It has great flavoring and if you are like me and enjoy pizza leftovers the next day, this pizza is still great the next day. I've even had Macaroni and Cheese pizza for breakfast! You could even add your own bacon bits to it! I also like their Hamburger pizza. They put a generous amount of hamburger on the pizza. I called my order in over the phone. Big fan of Mama's pizza, I use to go to the saddle creek location a lot, which is part of the reason I couldn't stick to my diet. 4.6 outta 5. This is one of my favorite family pizza places. Always really good pizza. It seems as if all the locations get equally packed which is a testament to how good the place is. The place does get busy tho, and seems to cater to larger groups or families. If you go there on a Friday or Saturday expect a busy place. The food is always good, I've yet to have anything I was disappointed in. The crust is solid and toppings are great. A 5 star pizza place has to knock my socks off, plus I like fire oven pizza with some crisp to it. But this is my go to for the family. Love this place. read more

We tried Mama's Pizza for the first time tonight. This pizza joint has been recommended to me as a good Omaha pizza place to try. We ordered Mama's combo and the Italian cheese bread. Overall the pizza was tasty - there were plenty of toppings and it was a great flavor combination. The sauce was savory. The crust was a little flimsy- could've been cooked a little longer in the oven. The cheese bread wasn't very impressive. Basically pieces of dry bread with melted cheese. I wouldn't recommend ordering the cheese bread- save yourself the $6.25. I would have this pizza again but with that said, I do like pizza from other Omaha staples including Orsi's and Pitch better. read more

This pizza was Delicious!!! Everything you want in a pizza! The dough was crispy on the bottom, but still "fluffy", aka it is eye appealing, doesn't look like you're about to eat a piece of paper. I hate to give this poor review but well ... here it is. Every time I come in or place an order on the ph they ask if I want to try their new cauliflower crust. I ask if they have samples and they say no. Every single time this has happened, there's someone else in line behind me and they say the same thing that they would like to try a sample. I think it's incredibly stupid for mamas to have a new product like this and not bother to provide samples so when I called today to get an order I decided I'll be a nice guy and order a small cheese pizza with a cauliflower crust so I can try a sample and then the waitress can take it around to the people in the restaurant so other people can try it too. I got passed along to three different managers and finally the last one said we're not interested in that and we're not interested in your order. I got so upset about that response that I called back and asked to talk to the owner. The same manager got on and said that there was some confusion and that they didn't mean to say that I couldn't order for myself just couldn't do the free samples He did say that it was the owner who decided to say no, someone can't pay to provide the samples that he's too selfish to provide himself. And instead of taking the call himself, he hid behind his managers and then left. So I try go out of my way and pay for a pizza so the people I don't know can try this new crust. And mama's response is no. Probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. If that's how mamas wants to play it, I'm happy to take my business elsewhere. Stupid is as stupid does I guess. Part two of my food pilgrimage through Nebraska. Turns out that I pretty much inhaled this thing. The cheese was perfectly melty and the fried bits fantastically crunchy. I find myself craving it from time to time. The dish also came with what appeared to be Ruffles and limp pickle slices. Not terribly impressive. Atmosphere: Ok, I need to be honest. It was pretty creepy in here. I know that they function as a bar, but the lighting was too low at 2 PM in the afternoon for me to feel comfortable. I'm a regular who got fat on pizza and beer. I'm Keto' ing now and 3 weeks in I've been ridiculously successful for 3 weeks. I totally miss Pizza. Last week we came here and I scraped my toppings off the crust for the first time in my life. No carbs but no fun either. I noticed they had a new Gluten free cauliflower crust. I disregarded it as something that probably sucked. Fast forward another week. I NEED PIZZA. Every time I am in Omaha, visiting family, I order pizza from Mama's. Mama's pizza is consistently good! We usually call ahead and place our pizza orders to go. Each time, our pizza is nice and hot, when we pick up and we are home within 5 minutes ready to eat it! I have to say we always enjoy Mama's pizza! The ingredients are fresh, the toppings plentiful, not the least bit skimpy! I enjoy the hamburger with fresh mushrooms, but my custom vegetarian pizza with artichoke, fresh spinach, tomato, mushroom and cheese, is just as tasty! Mama's pizza has lots of other toppings to choose from, so you can customize your pizza to your own liking, each time you place an order! I do like that they slice their pizzas, into "square" slices, that are manageable to pick up with your hands. As a result, you get twice as many smaller slices, which is nice! The advantage here is if you are ordering two or three different kinds of pizzas, you can try one of each of the "smaller square slices" from more than one kind of pizza, where at other pizza joints huge wedges are offered! Inside Mama's, there is plenty of seating with lots of TV's, so you can watch your favorite sports team too. I noticed several large groups seated, enjoying Mama's pizza, on my last pick up. Solid 3.5 Mama's Pizza definitely has a small town, family run vibe. A real 'pizza joint'. It reminds me of the local pizza place in my hometown when I was growing up. Wide open with tables big and small, a bar, and kids running up to their parents asking for money to go play games. Their pizza is good, and I will say consistent. The crust is a little thicker than my favorite NY style, but still tasty. I pretty much always get the pizza only, with an occasional appetizer, which are standard fare, no real stand outs. I've been coming here for years and am just getting around to writing this review. Mama's accommodates both large and small parties. It's great for birthdays and other big gatherings. You can call ahead of time and reserve one of their many large tables. When ordering, it's a bit non-traditional. Food orders are placed and paid for at the bar. When your food is ready, you have to pick it up at the designated food window. As for the pizza, it's delicious and fast. Veggie is my favorite. The pepperoni is also good. Their onion rings are cooked to perfection. The house dressing is creamy garlic. Beverage selections are from your standard domestic brews to a decent micro variety. There are several big screen TVs here to watch your favorite sporting events. For the kiddies, there's a small game room in the far right corner when you walk in. My husband is in a wheelchair. We use disabled parking. When we stopped here for lunch the door that is nearest the disabled parking was locked. This is the door that has the button to open it for those that need assistance. There is a second door but because of the concrete blocks at the front of the parking stalls, my husband would have to go to the end of the parking lot to get to the end of the sidewalk just to get to the other side of the entrance. Not a huge deal for him, but this would be for someone who has difficulty with distance. He waited while I went inside and asked to have the door unlocked. I was willing to give a bit of a pass if that door was less visible from where the staff was, but the door that was unlocked was the one that was not in plain sight. I am assuming it was the manager did come and unlock the door. He didn't offer an apology. He unlocked the door and walked away. Because of how this started we were at two stars. When we decide on our order, there were two girls at two separate registers. They were chatting with each other. I got in line behind a gentleman to wait my turn. Girl A called me over to her register while Girl B continued to help the gentleman. Their conversation continued. Girl A did not greet me. She did not acknowledge that I had appeared in front of her. All of a sudden she is repeating my order back, but I hadn't ordered. It was the gentleman next to me. Let me say I've never had my voice mistaken for a dude ever. A younger girl, yes, a dude, no. Her complete lack of customer service took us down to a one star review. My husband and I were seated. The only person who appeared to actually be working was a young guy who was bringing food out from the kitchen and clearing tables. Someone brought out our onion ring order. We got a half order. The onion rings don't have much flavor, but the dressing to dip them in is delicious. I will say a half order is plenty enough for two people to share! Very generous sized portion. We had ordered individual pizzas and those came out separately. At some point I heard the table behind me have to turn their food away because it was wrong. Cool. Perhaps their cashier wasn't listening? Anyway, the pizza was good. It wasn't good enough to redeem it to three stars. It would have had to have been amazing. It was just genuinely good pizza. Love, love, love Mama's pizza! My mom and I went a couple of weeks ago for dinner, same old vibe as it was from a few years ago. Family owned and ran, and is great for large parties and small dinners. They have changed the process of how you get your order and it definitely a plus. You still have to go up to the counter to order, buthere are now food runners that bring over your order instead having to hear your number called and going to a window to grab it. Was trying to find a late night dinner around 9:00pm or 9:30pm and most of the other pizzerias in the area were closed (that weren't fast food chains). It was our first times there and it wasn't very clear if we just seated ourselves or waited to be seated so we approached a server who was standing behind the bar across the room from the entrance doors and asked. They gave us some menus and told us to sit where ever, but would need to come back up to the bar to order. After looking at the menu we decided to get a large basket of Onion Rings and a Large Mama's Original Beef Pizza, because it said it was an Omaha classic and an original pizza from when Mama's first opened. The Onion Rings had a simple and light batter. It didn't appear to have any bread crumbs added prior to the deep frying, which usually adds more crunch to onion rings. (Not saying all onion rings need bread crumbs added, just a note of what to expect.) The onion rings we received were inconsistently salted with plain table salt; some areas had plenty of salt mounted on (almost all white, could barely see the onion ring coating underneath) and others had non. It was very difficult to brush off the salt as it was finely ground and stuck to the shell (any attempt to really try to brush or tap off lead to the breading). The batter created a very thin coating which made it seem almost brittle and fragile when bitten into. The Mama's Original Beef Pizza is definitely better than a grocery store bought, home baked pizza, but wasn't the best (or worst) pizza I've had. It consisted of (of course pizza basics) the crust/doe, their pizza sauce, cheese, and ground beef cut into squares not triangle slices. If I were to describe what it tasted like to me, I would say it tastes exactly what you would imagine if you made it with those simple ingredients at home. There weren't any special seasonings or method, just cooked ground beef and a layer of cheese melted over the top. Not bad, not great, but the large pizza was enough to fill my friend and I up with about four slices packed to go. Overall, the place seemed to be well equipped for large groups and is a very laid back environment where you can converse with the friends and family you are there with. The few TV's there were not very large or distracting. It sort of reminded me of a place you or a coach would take their players' baseball/basketball team out after their game (but do people even do that anymore?). Although I didn't order/receive greatest items, I do want to try some other things on their menu before making my final decision on if I would/wouldn't ever visit them again. read more
