My heart was mended as Totodile, Cyndaquil, and Chikorita melted Meowth's icy heart with a warm island song and used teamwork and the power of friendship to escape the cave that was being blocked by a large sleepy Snorlax. Our airbnb host recommended this place. It was quite packed on a week day night and thought it should be ok. We are very particular about raw sushi and never had ACYE before. We prefer omakase but this isn't available in this part of WI. Upon looking at its menu, it turned out their sushi were made with imitation crab, salmon, tuna, or shrimp as a foundation. Then, they added various sauces, veggies toppings, and called different rolls with catchy names. We ate several rolls and appetizers. Always a good time here. Good quick staff. All you can eat sushi! And it's actually decent sushi, not low tiered ingredients by any means. Do have large and small tables for large and small groups. More dimly lit, street parking. Have tried several of the rolls and really not too much complain about but if wanted to nitpick, some of the rolls were not as tightly rolled therefore they would fall apart, but nothing crazy. Apps were okay, nothing special. Will say, not a fan of their fried rice. Have gotten it 2 separate times now and it's very bland, but it's part of the all you can eat so not a big issue. I loved this restaurant as much as I loved Appleton, WI. My fiancé and I took the drive from Chicago to explore little towns in Wisconsin and decided to try this place for dinner. The place was beyond packed when we first walked in, but all tables were 6ft (even more) apart and the entire staff were wearing masks and constantly disinfecting tables. It was a long wait unfortunately due to the limited capacity but it was well worth it. You can either ask for a paper menu or if you want to be extra COVID cautious, you have the option to scan the menu barcode and use your phone. The menu is extensive and they have some really good and appetizing rolls, however, the AYCE option would be the best bet for your money. The fiancé and I chose the AYCE option and ended up ordering one of each of their specialty rolls along with a few appetizers. There was a bit of a wait on the food but that's understandable considering it was a Saturday night. Our waitress was delightful and checked up on us every once in a while to make sure we were doing okay. The roll were delicious, fresh with really nothing to complain about. Crazy roll, Wisconsin roll, and sushi lover roll. Also shared some fried rice (not the greatest but ok). All the rolls were absolutely delicious but they are on the smaller side. We tried out the new Appleton location and it didn't disappoint. We love the Green Bay one and the Appleton is almost identical. The set up and decorations are the same. They have great food and is all you can eat. I like that it's a "buffet" but you order what you want and the server brings it to you so everything is fresh. There is a QR code digital menu for COVID that you read on your phone. Guests are encouraged not to waste food and there are notes on their website that you will be charged for wasting. You get what you pay for. It's fun that it's all you can eat and they have an interesting variety of sushi, but as with the case with a lot of AYCE the quality isn't great. Our family likes sushi, so we had to try out this "buffet" - order anything on the menu and they bring it to you, just don't over-order (leave a lot of food uneaten) or you will pay extra (which I think is a good policy - too much food gets wasted at restaurants). You even get to try things like eel and octopus! The waiters/waitresses and busboys keep VERY busy serving the tables; we never really had to wait that long for the next orders, which was surprising because of how busy it was there (no reservations, BTW - get there earlier on weekends). We enjoyed all the different sushi, salads, appetizers and grilled items - well worth the $25/person for dinner. And we got a special surprise because of our son's birthday (and it wasn't the wait staff singing Happy Birthday, thankfully). If you like Japanese food, you will love this place! read more

My wife had the rainbow roll (her favorite), a Philly (quite good), and a California roll. My daughter had a monkey roll (odd but she loved it) and shared the California roll. I came in Monday night for dinner and there were a lot of problems. First off, be sure you read the pricing info on the menu. $27.00 for AYCE sushi seems really steep for what we got. We discovered too late that there was no a la carte option for those who want a smaller meal. But, we decided to stay and try it out. Shrimp Tempura did not at all resemble actual tempura. Seemed to be some kind of cornmeal crust on it? Very strange. Then ordered a few different fish items, salmon, eel, white tuna, and tamago. The fish didn't taste really bad or anything, but fresh, sticky rice is an important part of good sushi and this rice was just wrong. Kind of stiff and crumbly, I'm guessing maybe it was pre-formed into little balls too far ahead of time? Or maybe it was the wrong kind of rice?
