My husband and I took an overnight cruise to Cabo San Lucas, so we were finally able to have an authentic Mexican breakfast. A friend joined us, and we took a quick Uber to the restaurant. I ordered huevos rancheros, my husband ordered machaca with eggs (gringo style), and our friend ordered chilaquiles flank steak with both the red ranchero sauce and the green sauce. The presentation was lovely. The homemade flour tortillas were delicious, and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. They offer five different salsas, which were really good. We all enjoyed our breakfast. We loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the restaurant and would definitely go back! This restaurant was conveniently located in downtown Cabo San Lucas. It's fairly spacious inside and there was plenty of seating when I arrived. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes and they were just ok - not the best or worst I've ever had. The chips were a little too soggy, b it the flavor was generally good. My experience with Mama's royal cafe was okay, it's a basic breakfast/brunch restaurant. They offered a few different breakfast items but nothing that caught my attention. I ordered the omelette and I like that it came with fresh fruit and a variety of condiments. I had a bottle of water that I already had with me from walking around the city, but the staff doesn't allow you to drink your own water in the restaurant, which I thought it was weird. The inside of the restaurant was clean, which was good. The wait staff wasn't very friendly in my experience, and the restaurant was completely empty so I know it's not from them being busy. read more

Went to mamas royal cafe after searching for a good brunch spot. Over 4 stars and 200 reviews this was a must for us. The menu was robust and we were excited to have some traditional Mexican faire. Sadly the experience was less than good. The food was bland. I ordered huevos rancheros with lobster. I do not like raw onions but can make do with some cooked onions usually found in a dish like this. But this sauce was all onions! Easily over half an onion on my plate. I asked for no green onions but they also were added in abundance. The husband had chilaquiles verde. This was good but we have definitely had better. We also had a frittata (Spanish tortilla) to go for another breakfast. This also failed to wow. The best part of our dishes were the salsas. They were very good.
