My son and I had such a great experience at Mama's Kabab in Stanton. We both ordered the beef gyro wrap and it was absolutely delicious...perfectly seasoned, fresh, and packed with flavor. It comes on a cute wooden block with picked turnips, pickles, peppers and sauce. What made the visit even better was the excellent service from Adel and Rafael. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. Definitely coming back again and I highly recommend if you're craving a great gyro and top-notch service! read more

I am so happy I was in this area to enjoy the food. To me it is more an experience when food is amazing & service is good & Food is served in a way it makes you smile. ok Lets start with the Taste, I am an Armenian from Turkey so I had some amazing Kebabs, The quality of meat they use is compared to high end restaurants so they get a 5 star there taste was good. Sides like Fries served hot it Humus was WOOOOW garlic spread all very good. Service from the start nice experience. Whoa - a great find in a little strip mall. Big servings, big flavor and big smiles all around. Come hungry if you order a combo. :) I got the combo and the better half got the wrap with beef shawarma. Good stuff and we couldn't finish it all. Friendly vibe - totally hit the spot. Man, Gotta love Mama's Kabab. The best Greek/Armenian/Middle Eastern food in Orange County as far as I am concern. Used to eat here alot a few years ago for lunch when I lived in Cypress. I worked nearby here as well. The people that work here know me well. Friendliest Armenian staff you will ever meet in the OC. Family style restaurant. Love the Kebabs and Beef Shawarma here. This was a tough score to give because the cook ended up helping us and he was absolutely amazing gave us all the time we needed for a first visit. However why the score became so low is when the young lady came out from the back wearing gloves she was touching money touching her hair then touching food. Also all the tables were dirty and the cleaning solution was left on the counter near the tea/drinks. Food quality was mediocre at best but the portions were large. Doubt we will return and being honest, watching the owner come in with things out of his SUV from what appears to be smart and final tells me they're struggling read more

Stopped by and picked up a family meal for dinner. This place is under new ownership and they have remodeled inside with a new store sign on the outside! Loved everything about my meal and my family enjoyed it as well! Everything was fresh, tasty and the quality of meats was 10/10! Very tender and juicy and the kafta was my fave and the chicken was my husband's fave! We will be back to try their other items! When I arrived here in the evening I was the only customer. The guy at the counter was polite but not very friendly. It was very bright in there and had Arabic music playing on videos on screens. I got the chicken shawarma plate. I was a bit confused because the menu screen only shows wraps but the paper menu by the register shows plates. So the plate was very generous. The chicken had good flavor but was a bit dry. The rice was very fluffy and not sticky, very good texture. Husband saw this place and wanted to stop for lunch - the food here is fantastic. I had the chicken shawarma wrap and husband got the kafta beef kabab entree. Both were delicious. But If you're super hungry definitely get the entree because it's A LOT of food! The chicken wrap was a bit more manageable but still plenty big. I saw some reviews mentioning the new ownership, but honestly, I think the food and service are better than ever! Everything tasted so fresh and home-cooked. You can tell there's real care put into each dish. I think the owner was there when I visited, and she was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the food (and super cute, too!) Mama's Kabab will forever be my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. It's a walk‑up, counter‑service spot, and the gentleman behind the counter (who I believe is the owner) is always so kind. Truly--protect this man at all costs! The food is consistently fresh because nothing is prepared until you order it. That does mean there can sometimes be a bit of a wait, but it's absolutely worth it every time. They also make their hummus fresh every morning, so I always grab an extra side to snack on throughout the day. Very pleasant staff. Nice and clean. You can tell they appreciate the business from their customers. First time here had the Mediterranean salad and chicken kabob entree. I expected something a bit different from the salad but ill have to check out the other options next time. The chicken was delicious as was the rice and hummus. Was given a complimentary baklava while we waited which was sooooo good. Food took a while but they are literally making it when you order it so it's nice and fresh. Will return for sure. read more

Small, family owned place. Older man and woman were the only 2 working. He seemed genuinely happy to be there! Took about 30min for our order to be ready, we walked in and ordered. They made our food on the spot, we took it to go. It was still hot when we got home. I got the #9 combo small platter and my husband got the #7 chicken schwarma plate. We also got a side of grape leaves. Everything is so good. I wanted to try the different meats and wasn't disappointed by any of it! Hummus is sublime, roasted veggies, rice, pita bread, all of it delicious. The small was enough for both of us to have another meal as leftovers. Please go visit this place if you like Mediterranean food. I'd hate to see it close, it was empty inside except for another group of 2 taking their food to go as well (it was also Valentine's day but still). After reading other reviews I was shocked that there was no one else there at 5pm on a weekday. I expected it to be out the door, and after eating there, it should be. I can't say enough about the flavor and texture of the meats, delicious. I wasn't into the salad because the dressing has no flavor at all, basically just tasted like oil. The deserts are out of this world as well. Service is excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food came out fast too. This is a small family restaurant and that's exactly the vibe you get when you walk in. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in town. read more

A clean Armenian / Mediterranean restaurant it's family owned. Came in with my wife as she wanted to eat some kafta kabobs and I ordered the chicken shawarma looks like a lot of locals come in to pick up their orders. Food was delicious and flavorful they do not cook unless you order what you want so it gets hot and mouth watering. The only takeaway is they don't have air conditioning so it's warm inside but cold outside because we came in the month of January. read more

Firstly, the owner is very friendly, we went in nearing closing time, which we didn't realize. He took our order, we had a nice chat. The chicken kabob skewer plate was delicious. Very well done, not rushed and juicy. We would be regular here now that they offer both small and large portions. The new owner has upgraded the interiors as well. When I picked up my food the place did not look very well lighted smelled dingy and not one person was there at noon on a Friday. Won't be coming back. Mama's Kabab is a family-owned restaurant stationed in a decent strip mall. The place has a cafeteria feel to it, nothing fancy, there is a TV on the wall on mute. The service is great and friendly. The front desk takes your order and delivers it to your table. We see many takeout orders, or small groups of friends and family getting together for a casual meal. Hope the couple who run it hang in there, their food has a home-made quality, it is the only place where the kababs are authentic, really tender, cooked to perfection and the lamb shank does not smell strange. We love coming here when we are in the area. The restaurant closes on Sundays and from Christmas to January 2nd. read more

Good homemade food but prepare to wait! Phone in your order for faster service. I always see the lovely couple working and yes they do work at their own pace but the food tastes simple yet delicious. I had the chicken kabob plate and the chicken kabob sandwich/wrap and it always hits. Garlic sauce is a must. Hummus was good for dipping chicken and pita bread in. Pickled veggies gave the meal a nice acidic component. The chicken sandwich had fresh lettuce and onions and tomatoes with garlic sauce. I've had the samplers plate and every thing has a homemade look and taste. Price are very fair compared to other kabob places. I love coming here and supporting the elderly couple! read more

Used to love this place .... Ordered tonight and as soon as we opened our food I thought this looks wrong.... The garlic was runny, the hummus tasted so weird, the chicken kabab tasted very different, my husband said his schwarma sandwich was terrible..... the rice was gross.... So I came here to see what happened... New Ownership happened .... Man what a bummer. One of my favorite places and it's ruined. Please change the name because it's now an insult to the original owners. Oh... and the baklava ...... I spit it out. Seriously do better. Not to mention the prices went way up as well! It was a little difficult to find because the entrance is in the back of the building and my Apple Maps hates me lol but once we pulled into the parking lot you get a nice view of the restaurant.
