09.15.22 Popup vendor at the California Museum in Sacramento

Satisfy that sweet tooth! Consider yourself lucky if you catch Frozen Paradise in a pop up event. I tried both their specialty shave ice and frozen drinks. I had the Strawberry Banana at the Hungry Pecker Brewery pop up in Elk Grove and just recently tried the Lemonade Slushy at the California Museum in Sacramento for the last pop up of the Summer Soirée series focusing on CA Pop Culture (sponsored by Yelp). The Lemonade was LIT... literally! So refreshing and delicious. Fun drink seeing that glow inside my drink and it continued to glow until the next day even when my cup was empty! The Blood Orange flavor was da bomb but can't wait to also try other flavors. In Hawaii, they call it "Shave Ice." If you say, Shaved Ice everyone will just know that you don't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The shave ice was refreshing, yummy, fluffy and island-style with a little twist. Onolicious! They not only serve lemonade and shave ice but Aloha and good vibes! You can follow their pop up schedule on Instagram or Facebook. Mahalo! Instagram: @frozenparadise.sac Review #2681

    The "Mexipino" ube & horchata!

Oh my goodness! Once I saw that Frozen Paradise had an Ube & horchata shaved ice, I HAD to get it! They happened to be at a pop up event at the California Museum. The owners were friendly and even let us have samples. On their menu, the ube and horchata is called the "Mexipino". It was only $10 and it was a generous portion for two people. Presentation was perfect. It was so good, I'm still thinking about it! It wasn't crazy sweet and artificial like other shaved ice places. Can't wait to try more flavors!

This place is GREAT! They pulled up to Claimstake Brewing tonight and blew us away with not only delectable shaved ice, but also had some hot foods to boot! The best part is that they don't just have lumpia, they cut them up into bite sized pieces and toss them in either garlic Parmesan or Buffalo sauce! What the what?! Such a great idea! Breaded wings were top notch. I wanted to try everything! Plus their sweet chili sauce has GOLD in it! I like gooooooold!

Hot Tortillas, Juicy Asada, and Gas Station Gold!…read more Highly, highly recommend! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned-reminds me of what tacos should be like, before all the fast pop-up taco spots in Sacramento with no flavor or love. Always get the asada tacos here-they're juicy, packed with the right amount of seasoning, and full of that smoky, grilled flavor that hits just right. Did I mention the tortillas are actually cooked and warm, instead of the cold taco shells people serve at restaurants these days? The little details matter. Also, ask for extra grilled onions on the side-they're sweet, savory, buttery, and to die for. They pair perfectly with the tacos. This taco truck hits close to home, the prices are super reasonable, and they even take Zelle if you don't have cash. It's parked on the side of the Shell gas station and always there-grab an order, pump your gas, and eat before heading out. You can even order in advance. Honestly, I'd bring a friend here for something quick or even a casual first date and eat in the car-it's a whole old-school vibe. Service is amazing, and everyone's extremely nice.

Probably one of the best quality and price in my opinion for authentic burritos. They are huge and comes with grilled jalepenos, onions, and sauce on the side for $12. We always ask for light rice and it never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a decent tripas burrito.

The food was not only delicious, but there was an abundance--hot, fresh, and made with so much care. In the middle of long days on the line, that kind of support means everything. We are so grateful for businesses like yours that stand with teachers and uplift the community. Highly recommend Yolanda's Tamales--not just for the amazing food, but for the heart behind it.

The woman who took took my order was very friendly and helpful.I ended up ordering a dozen tamales($42)-half chicken half pork with a small side of beans rice and salsa.I also decided to order something for myself since I was going to be there-so I added the iconic Yo-Burrito($14)-but more on that later. I made my way out there and the woman working there had my order ready right on time, which is always appreciated-the place is a smaller spot with a few tables but it's much more setup as a to-go spot in my opinion-which is perfect. The tamales that we got for the party were pretty much perfect-nice size-flavorful sauce, tender meat, tasty masa-everybody loved em,as I expected-one can never go wrong if your in the mood for some tamales in the Sacramento area-they are the best-but I want to talk about that burrito. I've had a lot of burritos in my day-in fact I've spent a little time as a burrito reviewer on another app,so I don't say this too lightly-but the Yo-burrito is probably the most unique burrito you can get in Sacramento and most likely a top 3 overall burrito in Sacramento. The fillings are pretty generic, rice, beans, cheese, pic de gallo but where they turn it up a level is when they add 2 of their signature tamales into the burrito as the protein and man does that change everything. The combo of those tamales in the middle of all the flavors from the burrito fillings is just dynamite-I highly recommend it-if you consider yourself a burrito connoisseur-your resume will be incomplete if you haven't had the pleasure of trying this great item. In closing-when you find yourself craving some homemade style tamales,I would definitely give these guys a call-they are pretty great-a very solid options for parties or holiday gatherings or if u just want a tamale for lunch that day. PS.....One quick tip-this place offers a lower price for cash payment-so if you're looking to keep costs down, that's an option...Also this place has a history in winning the taco throwdowns in Sacramento,so I'm assuming their tacos are pretty great here as well, though I've never tried them myself.
