We ordered a specialty pizza, small brass monkey on a deep dish. First of all, the presentation of this pizza looks beautiful, lol. So I was really happy that it tasted freaking amazing! The Italian sausage, spinach, mushroom, onion and garlic with the ricotta, feta and mozzarella (yes lots of cheese!) was delicious! You can taste all the different ingredients on every bite! I love mushroom and garlic as it brought out an umami/savory flavor to the dish. The corn meal crust melts in your mouth and was not heavy at all. For each slice, felt like you just ate 2 slice because of how much stuffing they put into this pizza. It was soooo filling!!! Small is perfect for 3 people. My friends and I had long known Little Star Pizza, an SF staple for many years, one of few deep dish pizza makers in the '90's. When they ambitiously expanded and spawned this brand, I was happy for not having to stress over the parking situation in the Mission. We started coming here for friend get together which morphed into weekend takeout family meals. In recent months, I've been getting food, mainly appetizers, for my friend and occasionally getting a pie and salad for meals throughout the workweek. Pizza for breakfast anyone? I actually stopped here on Saturday 5/30th and got that. As I enjoy my remaining slices in the next few days, I will savor those bites. Bread, dijon, lettuce, turkey, queso. The dijon did for flavor what the lettuce did for texture, throwing in a twang that kept the sandwich interesting. Its creaminess tag-teamed with the cheese to keep the sandwich in one piece. Great sidekicks. The turkey was... Nothing special. Clean but mundane, for the star of the show was the bread.    Some of you might roll your eyes.  No shiet, Sherlock.  THIS. I'm glad we did because everything was good. We ordered the pizza, BBQ wings, a Philly cheesesteak, burgers, and fried Oreos. The pizza slices were huge, the wings had great flavor, and the Philly cheesesteak was loaded. Even the fried Oreos were fresh and hit the spot. Not gonna lie, we cleaned our plates. My husband was especially happy with the portions and quality, which says a lot because he's usually the toughest one to impress. Good food, good portions, and they're open until 3 AM.
