We ordered burgers, corn dogs, and a BLT. We also had fries. The food was really good and condiments were fresh. Fries were excellent, lightly seasoned and slightly crunchy. Prices were reasonable, $8 for a regular burger and $11 for burger, fries, and soda. Service was fast, especially considering it was one person running the place. All seating is out doors under shade, so no fancy decor, but good food at great prices. I highly recommend!

After buying some live fresh crab at Ferrari Fishery stand and stopping by Dave's farm stand in West Sacramento, I continued on for a casual drive to the Delta town of Clarksburg. We kept driving south on the same road...S River Road. Right on S River Road in Clarksburg is Dinky Diner. It is a tiny road side stand serving up burgers, dogs (hot dog,Polish, and corn dog), sandwiches (BLT, tuna's salad, tuna melt, grilled cheese), fries, onion rings, sundaes, root beer float, and ice cream bars. Classic Americana favorites made from quality ingredients. Yummy. The vibe is welcoming, the clientele is diverse. They accept cash or card payments. They have covered picnic table dining area with a view of the Sacramento River. Absolutely calm and gorgeous. I have stopped by here many times over the many years. The burgers, fries, and hot dog are my go to. The burgers taste like fresh pounded patties, the fries come out hot n crisp, and the hot dogs are of quality. I dig their food, and have enjoyed my meals here. Prices are not outrageous. Hot dogs $6, $11 combo ( canned soda and chips). Desserts $4-$6. Tip: They have a small boat that they converted with a table and seats, the kiddos would luv sitting in that. Or even grownups. But it's a bit snug for adults. Another thing to note is that they don't have a restroom. I believe they have a porty John which I can't tell you the state of that because I never used it.

Such a fun friendly vibe in the bar area when we walked in and were told to pick any open table. Quickly reviewed the drink menu and we're thrilled to find 7 mocktails! I got the prickly pear mint smash and it was wonderful! We asked if splitting an appetizer and one sandwich would be enough for two people and our server Carmen confirmed it would be. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the garlic steak sandwich with onion rings. Y'all, the food was AMAZING! the Brussels sprouts were so savory and delicious! I've never had blue cheese in the mix and wow was it scrumptious!! Lots of bacon, balsamic glaze, and finished with truffle oil! A huge serving as well. Next came the steak sandwich. Hands down the best steak sandwich I've ever had. It's made with Wagyu beef, and heaps of sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, cheese and arugula. So garlicky, juicy and tender meat. We could not finish it even though we split it. Just unbelievably delicious! We were going to ask for the check but then our server Carmen said: "Fresh churros and ice cream?" Who says no to that? Not us. The churros arrive. 10 or so mini churros, covered in cinnamon sugar, drizzled with caramel sauce, pipping hot and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream, and then Carmen says " they are filled with Dulce de leche!" They were just scrumptious beyond belief. Lots of friendly folks, an amazing friendly server, and fantastic food we got super quick. I can't wait to go back. Also all was very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of the food.

Been trying to get to this place for a while and finally had the chance today. The service, the…read morevibe, the food, everything was just right. Maybe on the pricey side but I think it was very fair for the quality they serve. On a Sunday afternoon it was a constant stream of customers, but they have some indoor seating and plenty of covered outdoor seating with misters. Ketchup and water dispenser available along with packaged condiments like more ketchup, mustard, mayo, and even malt vinegar. Names are called on the speaker and they have several windows to pick up at. Orders are placed inside or outside at the window. It's pretty neat and makes for a perfect blend of updated/nice with great old school charm. I ordered the Guido (pastrami burger), halfsies (family size of fries and onion rings, opted for waffle fries), and a vanilla twisty with heath bar. The Guido is excellent, but you have to know what you're in for. With the pastrami and the deli mustard, it tastes overwhelmingly like a pastrami sandwich and less like a burger. But the patty, cheese, and veggies do add something to it. It's also very messy, but it was delicious. The onion rings were excellent. They have that smooth batter style, sorta kinda like tempura. My wife prefers the panko style so she was more into the fries. For the fries, they were good but I'd probably opt for normal fries next time instead of waffle fries. I was expecting something somewhat similar to chick fil a, but these were a little on the thicker side and almost had the texture of potato wedges. I'm also not a big fry seasoning guy, and these were well seasoned. But that's a me thing. We still ate them all and you know when I come back I'm not leaving here without fries. The twisty was really good. I might be the only one, but I'm such a sucker for heath bar when I saw it on the menu I had to order it. The ice cream was really good quality. Had a great texture and taste. They were generous with the heath bar. I'm aware I took down a disgusting amount of food, but I think if I could change one thing I'd get the larger size of the twisty next time. It was really good. Wish they had a location closer than 30 mins up the hill, but that won't stop me. Note that my wife asked about the black bean patty and it has cheese in it so it is vegetarian but not dairy free or vegan. So if you go that way, there's that. Not much for you besides fries and dole whip.

A Great Burger, a Little Nostalgia, and a 20-Minute Test of Patience…read more I've been bringing my family to this location for years--back when it was a Foster Freeze. This place has some history for me. Many a Friday night, when I was the Defensive Coordinator for Lincoln High School, I'd find myself here. And on those hot summer days, my wife and I would stop in with our son Jonathan before heading off to watch Lincoln play Nevada City. So, yes... I have a little emotional investment in this place. Fast-forward to today, and I'm happy to report that the burgers are still worth talking about. The buns were soft, the meat was flavorful, and the whole burger experience hit the spot. And, of course, my family gave the milkshakes their official seal of approval--which, in my household, is basically a Michelin star. The menu has plenty of good options, there's outdoor seating, and the staff is genuinely working hard. They're multitasking like their lives depend on it, so every once in a while you may need to repeat your order. But honestly, I'd rather see people working hard and trying to take care of everyone than standing around looking bored. Parking can be a bit challenging, too. Consider it part of the dining experience--your appetizer is finding a parking space. So why only four stars? The wait. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. It wasn't terrible, but when you're hungry enough to start considering whether ketchup packets are technically a meal, 20 minutes feels like a lifetime. That said, the food was really good, the staff was friendly, and there's a genuine sense that people are working hard to make this place successful. Bottom line: Great burgers, excellent milkshakes, a solid menu, friendly people, and a little nostalgia thrown in for free. I'd absolutely recommend giving this place a try. Just remember: bring your appetite, a little patience, and maybe say your order twice. Four stars--and I'll definitely be back.

It seems like a tough crowd--but after my visit, I can see why expectations run high. My cheeseburger featured high-quality, freshly ground beef that was well-seasoned with a flavorful, salty crust. The patty was tender and juicy, exactly what you want from a handcrafted burger. The brioche bun was nicely toasted, and the cheese melted perfectly over the patties--both essential details that elevate a great cheeseburger. The burger was simply but thoughtfully assembled with shredded lettuce, sliced onion, pickles, and Butcher's aioli. Their house-made sauce added a nice depth of flavor without overpowering the beef. I appreciated how they kept the toppings classic and balanced--fresh, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, red onion, and tangy pickles complement the richness of the patty and sauce beautifully. The fries were just as impressive. They had that ideal contrast: an ultra-crispy, golden-brown exterior with a light, fluffy interior. Perfectly seasoned, pleasantly salty, not greasy, and sturdy enough to hold their shape--they checked all the boxes. Overall, they hit all the key elements of a truly great handcrafted cheeseburger and fries. High marks from me.

We ordered two of the regular fat burgers with all of the toppings and sauces to get the full experience. We also ordered some skinny fries and onion rings. Service was friendly. It did take a little longer than I expected for our order to come out. I would say about 15-20 minutes at least. The restaurant was clean. We brought it home immediately, and I found each of food items to be just barely warm. For the burger, the different toppings were nice to have, but nothing super unique. The bun was probably the most disappointing part was the bun. The bun wasn't really soft, and definitely not warmed up. It would have been nice if the bread was toasted at the very least. The bun itself was also a little dry. The skinny fries had potential to be better. They were mostly soggy and unfortunately not salted enough. The onion rings were not crispy despite the batter appearing to be that way in many pictures. I can't really see myself coming back here.

Good burger, huge, hot, flavored like the kind you make at home in a fry pan, eg pepper, salt and possibly garlic powder. Nice huge dense bun, too. Fries were good, also hot. It's a big deal when you eat out and are served hot food. Great meal, huge portion and truly reminded me of a home cooked burger. Friendly professional customer service, quick to order and receive a great meal. Offered me ranch, thousand island dressing for fries, no extra cost. They have cardio, salt and pepper, mints, hand wipes, nice touch along with mints. Two big screen TV's, no blaring way to loud music. I'll try it again in the future. Looks like they have milkshakes including vegan flavors, chicken sandwich, ground turkey burger.
