Lavender Vodka?! Say what?! Simply decorated just enough to feel that ambiance of a warm distillery. We sat at the bar and dabbled in the Lavender spritz and a Manhattan. Both were excellent and left us wanting more. The bartender wasn't super chatty even when we tried to make conversation. Maybe he was just having an off day, but nonetheless he made great cocktails. We stan Mammoth Distilling. We stopped here not once, but twice while visiting Northern Michigan. Granted the options in a town the size of Bellaire are slim, but this was a solid one. Our first day we had a nice lady serving / mixing for us. She helped chat through some options and made us some killer drinks. Big fans of the Picante and the Central Lake Sour. The space is cute and clean and there is plenty of seating. We look forward to hopefully visiting again in the future! read more

This past visit I only ran in to grab a bottle of Whiskey! We are renovating our bar at home and I want to have Michigan made booze to have as offerings, as well as show pieces, so when we were in Bellaire I knew I had to stop into Mammoth and grab a bottle. I asked the bartender which Whiskey she would recommend, and she was more than happy to give me recommendations and a bit of information about all of them to help me make my decision. A very quick exchange, but super friendly, helpful and pleasant! I will say that we had visited in June of 2020 and had a few drinks while we were there.. they were all delicious and very impressive. Unique and truly exciting to try. This is why I knew I had to have a bottle of Mammoth for our bar! If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in to Mammoth for a delicious drink in a chill atmosphere. You wont be disappointed! read more

The service here was exceptional. I cannot wait to go back to the Bellaire area, to go back to this little gem. The bartender had so much knowledge of the drinks, the different liquors, all of the pours that we requested. We were so satisfied with the flavor of the bourbon, that we bought a bottle. Great additional to this cute little town! And conveniently right down the block from the brewery there! I will definitely be recommending this stop be made by my friends and family that frequent the area! read more

I can see how this place can keep you there for a while! They have suuuuper comfy chairs, they get you all liquored up and then you don't want to move! Definitely worth a stop, I had some kind of blueberry gin thing that was very good. read more

I'm glad to see that Mammoth is doing well enough to expand to downtown Bellaire! This tasting room is very close to Short's. We did a flight with the strawberry rhubarb vodka, American whiskey, rye whiskey, and coffee liqueur. We also each got a craft cocktail- I had the strawberry rhubarb vodka/lemonade one and it was stellar. If you think you don't like coffee liqueur but have only tried Kahlua, Mammoth's is worth a sip - it's not so syrupy or sweet and has a true coffee flavor. We bought a bottle to take home (so they didn't charge us for our tasting flight- so nice). The rye whiskey is smoother and maybe a little milder than other ryes I've tried, which is a plus for me. Their eclectic music selection was on point for a chill sipping afternoon. Hand sanitizer is available on every table, masks are required when you're not seated. As a plus, the bathrooms are a single-person set up so they're both unisex, which I believe is the best way to go right now! read more

We stopped in a few of the distilleries in this area, and this was by far my favorite. The service was excellent, and their vodka and rum were my favorite in the area. The bartender has a lot of knowledge about the process, and was happy to do tastings of everything we requested. I also found the mixed drinks to be very reasonably priced. First time officially getting any alcoholic beverages here, and must say the drinks I got with my parents were definitely good in their own ways. The spicy beverages weren't too spicy. And the sweet beverages were just the right amount of sweet. I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

We headed downtown one night while we were staying at Shanty Creek. The bartenders were awesome, the drinks well priced, and the atmosphere was unique for such a small town. I highly recommend bourbon on the rocks. We sampled their whiskey, bourbon, and rye... all were on point. We love the Bellaire tasting room. Super comfy & chic! Great piped in or live music. Don't need the semi newly installed big screen TV. Rob, Liz & Conner are our favorite mixologists behind the bar! Very friendly & knowledgeable about their Mammoth distilled products, the area, golf courses, happenings around and in town. The cocktails are imaginative & deeelicious. Nice you can bring food in from local eateries! Next time, we are also going to bring 5 Crowns, Phase 10 or Uno!! Bathrooms are always clean. Good spacing between tables. read more

Mammoth is a Northern Michigan craft distiller offering a full line of small-batch spirits (Rye, Whiskey, Bourbon, Gin, Vodka, Cherry Bounce and a variety of other special releases). We use local ingredients whenever possible in our spirits and our drinks and are actively growing our own heritage grains. Our tasting rooms (5 in MI!) are open year round and feature craft cocktails in a relaxed cocktail lounge environment; you can also purchase bottles from these locations.
