out front of Mama Hamils. When you pull in and drive through the gravel parking lot, you might think - Is there really a pokestop over here? Yup and the pokes are better than you'd expect! As I said earlier, I caught a Snorlax and a starter during my visit. There is a gym in the cemetary next door, but you won't catch the professor anywhere near it. I aint going to get a bunch of damn ghost just for a pokemon gym on a cellphone game. food is great. the only place i know you can get livers that isn't a gas station. me and my crew ate 3 plates then went back for banana pudding. read more

Their buffet has so many different varieties of food to choose from. The price is awesome. The food is beyond delicious. I treated my mom to lunch there and she loved it. The buffet is $12 per person and that includes your drink with free refills. They have excellent service and great hospitality. They have good southern soul food to tender chicken and ribs cooked on the grill on the buffet line too. There's so many delicious vegetables, meats, salads and desserts to choose from. First place I went to eat in Jackson and I was in heaven. It's always packed here and for good reason. The food is so great, and there are so many options. All you can eat of the most delicious food. Food is pretty good, but I don't eat there anymore. I don't feel safe. The restaurant continues to display a sign prohibiting legal gun permit holders from entering the building. I will not dine there again until they take the sign down. read more
