Environment was nice up until the flies swarm your food and staff does nothing about it! Happened on 2026-04-12 at 6pm, lovely evening, the restaurant has a nice environment and food came out quick. But that was the end of the positive things as a swarm of flies quickly came to eat the food. Trying to swat them away helped a bit but there was way too many of them. I eventually flagged a waiter down, and he shrugged at the flies. A minute later some candle flame thing came out saying that it will help with the flies but already that was too late as flies were all over the food and I lost my appetite at that point. It was disgusting. I just got up and left. Went to cashier to pay my bill. The cashier also shrugged at my fly incident, and I asked how much it was going to be. Full price. No consideration about bad operating environment and since they knew about the fly issue they didnt setup before food was served to control it better. Even after bringing it up again in detail, she shrugged again. No sorry or anything, just a brush off. Then to make it even worse she asked if I wanted to tip the service. I was in there for a few minutes, staff didnt help quickly or even pre-empt the fly issue, and I'm being asked to pay full price. Sorry but no thanks. How did this place get on the Michelin list? This place sits right in downtown but once you walk inside boom beautiful courtyard, lights hanging everywhere, and a mariachi band that doesn't just play music... they attack your table with joy. I'm talking the kind of band that makes you want to order another margarita just so you can clap along like you suddenly grew up in Guadalajara. And the food? Real-deal Mexican classics mole, enchiladas, chile rellenos big flavors coming out of a kitchen that knows what it's doing. Some restaurants give you chips like they're doing you a favor three chips and a little salsa like it's a museum sample. Not here. These chips show up ready to party. I brought a group of 17 yesterday. at least half of us ordered pozole which was definitely missing some spice compared to previous visits. some people had the mole enchiladas which were ok. The food was spicy, but not "Mexican hot" like you'd find in Mexico City. Flavorful, but not overbearing. However, if Taco Bell mild sauce is too hot for you, it's going to burn. We ordered two appetizers each and that was enough for both of us to be stuffed. The food was good, but as I am of Asian descent, I cannot speak to its authenticity. One thing is certain, that how much you search to find the best restaurants, the traditional search engines always miss out. The only reason I think that is the case is because they don't pay to have their establishments featured. I asked the reception desk for a suggestion, and this is what they came up with ....And let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience. As you walk in, there is a huge space decorated with immense Mexican talent and artistry. There's well balanced bright lighting, a trio of serenading mariachi musicians walking around and asking for business. I started with the, Ensalada Los Tres Gallos (mixed baby greens, jicama, avocado and red onion, plus pineapple, peeled orange slices and ripe cherry tomatoes, with a pinch of chile tajin and a heaping of panela cheese, all tossed together in a piquant dressing of olive oil, cilantro and chile Serrano). All the vegetables and lettuce were crisp, fresh and full of flavor and taste bud impact. Next, the chicken (shredded) enchiladas, in a verde sauce. I'm generally not fond of shredded meat, but was willing to give this one a try. When it came to my table, it blew me away. The tortillas that wrap the shredded chicken were soft, fresh and really unique. I don't think I've had anything like this in Los Angeles. Chicken was tender and slightly chunky, so it hit the spot. I had to end with the Churros. Came with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. I couldn't finish all of it, but it was superb. Problem here, like a lot of other places, is when they do the conversion into dollars. They do not care for the customers. And they push, for you to pay in US dollars. Everywhere, they set their own rate, in their favor, ignore the current bank conversion. And in most places, there is a 16% food tax that is included in the price. And when they suggest a tip, they don't subtract the tax. Because it's nuts, you don't tip on the tax amount. It goes to the government. So be careful. Always pay in the local currency, it really pisses them off, but that's the way you have to do it. Anyway, food wise, it was fantastic. Easily, one of the best restaurants that I've been to, during this trip, to Cabo San Lucas. read more

I got the carnitas. A hefty portion and fried nicely. It was great with the queso. The hubby thought his enchiladas were okay. My marg was on the lighter and sweeter side than I prefer, but it was fine for sipping. Service was good. Took a while to order since the resto is a pretty good size and there might have been only one server or so on the floor? But we never felt like anything took too long. I had read about Los Tres Gallos before our trip to Los Cabos and I'm glad we made a point to go out of our way to try it! The ambiance is great -- the whole restaurant is a beautiful outdoor patio with plenty of brick, heaters and a cozy vibe. We ordered a house margarita, the table-side caesar salad, sopesitos and the tuetanos al carbon. For starters, the margarita and chips and salsa were delicious. There were two types of salsa -- a red salsa with orange juice in it that was definitely unique but not my favorite, and a salsa verde that was incredible. I could have had three more bowls of the green salsa! It was a fun experience to have the caesar salad made at the table, but the salad itself wasn't anything to write home about it. It was good! But maybe not worth the $20 USD, especially considering it was pretty small. The sopesitas -- fluffy corn pancakes -- were excellent. I had never had anything like this, and we regretted not getting a second order. We got a split order, one chicken and one pork. Highly recommend as an appetizer. The tuetanos al carbon was also very good. The dish was served on a very hot skillet and was incredibly fresh. The marrow slid right off the bone into the handmade tortillas that came on the side. And the small steak toastadita that came on the side -- basically a beef vampiro taco -- was maybe the best part of the whole meal. What wonderful place, people, location, and experience. This place was recommended to me by a friend, so we made reservations. Plus, it was a short walk from our hotel. The inside is beautifully decorated with all the bright colors you would expect in Mexico. I can't remember our servers name, but he was fast and funny. I suggest getting the spicy margarita with a dash of habanero. Yum! I ordered the chicken fajitas. Delicious. Everyone was very happy with their meals. According to my friend that made us a reservation here, This is a restaurant on the Michelin guide! The portion sizes are Huge here, definitely know what you can finish because most likely you're stopping by and unable to take leftovers. You may even be best to get several appetizers to try a little of everything if you are in a small group. If you are in a larger group you may want to consider sharing an entree with several appetizers. My husband and I split the mole enchiladas, and we were chips and salsa to even out as we weren't super hungry. Recommended to come here when the sun has set, as the restaurant is outdoors ambiance. However it was within reason that we ate here for early lunch in the winter. If you're coming from a cruise ship like we were, it was a decent walk and I wouldn't recommend walking to here in the summer from the marina. Late night at Cabo and starving Found this place...nice open area concept, beautiful decorated. Great menu choices and drinks as well. I'm a fan of Cochita Pibil a dish from Yucatán. So I order that... I was disappointed when I got my plate because, it just didn't look like it supposed to nor tasted like it. The prices are way too high. We were a party of 12. Four of the people in our group ordered chicken quesadillas. All of the quesadillas were plain cheese quesadillas. Just not worth it at all. So this location is completely different than from the Cabo San Lucas location which recently got a Michelin Nod.." it's like day and night staff and food! That bottom floor is completely hot with the fan blinds kind of uncomfortable to enjoy your food. If you're gonna die in the patio upstairs make sure it's in the evening which the fans in the night air will give you some comfort.. we ordered a table side, Caesar and-we got Caesar brought over at from waiter was that making a table side (Caesar) for another table and basically came over with just three leaves of lettuce, shave parm , and Caesar dressing, which is homemade not really enough to feed two people ( 3 of us dining) but oh well , it was decent. not really nothing to " BRAG"- about.." .the salad which I ordered. I nearly waited 20 minutes before by this time the first salad had been consumed... and they're were going bring out our main dish the fish and shrimp dish. I told the waiter I wanted my salad before my main dish ...I didn't want to eat everything together at once. So the waiting time between both my food and my second drink was close to 45 minutes to an hour.The Manager never stopped by to apologize or to check on us, nor did they offer an apology for the waiting time .They didn't offer to take anything Off the Bill.."( for the " Crap -Experience " and time we had to wait for in between dishes and drinks!
