The total was almost $50. The staff were polite and quick with the order. This is the only food option aside from the taqueria across the street. Mel's Diners no longer have fried shrimp. That's the background here. It's a guilty pleasure, and Mama Mia's has it. This place is tiny, with a front room that consists of the kitchen, ordering and pay area, and two little tables. It was cold and rainy today, and the door was kept open. Probably kept the air fresher that way. I ordered my shrimp and chips and sat down. It didn't take long, and they were brought over to me, along with a can of diet Coke and a small bowl with ketchup and tartar sauce packets. Not an impressive display, but I got what I wanted. Made a pit stop here today. Normally don't stop in Brisbane to eat because of the prices but today I chose to take a hit. This pizza place stood out to me so I tried it out. Cool thing is they sell slices. I got a combo and cheese slice, $10.35. The pizza was a little greasier than expected, but good nonetheless. We ordered the Mama Mia combo pizza and the garlic bread with cheese. The garlic bread was very garlicky, which I love. I just wish they used a crusty bread. But overall hit the spot. The pizza was great. Both my kids ate 2 slices, and one of them is picky about his pizza. The crust is not too bready, which is my preference. I recently ordered a medium cheese pizza on. Friday night after work. This pizza shop is near my house so its very convenient. I have read all of the bad reviews but decided to try it regardless. I have to say that the pizza was great, The crust was very light and the sauce had a great flavor and the amount of cheese was perfect. Above all the price was very reasonable and the order was ready right as I walked in. The staff were very friendly and I will be back for sure. Mama Mia's Pizza is the best thing that ever happened to Brisbane, CA. Grew up with friends who owned a well-established and recognizable pizzeria in several locations throughout San Francisco including the peninsula so I am familiar with different types of pizza. My first experience with Mama Mia's pizza was excellent. The crust is delicious, the tomato sauce is sweet and NOT acidic as many others are. Mushrooms are thick slices and taste like mushrooms as opposed to other places who slice them paper thin which leaves them tasteless. The generous helping of cheese stretches as each piece disappears from the box. Every pizza (Mushroom & Pepperoni) seems to get better and better. To the owners Roger & Oscar, I thank you for your incredibly delicious pizza, your dedication to providing the best ingredients for your food and the joy you have in your pride of ownership. I am embarrassed to say that this is our local pizza place in Brisbane. While the pizza is so-so, I patronized it regularly when I wanted pizza to support a local business. No more. Their very mediocre pizza has doubled in price in the past month. It is now as expensive as the fancy and much better quality places. The owner is not there in the evenings and the staff are just not helpful. Next time, Roundtable or any place else, sorry to say. If you want good pizza at a reasonable price, go elsewhere. Barely adequate. Had the calzone, which was overpriced. Since I am a local, I do my best to shop at local businesses to keep the $$$ in the family, so to say. Large Calzone was paper thin. And we were given 1 small co trainer of pizza sauce...those containers that are about the size of 50 cent coin. I realize overhead costs are high I. The Bay Area, but if you are going to charge $40 for a large calzone and small salad, and two tablespoons of sauce, then at least do it right. The calzone itself tasted fine. Really this place is a hole in the wall and nothing to look at. I was going to turn around but cravings are cravings. I believe my garage is bigger than the restaurant. At least the place has a TV set to go with the two tables and four chairs. I would feel bad for the guys that work there because it gets hot but not really. Not really because if they didn't work, I wouldn't get such a fantastic pizza!!! I got a medium works minus the black olives and substituted for anchovies. Definitely had a moment of desperation pizza and Mama Mia was the attempted solution. By far, not a recommended pizza experience if you are ordering by the slice. While the whole pies coming out of the oven looked pretty dang good and smelled rather divine, pizza by the slice comes served to you out of a warmer that looks like its been warming the slices for centuries. Every slice starts as a slice of congealed cheese cheese pizza which is then topped with your selected toppings. I went with just mushrooms. I had imagined that I would get warm slice with gooey cheese topped with a generous portion of thin sliced baby bellas or button mushrooms. What I got was a warm but congealed cheese base with a tiny helping of what looked like canned sliced mushrooms and the saddest sprinkling of shredded mozz half melted. I couldn't even bare to take a picture. Definitely would have been better off going to Costco business center. Pros, if any, was the slice size for the price. The quality has really gone down in the recent months. Living in Brisbane this was one of our go-to places for the last 5 years when we did not want to cook dinner. We frequented this spot almost weekly. Unfortunately, we will no longer be doing that. Last week one large and one medium pizza cost us $60! To top it off one of the pizzas was not completely cooked so we had to finish baking it in our oven. Today we tried them again for their fettuccine pastas that we always enjoyed. Today, the pasta sauce was watery and tasteless. They could not even provide a bag to carry the 4 hot plates and so the watery sauce dripped everywhere. To top it off this terrible dinner cost my family $80! I hate to knock a local business and I understand that prices are going up for everything, but don't raise prices while lowering quality. When I arrived I stashed my Whip Big Ken behind the bar down the street . There's only street parking at Mama Mia . I street hiked to Mama Mia. They are Literally a Hole in Wall Pizza place . They do a lot of Delivery Business and To Go. There are 2 tables inside but they have a large Back Patio. They hav and Ie a Huge Menu . They even have Burgers and Fries , Fish and Chips and Salads. When I entered I was Greeted and Given time to peruse the Menu . I ordered a Combination Slice and Fish and Chips. I paid by Discover Card . 15 Minutes later I had my Food the Combo Slice was tasty and not oily . The Fish and Chips were good , but the Fish was a little on the small size. A cute pizzeria with a good recipe. The crust is crispy and not greasy. The tomato sauce is mild and not overwhelming. The toppings are evenly distributed. The people inside are pleasant. Great pizza and such a great variety on their menu if you're in the mood for something else. I would give them 5 stars but I have ordered delivery regularly for many years and there has been a handful of times I've received a pizza with a burnt/black bottom :( having experience making pizza myself for about 4 years I just think there should be a standard to send out a pizza and if it is burnt it shouldn't be overlooked and should be remade. The pizza is pretty good, I would just recommend a basic pepperoni pizza. The pricing is a bit high in my opinion.
