This mom and pop place makes fresh to order delicious food! I had the chicken shawarma sandwich and baba ganoush. Soooo good. So fresh.

Was out of the area and read the yelp reviews to find a nearby restaurant so we tried the food. Have to say that the reviews were accurate. Great food - the greek salad was fresh and plentiful with a nice dressing and not overdone. The lentil soup was deliciously hot and tasty. The large sample platter offered variety and quality. It too was fresh and presented well. The iced tea was very good, not too bitter nor sweet. The service was friendly and welcoming, including the patrons. We had time and were not in a rush so it worked well for our schedule. And Evidently they provide take out as well - if you're on the go. The ambiance is casual and cheerful with bright colors. Plenty of seating with a couple of fun high top tables too. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which we prefer frequenting a standalone but this didn't detract from the experience. It almost deterred us from going to the restaurant and happy to have gambled on the venue as this was also a day of celebration and it could have gone south, but it didn't. In fact, this food is better than our local mediterranean restaurant. If We are in the area again, will return for sure! read more

Such a great restaurant, everything is so fresh and tasty. I couldn't stop eating the baba ganoush it was so delicious, the hummus was also fantastic, my daughter and I ordered the large combination, which fed us for 2 days. My go-to Armenian/Mediterranean restaurant. Their kebabs and shawarma are to die for. Their hummus is some of the smoothest, most delicious I've ever tasted. Store-bought hummus is garbage compared to Mama's hummus. The baklava is heavenly. Their seasoned rice pilaf is delicious. The menu is basic, simple and makes ordering hassle-free. They do have a few "extended" menu items you to order which aren't on the marquee above the registers. I highly recommend this place! read more

I honestly don't get all of the 5 stars on here. Maybe because the prices are decent but nothing to come back for. I had the chicken kabob plate, which was good, but not great. Also we received such terrible customer service. The man behind the counter seemed lazy and defensive when they forgot our order. And the lady didnt seem to give two sh*ts. I went to Mama's Kabab yesterday for the first time. I work a couple blocks away and eat lunch in this area five days a week. I ordered the Beef Shawourma and honestly didn't expect too much out of it. I've had this type of cuisine before and generally I enjoy some good protein with rice, pita, and hummus. I was surprised with how much flavor the beef had. The seasoning was great and the beef quality was pretty good. I cleaned my entire plate and also polished off all of the hummus. My son and I ate there several months ago. While the food was authentic and good, the middle eastern TV stations blaring drove me crazy. Why does the owner think that the average American wants to listen to a channel which we can't even understand? Do you have the TV blaring on these channels for the customers enjoyment or your personal entertainment. They clearly don't understand that the customer is king. Oh my goodness! Like everyone else, I found this place on Yelp. Also like everyone else, I found it to be INCREDIBLE!!! I walked in at about 8pm on a Wednesday. My first impression was that it was VERY clean. No sticky tables, no dirty floors, nothing. I ordered the chicken shawourma plate and a lentil soup. Everything took about five to ten minutes to make. After I paid, Mama even gave me a free baklava! She was so sweet! The two men that greeted me were very pleasant, as well. I got my order to go, so I drove home. I opened it all up and it looked great and smelled great...but man oh man...everything was just excellent. The chicken was so flavorful (I agree with a previous reviewer, eat it with the rice to cut down on how strong it is) and the grilled onions were great. The rice was delicious. The hummus....oh the hummus!! So smooth and creamy and YUM. Nice soft pita bread, as well...just wish I got two slices instead of just one, as I had some leftover hummus. It came with a little garlic sauce that everyone seems to be raving about...it is very strong, and I'm sure it would be good if I knew what to put it on...but I just feel like for my plate, everything already was seasoned how I liked it :) The plate came with pickles, as well. My lentil soup was good, and it had carrot chunks in it. The baklava (which I had never had until tonight) was fantastic. Not that I expected anything less, after reading all of the reviews here...but it was sweet and cinnamony and flaky and I just loved it! Can Mama adopt me? Been coming here for a couple years now with the wife and you can never go wrong with MaMa's Kabab! Her food is just sooooo damn Good! I get the #9 large plate and that has rice grilled veggies, steak, chicken and Kafta with the white sauce. We are greeted with warm smiles from Papa and Mama all the time and they give us fresh Hammus and pita bread, pickled veggies and at the end Papa brings us the best tasting BAKLAVA ever! They keep their flavors of their food consistent and that's very important to me which lets me know they care about their costumers and just the quality of food they serve. Bravo Mama and Papa! Looooooove mama's kebab!!!! I always get the chicken and beef shwarma combos. I love the hummus, pitas are great but most of all the chicken and beef are sooo good. I've tried a lot of Mediterranean restaurants lately, and there's always something disappointing about them. However, mama's kebab has got it right. The flavors are on point. Love that garlic sauce as well. Idk if I just haven't seen any, but I wish they had some hot sauce available just to add some spice. Portion sizes are great and prices are decent. I have been to this spot multiple times and it's one of the best places to eat! This time around I ordered the chicken shawourma plate (honestly I order this about 75% of the time haha) which is item #7! I recommend the plate or the sandwich as both are fantastic! I also recommend pairing it with their home made baklava dessert as it is amazing! There is plenty of parking near the restaurant with also plenty of additional things that you can do in the area (like shopping, golf, etc). Just tried this place today with some coworkers. First, let me say that I am middle eastern so I am pretty picky about my mediterranean cuisine. The food was delicious!!!! I got the chicken kabob and I loved it. Very healthy and tasty. Everything tasted juicy and fresh. Service was excellent, the couple was very sweet and accomodating. They came over to check if we needed more of anything. For just over $10 I got a drink, hummus and pita, a kabob plate and they even gave us dessert! What a deal!!!! read more

I have been here a couple time and was very happy woth the food this is a real mom and pop family owned the wife does the cooking and its owned by them as well The food really taste like my mothers cooking if not better (i will never say that in front of her though) the price are very good for what you get. 10.49 for a combo plate of chicken kafta and beef with hummas pita bread pickled vegtables and rice with vegtables and a drink purchased babagunish and lebna on the side. doesnt matter cause the food was worth the price its amazing and lefts over are in your future. And on top of that at the end of your meal you get a middle eastern desert. Amazing all the way around. I will have to say one thing aviod the rushs like lunch the lady really is a one man army (unless she has her daughter to help) but the rush doesnt cost a huge wait maybe 10 min at most. Really great food awesome service my family is Lebanese this food isn't reproduced American trash it tastes like if it came out of my grandmother's kitchen. Everything is made with care. All the produce and meats are fresh and you can tell by the taste. No food coma after eating this because nothing is made greasy, in fact you will get energy after consumption. The beef shwarma is excellent! The hummus is delicious. After a couple visits on my own, I finally got my husband who works in the area to come try and he was equally impressed. Mama is always so sweet and welcoming. You order your food at the counter, but then you are invited to sit and be served before paying. After enjoying your meal, her husband kindly serves you a complimentary desert. So far, I've had rice pudding, another time baklava. These are Mama's homemade deserts. I have never had a better baklava than I've had here. We were even offered an Arabic coffee with our desert. I'm so glad I work right up the block from this place! It's a gem! read more

Food was just ok. Lentil soup was pretty disappointing. I didnt have a single lentil in it, just broth, herbs and carrots. Pita bread was store bought, they didnt even try to warm it up. rice didnt have that authentic middle eastern taste. More like store bought boxed easy yellow rice. Hummus was decent. Meat was salty and dry. Not at all as good as the other reviews claim. They seemed short handed and needed to hire more staff. Maybe this is the best Stanton has to offer for ME and Turkish food, but this for sure is not at all what you should be writing home about. Wont be back. read more

Let me start off with the service. This place seems to be owned by a nice older couple who are very friendly. I purchased the kofta kabob plate and boy do you get a lot of food for your money. Two HUGE koftas, rice, AMAZING hummus, some grilled veg (watch out for those NOT bell peppers, pretty spicy), some pickles, and a large pita. The kofta was seasoned well and very tender. This is my first Yelp review (I think?) after using Yelp for quite a while (sorry). This place was so awesome. A bowl of hummus and very tasty warm pitas, included in the price (and there were other touches such as what seemed to be homemade pickles). The food (chicken kabab) itself was plentiful, healthy, and better than the three-$$$ place I had lunch at the other day. Mama herself took my order with a smile, we had a nice chat about the plight of her home of Syria (they're Armenia). Papa brought the food out to me with a kind smile, and as I finished my entree, I was amazed to receive a small piece of baklava. Exactly what I probably would have paid $4 for and ordered if I had thought of it. Yum! Then there's the venue. Bright but not too bright; very clean; freshly, brightly-painted walls; tasteful but unpretentious decor; in short, exactly what a cafe should be like (IMO). I'll be leaving the area in a few days but I'm pretty sure I'll eat here at least one more time before I leave. read more
