Shout out to Clarksburg/ West Sacramento area…read more.. After buying some live fresh crab at Ferrari Fishery stand and stopping by Dave's farm stand in West Sacramento, I continued on for a casual drive to the Delta town of Clarksburg. We kept driving south on the same road...S River Road. Right on S River Road in Clarksburg is Dinky Diner. It is a tiny road side stand serving up burgers, dogs (hot dog,Polish, and corn dog), sandwiches (BLT, tuna's salad, tuna melt, grilled cheese), fries, onion rings, sundaes, root beer float, and ice cream bars. Classic Americana favorites made from quality ingredients. Yummy. The vibe is welcoming, the clientele is diverse. They accept cash or card payments. They have covered picnic table dining area with a view of the Sacramento River. Absolutely calm and gorgeous. I have stopped by here many times over the many years. The burgers, fries, and hot dog are my go to. The burgers taste like fresh pounded patties, the fries come out hot n crisp, and the hot dogs are of quality. I dig their food, and have enjoyed my meals here. Prices are not outrageous. Hot dogs $6, $11 combo ( canned soda and chips). Desserts $4-$6. Tip: They have a small boat that they converted with a table and seats, the kiddos would luv sitting in that. Or even grownups. But it's a bit snug for adults. Another thing to note is that they don't have a restroom. I believe they have a porty John which I can't tell you the state of that because I never used it.

South River Grind Coffee…read more Owner: Austin Hill The South River Grind is a charming Mobil coffee trailer nestled in the southern end of a gravel parking lot along the Sacramento River about 2 miles south of the Freeport bridge. This sweet coffee spot has the most excellent SF lattes. My favorite grind is simply a vanilla latte in a large cup. At the south river grind the coffee is delicious and the view of the river is relaxing and serene. There are a couple of picnic tables and extra seating along the planters. This is the best place to grab a cup if joe, watch the Sacramento river, and breathe.

It was delicious and my wife liked it so much I got one for her as well. The boys both got hot chocolate and they gave me the thumbs up when I asked about their drinks. We also shared the Apple strudel which tasted great. The owners are super nice and love sharing their story of the business. Their location is next to the dinky diner with outside seating and a beautiful view of the river. I also tried their Americano and that tasted great as well. It's really nice to finally have a coffee shop in our little small town. Please stop by and help support our new local small business in Clarksburg and enjoying a great cup of coffee.

Hey what do you know, there a taco truck sitting outside, so I walked over to it. The guy working inside ask how I was doing and if I had any questions. I had none since the menu was pretty self explanatory. You could order taco's, burritos and nachos. With chicken, beef, pork, asparagus or shrimp. I ordered one chicken street taco and one short rib taco. Both were very good. The chicken street taco was full of flavor, the chicken was marinated perfect. The flavor was just amazing. As for the short rib taco, it was good but the salsa over powered the short rib. It was a tad bit spicy, but the salsa was pretty good. I only wish there was less of spicy salsa. The tacos are topped with onions, cilantro and cheese which made the tacos perfect. 'Next time I am there Ill for sure order the chicken street tacos again.

We also were buying food for volunteers. Damian was very communicative via email - always responding same day. There was no minimum (unlike many other trucks) but we told him how many we wanted to buy for our volunteers and that we wanted to hand out "vouchers" to others. Damian was very flexible to accommodate. He showed up on time, had the prepared food ready when we asked for it and food was very tasty. I'd categorize prices as "$$" (not "$$$$" as is stated for this company). Prices are on-par with good food truck ($10-$12). Definitely would hit up North Boarder Tacos again if we decide to do this again.

The calamansi drink comes in a giant Capri Sun- looking container (complete with straw to poke it) and was sweet and refreshing. The plates were a huge portion...really 2 meals or shareable. Comes with garlic rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, onions, atchara (pickled papaya), garlic peanut mix, sweet soy, calamansi aioli, chiptole aioli, jalapenos, and bahay chili oil. I forgot to customize it for my husband, who's a no creamy sauce and no spicy anything. But...he ended up eating every bit of the bowl because it was so good! I l really liked mine too with the pork, but I wish the pork was crispier. The lumpia was crispy and good and for $5 you get 2 long lumpias served with the sweet chili sauce. Their calamansinade is one of my favorite drinks and often sells out quickly. I highly recommend the longanisa dumplings, bao tacos, and their signature bánh mì sandwich with bistek or tocino. The bread is made in-house, and you can taste the freshness. Orders can be placed through a self-ordering kiosk. You can expect a bit of a wait during busy times especially larger events, but it's well worth it. If they're in your area, be sure to check these ladies out, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing... no, better than amazing!!…read more Whatever is above amazing -- that's what this is. I'm telling you now, I will not be getting hibachi anywhere else for a long time. My family has had them cater multiple gatherings, and every single time it's been the highlight of the event. And yes, the hibachi show is fun. Yes, the professionalism is solid. But let's be real -- it's the food that separates them. I know people say hibachi is hibachi, but trust me... it's not. I love hibachi, and this is on another level. It took me right back to the first time I fell in love with it -- the flavor, the texture, the way everything is cooked and seasoned. It just hits different. And here's my advice -- don't wait until you have a big event to experience it. Track down their truck and go get a plate for yourself. Just make sure you get there early because there will be a line, and they will sell out. Also, check their Instagram before you go. If they're booked for a catering event, they won't be out, and you'll be stuck settling for something that's just... not this. Go try it. Then come back and tell me I was wrong. I don't think you will.
