We were riding around in Brandon and Pelahatchie and passed by Boo's and I had to stop. We had brisket and pulled chicken with sides of green beans and beans and potato salad. Surprisingly good 16 oz ribeye. They have steaks on Thursday Friday and Saturday nights. There was a lot of fat and some gristle but overall the meat and the flavor was good And well prepared right on the barbecue grill. I had essentially given up on eating ribeyes at restaurants in the Jackson area. I can only assure good quality by buying my own and cooking them on the barbecue grill. I have been greatly disappointed at most local restaurants' effort at cooking a ribeye. But I will go back to this place when I want someone else to do the cooking for me. If you order it medium rare like I do, be prepared for almost a cool red inside With a nicely charred outside. Most ladies will prefer to go at least one level up on the cooking time. read more

Your establishment is doing a disservice to your community. The minute our governor lifts the mandatory requirement to wear a mask, your establishment loses them. I was in yesterday to pick up a to go order and not a single employee was wearing a mask. Not the cooks, not the wait staff, not the cashiers. A mask protects your customers from your employees. You are not doing that and you should. You serve the public. I watched one of your waitresses hold 4 cups with her fingers inside the cup waiting to pour drinks and cough all over them. The Restaurant was a big disappointment. I got a pulled pork sandwich, and my wife got a shrimp po-boy. The place is dirty. The floor and lower walls are dirty. There is no food rating placard posted on the wall. The service is very slow. The BBQ had no smoky flavor, and the Texas toast was sopping with grease. My wife said her shrimp had no taste. One member of the staff had long (3 feet) hair braids swinging out of control. I hope I don't get sick. read more

Little country kitchen / BBQ hole in the wall with proper country character and a loyal following. It was packed at lunch time - clearly a popular joint. I went with a pulled BBQ chicken sammich with onion rings and baked beans on the side. The chicken wasn't the best I'd had, but it was good, and BBQ sauce on the tables made me able to BBQ-sauce it to my liking. The onion rings were killer. Delicious. Until our last visit this was a solid 5 star. My wife is VERY picky about her steaks and was thrilled to find a place that knows how to cook a medium rare steak. Unfortunately they are opening a new location so most of the experience staff and cooks were gone and it showed. The steak looked like the end cut with half the thickness missing at one end. It looked ok until you turned it over and then it was horrible. Cooked well done too boot. Sent back and typically you would expect the replacement to be good but not so. The second looked worse than the first, solid start in the center like a cheap steak. The guy next to us said he had been a customer for years but also noted the steaks were horrible recently. Had the two meat combo with brisket and ribs (wet). With Mac and cheese and baked beans. OMGosh! It was sooooo delicious. The Mac and cheese was hands down the best I've ever had and the ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone. The only draw back is the ribs were just a little spicy, but then again, I am very sensitive to spices. Consistent in good food and good service. Everybody is short staffed these days so I'm not going to complain about that. They handle being short staffed very well for such a busy place. The tea is exceptionally good and although not on the menu, they have other vegetable offerings as well as a variety of desserts. If you can catch it on a steak night you won't be disappointed!! My family chooses this place for meet-ups and celebrations. Driveway could be wider...but we aren't reviewing driveways here.
