I've never been so excited for a restaurant to reopen! I stopped in for an early dinner and couldn't pick on thing for myself so I chose the three that caught my attention first. I chose the Porky Mac Balls ( you can get 3 or 6 so I chose 3 ) , the Chicken Tacos and the Smoked Mac N Cheese. The flavors are out of the world good! Everything was fresh , hot, and honestly just pretty to look at! Decor is very nicely done, restaurant was spotless , and the staff were friendly and informative. If I could give more stars I absolutely would ! Way to go Mia's Village Eats , WAY TO GO!!! I got a large 2 item pizza. One of the items was mushrooms. Good news: They put a lot of 'shrooms on that pie. Bad news: CANNED mushrooms! Pizza crust could have been crispier. It was ready when they said it would be. I'll be back, but not of if I want mushrooms as one of my toppings. read more

I have been eating here for almost 30 years. They made one of the best pizzas in the area. I couldn't wait for them to reopen. They promised they didn't change the recipes, they said they didn't change the recipes, but they did. The sauce is not the same on their pizzas. I was very disappointed. They insisted they didn't change the sauce, until I talked with the owner and she said well they "used a higher quality sauce and added to it" well that isn't the same sauce then. I am sad and disappointed they did not stick with the tried and true recipes. I will not ever order the pizza her again until they change back to the original sauce. I did have a sandwich however, the sandwich was very good. I may go back for the sandwich, but the pizza was but a shadow of what it once was. I implore the owners please please please change back to the old sauce. I'm not the only one, many people I have spoken to agree the pizza is not the same. read more

Before you think I'm a mean jerk with this one star review, look at my massive number of reviews and notice how few lousy ones I've given. I am a pizza chasing geek and will travel far to have good pizza, kind of like some people will drive all around trying new craft beer breweries. Here is the salient quote coming from someone with over 150 reviews: This is possibly the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. It was a salt bomb that had a poorly textured crust and no good flavors coming through. I virtually always finish every pizza I order, but I left most of this for the trash. I'm not a huge fan on thin crust pizza and maybe I didn't look at the website close enough to see how thin the crust was. The breadsticks also seemed like something you could get in the freezer section. My family enjoyed the pizza, but I would not go back when we are in town. Our pizza was delivered hot and 15 minutes earlier than expected. Their thin crust is our favorite and the sauce is amazing.

Probably the best pizza in the area. Small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that gets sweltering in the summer. I suggest takeout to a local park on the water somewhere (you are surrounded by water in SL) and watch the boats. Or head to Stan's Bar down the road and have them deliver it there. Canned mushrooms. Very little sausage. Disappointing. Quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had.

We stopped by this afternoon and ordered a 1/2 baked 14" Sausage and Mushroom pizza as we saw someone else on Facebook posted that they really liked it. It's conveniently located a few steps from Stans Bar so he said it would only take 15-20 minutes (1 beer) so I said I would return afterwards. We took it home at 2:00 pm and tonight we proceeded to heat it up at 400°F for 15 minutes and it was AWESOME! Super thin crust and loads of mushrooms which is the way we like it. We are full time residents now but originally from the Chicago area where pizza is a religion so we have tried many others in the Grand Haven area and this one was really good. Similar to Vito & Nicks crust and loads of mushroom like Chesdans that our Chicago peeps would understand. Enjoy! read more

If I can offer one piece of advice to make your life better, do not order the cheesy garlic bread, it is either cheesy (I can see cheese, but it has no taste, and I'm not talking it has a little taste, no, it has no taste) nor garlic, it looks like they just put some cheese on a sub bun, and put in a box with some sauce; I might've given them three stars had it not been for the garlic bread. The crust is super thin, I give them credit for that, even those burned all the way around the edges. I don't hate the pizza, I hate the square cut, in West Michigan, we like triangles not squares. The sauce taste like tomato paste and basil, and nothing else. You do get your moneys worth on the onion, they put about a whole onion on my pizza, really odd, it doesn't work. I wish the pizza tasted good, because it smells amazing, just just because salt is inexpensive, doesn't mean you need to load your pizza up with it, I feel like I need to apologize to my blood pressure monitor after eating this. $27.60 seems a little expensive for what I've got, but if you don't try new things, you don't learn. read more

I've had mediocre pizzas, I've had pizzas that were not cooked properly, I've had skimpy pizzas that were way over priced for what I received. I've had pizzas from chain restaurants, pizzas from "one off" independents, wood fired, coal fired, grilled, "regular" oven pizzas. I really like pizza but this was the worst I have ever had - anywhere in the world (and I've had pizza in China). It looked bad, it smelled bad and it tasted terrible - I didn't even finish one piece. 4 days later and the smell is lingering in the car that was used to pick it up from the shop (right out of the oven). After moving to Grand Haven from Chicago, I was happy to find a Pizza joint that makes a decent thin crust Pizza. While TV has everyone convinced Chicago Pizza means deep dish (not that there is anything wrong with that) Those who grew up eating Pizza in Chicago know every neighborhood has its own hole in the wall that makes super thin, cracker crust pizza with REAL cheese, REAL ITALIAN sausage (not those stupid rabbit turd crumbles of "meat") and just the right amount of sauce. Yes it costs a bit more than a PIZZA! PIZZA! because real ingredients cost more. Mama Mia's reminds me of that Chicago neighborhood style pizza. Not exactly, but pretty close. A very distinct tasting pizza that is different, but still recognizable as pizza. I really love the flavor. Best in Spring Lake and a decent price. The staff is friendly and sometimes will upgrade your order on accident. HOWEVER, there is no air conditioning, so eating-in during the summer makes me sweat as much as my paternity test on Jerry Springer. Alright pizza - but expensive. A small restraunt, only had 1 guy working at the time. Food came out just as fast as you would expect. No crust options, or at least he didn't give us an option. This pizzeria has crashed. Ordered a large thin crust half mushroom and pepperoni and half sausage and onion. Took over 40 minutes to complete. The crust was under cooked. The ingredients had no flavor. The canned mushrooms completely covered the one half obviously to hide the lack of pepperoni.When I called to voice my displeasure so that the owner could take corrective action the person who answered hung up. On calling back I was accused of yelling when I merely wanted to inform the restaurant of their issue I didn't even ask or want a refund.
