To say the least this is always going to be an all time go to restauran. I stumbled across this…read morerestaurant one evening and instantly fell in love. One bite of this food changed my life the Asian food from this sweet lady was the best bite I've ever had. I promise this place will not dissappoint and my server was a curly haired boy server and he was so handsome and very sweet just like his mother who owns the restaurant this is the best food around I highly recommend coming here.

Strolled in around 7:00 p.m. I was the only person here except for another gentlemen who actually just walked through the door. Neat little place. Pretty clean from what I can see and kind of off decorum, but in a good way! I walked in and was immediately greeted with my server. Super nice, super sweet and super polite southern gal, like they usually are which is why I stay in the south. That Southern hospitality, ya dig? Anyways she had me pick my table, and then immediately brought me a menu and took my drink order. I gazed over the menu, and by the time she brought my beverage I was ready to order. I WAS going to go for the chicken adobo, but I didn't want rice because it will keep me up tonight because I don't eat a lot of complex carbohydrates. I hope the pancit noodles won't either. I ordered the all meat Pancit. $22. Came with a little bit of beef, chicken, and shrimp. Good size shrimp too! Came out PIPING hot, and flavorful. I made eye contact which whom I'm pretty sure is owner of this place. I smiled, and she said sternly, "Oh hi!" Hahaha! Kind of reminded me of a nice 'soup Nazi' from Seinfeld. I know Sriracha is Vietnamese, but I asked for soy sauce and sriracha, but they don't have any sort of oriental hot sauce and I wasn't about to put red dot on it. So soy sauce it was. I kind of threw my server for a loop, when I asked for chopsticks hahaha!!! It wasn't a super huge portion, but it was perfect for me. I could see how nitpickers would complain, but, no complaints here! Thank you for a great meal, and the next time I park here, I'll definitely be coming back in! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. TL;DR - Despite how popular and what a tourist stop this is, you still HAVE to grab your beignets…read moreand coffee here, at least once. You do that, you may be stopping more than once. Longer: So I was a little hesitant to go to CDM, because it's such the tourist stop and the first joint anyone mentions when they say "beignet". But this was our first stop, morning of first day. The beignets are piled in sugar, they are warm, crunchy and crisp on the outside and soft, warm and delicate inside. I gotta tell you, the texture is just a little different than Cafe Beignet, the Four Seasons, and even the other CDM in the park we tried a few days later. To me, this is the best one. Now, as a coffee person, their black coffee is strong, rich, and a good compliment to the real show - the beignets. But I did not pick up on nearly as much chicory in their chicory coffee as, say, Cafe Beignet's version. Also, I have to let you know the other location in the big park serves a non-chicory version (in addition to NOLA chicory) that is head and shoulders the best coffee we had in New Orleans. But this is the joint. As a bonus, it's colorful, has consistently great street musicians, and has lots of walkable sites as you struggle to waddle around after too many beignets. Gotta go!

This is a must-do if it is your first time in NOLA. But are the beignets tasty? Only if you like…read moresugary powder over fried dough! Don't be deterred if you see a long line - that's for takeout only. The tables are first come, first served. Portions are quite large so good to share a plate (3 beignets) between 2 ppl. Service can take a while if they happen to be taking a break (that was the case for us). And you are expected to pay when the orders are delivered (cash only). Make sure to tip extra because it is one tough job.

We sat outside, which was nice, but the service didn't come around very often. My companions got their meals after waiting a while. I asked the waitress about it and she said she would check, but I ended up going inside myself after waiting longer. One of the staff members was a bit rude, while the other three were very nice, so it felt like it really depended on who you got. The tuna poke salad never arrived. At one point, they said we never placed an order, but they were able to reorder it and get it ready quickly. I ended up not reordering since everything was fine, and my friend shared her Greek chicken salad with me. The food overall was really good-the hummus was delicious. The pistachio cake was amazing . I brought my husband the next day so he could experience the place, and we had a much better experience with the service. Overall, mixed experience with service, but the food was enjoyable and I would still consider coming back and try the Tuna Poke Salad
