We were excited to go here after 6 months of eating at home. Checked online and read that they were doing a good job of protecting their dinners from Covid. Prior to this visit we usually dined here at least once a month if not more. We usually order several cheese frenchies, a small pizza and some kind of appetizers. Mama's cheese frenchies are usually the best. They're Hot, Crunchy and Gooey. This time they were almost inedible. Both sandwiches had obviously either been fried to long or fried in burnt oil. They looked so burnt that both the cook and server had to notice just how dark they were. The entire table was surprised that they served them looking like they did. This left us concerned how recipitive they would be to us sending them back. We still had other food and drinks coming so we didn't complain. The sandwiches left such a burnt taste that none of the other food tasted good. Unfortunately next outing won't be to Mama's. read more

Never again! I've been coming to this establishment for years as I live in the area and was accused of not paying for my drinks when I in fact tipped after each beer. The young man would not serve me when I first sat down and later made these accusations after others got my drinks and food to go. I won't be back and was very offended! read more

Went to the new LaVista location today for lunch, was just pizza, nothing special. Im a pizza guy and this is definitely a good pizza but nothing that I would ever crave, onion rings were good but in my eyes just a bad rip-off of Sortinos (which is 10 times better) when we left on a not at all busy day there were at our count approx. 11 tables of people eating, 3 open clean tables and 27......yes 27 un-bussed dirty nasty tables. 3 stars because the pizza was good. I ordered a small beef just for myself and the cheese sticks. I hadnt had it since I was a child. In my opinion it was EXTREMELY overpriced. I realized I couldve just went to Little Ceasars. I may not be their target demo (young college student) but I still wanted to write my opinion. Get cheaper options or have some deals available. Yes, the pizza is great, but Jeff the owner is terrible. I used to work at Mamas Pizza for a year as a bartender. At first I really enjoyed working there until I realized the type of person I was working for. On a couple occasions I overheard the owner making discriminatory remarks about his employees, stating that they should learn English and that he should not have to use a translator to speak directly to them. However, he obviously willingly chooses to hire that specific population. Then, one morning he comes in yelling and cursing at his employees, like what the hell. I was there! I spoke to him directly in regards to this situation and his justification was "I have the right to do that." And oh yeah, when I was speaking to him about how wrong that was and standing up for myself and other employees he said "We are done talking," and walked away when I was still speaking. Too many employees have came and gone because of him. Also, the woman supervisor is so unprofessional and gossips about her own employees even when they are busting their a***. She's another version of Jeff. On the other hand, the other managers are quite nice, the only positive aspect of Mamas Pizza. I'm glad I left because that job was making me so miserable and negative. This is my favorite pizza. I have eaten in a couple of times, I just don't like that they only allow 2 glasses for sodas. I end up usually getting water. Tried Mama's pizza for the first time last night on the recommendation of my girlfriend who grew up eating this pizza. We got it to go so I can not comment like most about the many kids running around. It was actually fairly calm when we stopped to get the pizza. We ordered a medium combination and my first impression was that it was too pricey as I was told it was $19. That was until I saw the pizza. The medium was as big as most places large and was packed with toppings. I do believe the sauce could use to be kicked up a little more with spices and a little more used but the rest of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful and as mentioned piled high. When I first smelled and saw the pizza it brought back memories of the way Godfathers pizza use to be long ago. Out side of the sauce, the taste lived up to that as well. It is not the best pizza I have ever eaten but it is probably now my favorite here in Omaha and I look forward to trying some of there other pizzas and from the sound of it their house garlic sauce. read more

Amazing pizza! Been going to mamas for years and it continues to be a family favorite pizza. The pizza is loaded with cheese and sauce with an average thickness of the crust (not deep dish by any means but not paper thin either). The sauce and cheese make the pizza even better. After reviewing my bank statement for tax season and realized Mama's Pizza ripped me off over $150, me, my family, and my circle of friends will NEVER be returning! The guy on the phone even had the nerve to be rude to me when I asked to speak to the manager! And the manger "Bob" said "Oh you just now found it?" If you're looking for a place to drop your kids to play at the arcade while you drink beer with your friends with kids this might be for you...otherwise find another pizza place. The place is self serve meaning that you place the order at a window, get a buzzer, then go get the order when it's ready. I've had much better pizza at worse looking places than this. We got the meat pizza and friends got the margherita pizza. Both were just okay in my opinion. There were a ton of toppings on the meat pizza and they allowed us to swap out the Canadian bacon for regular bacon, which was nice. The crust usually makes or breaks a pizza for me and this one was lacking flavor and barely there. But that could be because it was covered by the massive toppings. The place is kind of dark and dingy and had it not been for someone inviting us here I doubt I would have picked it on my own. I'd rather take kids to Dave and Busters where they at least can get something after hours of play...this place left them with a gumball and them wanting a new iPod and camera that was clearly unobtainable in the arcade game they were playing.The beer was pretty cheap at $7 a pitcher. I'm not a fan but like I said if you need a place to hang with other parents while the kids play this place might be for you. Went to Mama's for the fist time yesterday. Ordered a Reuben Pizza and All Meat Pizza. Not enough topping on the Reuben. The crust was too thick. All Meat Pizza had lots of topping but not enough sauce. Not the cheapest pizza's in town. I must say that Sgt. Peffers and Zios is tastier. read more

Heard the onion rings were awesome and I have to agree! Light, crispy, and lots of onion--and the only reason I rated it a 3 instead of a 2. After so many raves about the pizza, I was expecting better. Lots of toppings and cheese, but the sauce was lacking. I didn't think it was all that special. read more

We took our four kids to Mama's for a party and experienced long wait times, mediocre food, lots of attitude (from staff), and a frustrating commitment. I had to find eating utensils and forage ketchup off a table waiting to be bused. After being rung up for $60 of pizza, the cashier corrected a mistake (she made) by insisting we pay the $.82 difference. We were wiling to pay the difference but confused about the mistake; they were vague and animate we pay, despite our confusion. No apology. Later, my 7-year-old daughter and I approached the bar and politely asked to have 2 quarters returned after she realized a game marked $.50 really cost $1 to play. The employee insisted, "We can't do that. It would come out of our balance." Over-all, the experience was terrible. read more

I love their pizza. However, they definitely need to train their employees on some issues. I went in to eat tonight and got my delicious pizza. I went to the counter to get some red pepper, and noticed a young man with curly hair blowing/picking his nose very aggressively with tissue. Then someone came up to the counter for a plastic cup lid, and he went back to work handling the cups, lids, and getting people drink refills, all without washing his hands. First of all, he shouldn't be doing that in view of any customers at all, and he DEFINITELY needs to wash his hands after that. He seemed to be a very nice guy when he came to clear our plates, but friendliness isn't the issue, its cleanliness. I was very disgusted by this. First time for me tonight at Mama's at the Saddle Creek location. I agree with the other reviews, there were kids EVERYWHERE and the place was packed! With that being said though, the pizza was HOT, crisp, and loaded with cheese. Beer was ice cold! Will definitely have pizza from Mama's again when in the area. read more

Overall, I think the pizza is average. But there is something about the place I like. There is nothing special in the decor and the parking is cramped. I think the atmosphere and the fact that there is little contact with workers is what makes it enjoyable. I will keep going back, but it has never been because I was craving the pizza. read more

We were there on June 23rd just in time for the start of game one of the CWS finials. The pizza was great (I am originally from Chicago) . One in our party have the veal and it was truly great. Pizza was NOT greasy (Sausage, mushroom and green pepper). Not a mad house at all. No kids running around. This is a great place and I will be returning often to try out the other meals. read more

it's hard to make your typical pizza place look terrible but mamas manages to accomplish the impossible. I personally prefer the small town pizza taste over your typical pizza hut, dominos, however the service exemplified was unacceptable. I am greatly disappointed in Mama's Pizza. We have been getting pizzas there every week for years. Recently they changed their crust. If you have a good product, don't change it! The crust is too thin, soggy and tasteless. I would rather they raise their prices than cheapen their product. Too bad we will have to start going somewhere else. read more
