Disappointing. I wanted good udon noodles. Rates 4 stars on Yelp. First, the parking. Busy street in front, so park in back, walk around building to enter on porch. Big, open industrial appearing room. Zero character or warmth. Order at counter in back of room. I ordered udon noodles, which were fried, nothing a broth. Nice, thick noodles but greasy. Served with choice of meat. I chose pork, which was tough. I also had the "Ultmate Fresh Roll" which had lots of lettuce. Service was good. But food disappointing. read more

Came in for the air show, and had a craving for some decent noodles. Interior was nice and clean, and cashier was amicable, although she didn't know the name of the purple grains in the sticky rice. Food was beyond bland. Udon required 3tblspn of chili oil, and soy sauce for it to have any kind of flavor, despite ordering it as extra spicy. Might be the locals interpretation of flavorful, so barely any points off for that, but it lacked any kind of seasoning whatsoever. Just oily noodles with a few sparse pieces of tough pork. It really is very little effort to velvet the meat like every other Asian restaurant. Pork belly was alright, but was a skimpy portion and the rice was almost the entire dish. Normally Asian food is flavorful and plentiful, but not in this case. Pork belly was tough and lacked any kind of texture but at least it still had some pork taste to it. No hint of seasoning other than maybe some light salt. Normally would not mind so much, but for $15 a portion, it should either be plentiful or flavorful. Area in general lacks lots of options, so I guess college students have to go here if they want some expensive munchies. read more

Socially distant tables. Self cleaning area so you can drop off plates and utensils when done eating. Minimal cross contamination noted, except for when going to the bathroom which is separate from the current venue and requires a key that is touched by everyone to leave this space and go to another space, not ideal. Service was friendly. Not many people dining as to be expected. Prices were fairly pricey IMO. Bowl of pho over $12 is a bit absurd but we got it to try. Overall, the two dishes we got were okay, but very very salty. Both dishes were overly salted. My pho bowl barely had enough meat to be a good proportion to the noodles. Usually you want an abundance of meat but in this case the meat was gone by the time you got half to 3/4 done with the noodles. Meatballs were odd too, not the best type I've had, not fresh, definitely frozen bought. The spicy noodles my friend bought was mildly spicy but for those not use to spice it would be moderate. Again, overly salty, he could not finish it and brought it home to water down which ended up being much better. We also got the pork buns, not freshly made, nothing special about them. Would not get again in future for the price or flavors Overall, it was a must try at least once, asian food is clearly not a strong suit in the area so you get what you can take. We will likely not be back in the future but if we do, will stay away from the soups and try the other options on the menu. Happy eating! read more

We were really excited to grab banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee from this place based on the reviews and menu. We called in our order (no online ordering option) and the woman on the phone was very nice, knowledgeable and fast. The order was ready when we arrived. Unfortunately, this first impression didn't last. The coffee: We were surprised to see that our "Vietnamese iced coffee" had almond milk in it instead of condensed milk. We didn't make any special requests so this was their version of it. The coffee was very weak and tasted like fridge. The almond milk didn't make it any better. We literally couldn't even drink them. It was not even close to what you would expect when ordering Vietnamese iced coffee. Period. Banh mi: the buns were not traditional or even a sub bun. They looked tasty so we didn't care. Once we took a bite the disappointment was evident in both of our faces. The chicken had no seasoning (normally marinated for hours) and the veggies weren't pickled. The only flavor in the sandwich came from some sauce (normally mayo) that covered everything with an unknown taste and was extremely salty. I've had banh mi all over the county and I love them. I've tried a fair share of not so good ones and I still ate every bite. This sandwich unfortunately was not worth the money, calories or time. Won't be going back to this restaurant and I wouldn't recommend it either. Sorry Mama's Noodle, it was a miss all the way for us :( read more

We popped in before a show at the Skyline. There was a mix up and another customer with the same name accidentally received our order. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and whipped up another order. The Pork Buns are amazing! The crab ragoons creamy and flavorful. What amazing food! Food here is delicious but kinda pricey compared to other places. If you were to come here, I'd recommend getting their pad Thai and signature pho or Korean fried chicken, everything is good but those are my top three. Place is nice and clean, self serve veggies and putting plates away which is convenient and helping them since it looks like they might be short staffed. I haven't been back for a year or so no cause last time I went some hill Billy buying vape did a hit and run on my car and there were witnesses but no help. We stopped in looking for something different. I wanted to like it but the pad thai did not have much flavor at all. I ordered it with tofu and hoped for it to absorb some of the flavor but it was pretty bland. Also ordered the kimchi udon noodle dish with pork. There was not a lot of meat and the kimchi was very sour which in turn soured everything else. The egg rolls were pretty good but very oily. So many things were night right with my visit. First I placed my order online. I ordered the Mama's signature pho and the House special pho. I placed my order an hour prior to when I would arrive and set the time for pick up. I showed up about 10 min after my Scheduled pickup and it wasn't ready. No big deal the cool looked like he was pretty busy with pick up orders so the cashier told me it would be about 5 minutes. I came back 10 minutes later and nothing. I told her I ordered it online over 90 minutes ago. She then proceeded to tell me that their online orders come in on a different computer that goes in sleep mode regularly and she forgets to check it sometimes so she just realized that there was an order placed. She printed the ticket gave to the cook and told me it would be 15 more minutes and that in the future if I placed an online order I should also call to make sure they received it - like what? If your process doesn't work fix it or don't have it - it should let be the burden of the customer. Now let's talk food - the house special pho was ok. Not the best pho I've had but not terrible. Now the Mama's Signature - so this was a bit spicy which I didn't mind but OMG the salt! Soooooo salty. Too salty. I liked the beef rib but I was a bit disappointed that there was no oxtail. I ordered this because we wanted oxtail and that's what it says on the menu, but there was never any mention that they were out of oxtail. The other disappointment was I asked for pho garnishes and wasnt given any - no bean sprouts, limes, onion, jalapeño. Literally paid $35 (because I tipped when I paid online) for salty broth, meats, noodles and green onions. It makes me sad I had to write this because I have wanted to try this place for a while now and based off the 4 star rating I expected much better. read more

The orange chicken was the best I've ever had! The children was moist, the breading texture was amazing and the orange sauce also had good flavor and consistency. Great spot. Great foods. But they do run it differently. You get your own utensils, herbs, and veggies to put in your pho. And you clean up your own table and take your dirty dishes to a bin they have for when they come get it later. read more

Great pho, with big portions. Oshkosh has needed this for a long time. We got the house special pho and it was fantastic. Also got hmong egg rolls and they were just as good. We walked and looked at the menu on the counter and ordered there. After sitting down they brought us our egg rolls and then called our number when the pho was ready. There's a counter to the side with condiments for your pho. Service was nice, very friendly. read more

Their Kimchi fried rice is immaculate. Great customer service! Highly recommend this restaurant as a quick go to for Asian food.

They close at 8 most nights which is why it took me 4 times to finally make it on time. Employees are nice and I was impressed with the signature pho. Two huge beef ribs are included! The only reason this got one star was that the person taking the order was friendly. I tried to order chicken teriyaki and was told I couldn't substitute the stick rice with noodles as they don't make noodles. That didn't sound right to me but didn't argue. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken. Lo and behold, the Pad Thai came with the exact same noodles I would have substituted. But maybe it was good I didn't get the chicken teriyaki as I only got 2-3 quarter sized pieces of chicken and maybe 6 dime size or smaller pieces of chicken. There was a good amount of egg in the order, though. Fair amount of sauce, but didn't taste like any Pad Thai I had ever had before. My wife ordered Pho with steak and meatballs and a Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea was watered down and probably the worst one my wife has ever had. The Pho came out without any of the vegetables that you add into the pho. When my wife questioned the person who took the order, she said she was sorry and then brought some out. (We heard her say that she was sorry multiple times while we were there)! It was a small amount of bean sprouts, two slices of lime, some jalapeno pepper, and a few pieces of mint. No cilantro or other greens like we always get at other locations. The pho was watered down as well. The meat was of good quality and the pho came in a good sized bowl. One redeeming feature was the egg rolls. They were very large, freshly made, and very good. You order at a counter and they do bring the food to you. The time from ordering to getting the food was not long at all. However, you are expected to put all your cups, bowls, plates, utensils in bins that they have against a wall. The bins were all full and looked like they hadn't been emptied in hours. Also, finding the place was difficult as there is no signage from the street and you have to figure out for yourself where to go in as it shares a entry (that isn't marked) with another restaurant. We had high hopes for Momma's, especially after looking at their website. However, we were extremely disappointed and needless to say, will not be going back. read more

The page didn't seem to have as many stars, but I really wanted to come here and try out their spicy oxtail pho! It was a cold day so soup was going to be perfect. I came in around 4:30 pm and was greeted by the cashier. She told me I could order and pay at the desk. I ordered the spicy oxtail special pho with papaya salad (one pepper). The meal came out pretty fast and the pho bowl was humongous! Veggies and sauce were all on the side bar and self-serve. The cook told me to test the broth first before I added in any additional sauce. I tried it out and it was very flavorful/spicy! I loved it. Even though it was such a big bowl, I realized later on that there were mainly just noodles in my bowl. There were only 2 oxtails and a beef rib. By the time I ate most of my noodles due to the fear of the noodles expanding, I was too full to finish my beef rib. The broth was soooo good though. I then tried out my papaya salad and it was also on point in terms of flavoring- one pepper added a kick to it but it wasn't too hot to consume. I loved it... Overall, I really like my meal. I wouldn't really say it's like Vietnamese pho because it actually reminded me a lot of the Thai boat noodle soup- flavorful and spicy. With COVID, we are trying some new places and Mama's didn't disappoint. Basil fried rice - so refreshingly flavorful! Hmong egg rolls - it's good it is big because every bite was delicious. I had the Pad Thai and there is enough for probably 2 more meals! My daughter had the yakisoba and somehow ate the entire portion! We enjoyed it on our back deck, enjoying one of the first evenings of spring, wonderful food and a peaceful setting. read more

Although the meal was decent (not as flavorful as I hoped), it was quite overpriced. The tables and floors were sticky, and the "rules" posted everywhere paired with the elaborate self-service stuff (like busing your table and separating every single item you have into another bin) felt like being a staff member who paid to be there. There was an older lady who I presume to be "mama" patrolling and watching everyone silently. Enforcing the "rules" ? AWFUL! Double check your food orders, the WHOLE order. I ordered online and my order came out awful. First off I asked for the meat balls to be taken out and to substitute more beef and they did not do that. I ordered the large portion and I was only given the meat portion for the SMALL one. I also paid an extra $2 for the extra meat and was ALSO NOT given that. To top it off my bean sprouts were soggy and slimy and didn't have crunch. To make matters even worse, when I called to explain the situation and the worker argued with me about the meat portions and it's extra meat not double etc. I told him I didn't care about the correct words, just that I paid extra for meat and had substitutions that were not given to me and that my bean sprouts were soggy. When I asked how we can fix it he said I can make the hour round trip back to get my $2 back and I said no can I get my money back, or get my meal remade next week when I come in and he replied with "we will see what happens when you come in next week". That's ridiculous!!! Don't waste your time. And if you do and it's not done correctly, don't even bother letting them know since they won't help at all. read more
