This is my 3rd Miami Spice dinner and it's arguably the best "bang for your buck" deal of them all. The reason...appetizer, primi, secondi and dessert. And the menu had so many options I was overwhelmed at first which never happens because most of the menus leave a lot to be desired, especially this year. I mean you basically get TWO entrees for one. The primi was mostly a pasta dish and the secondi, a protein with a side of carbs. You can't beat that deal or show me a better one this year. But before we get into it, the drinks were 10/10 across the board. The volcán and blackberry thyme. Both refreshing but also packing a punch especially the Volcán. These are great choices if you like mezcal and tequila. We sat at the bar and the bartender was most attentive, helpful and welcoming. Now I'm not gonna get into details about each dish but take my word for it, not one miss, all basket of you get me. Antipasti: highly recommended by the bartender and she did right by us...the red shrimp, burrata and mango salad and beef tartare. One was mouth watering and the other, scrumptious but both a must. Primi: opted for the rigatoni with crispy bacon, tomato sauce and pecorino, so so delicious. And also the angel hair pasta with shrimp and pistachios. That one was another incredibly delicious dish and like nothing I've tasted before. Secondi: pan seared halibut with lemon sauce and carrots. This one you can't miss. That halibut was melting in my mouth and lemon sauce was so good I wanted to drown in it. Then the perfectly medium cooked NY strip with roasted potato swimming in that rosemary jus that made me want to lick the plate, OMG. Dolci: Tiramisu was ok but the affogato with vanilla ice cream and warm strawberries had me in a chokehold. Simple on paper but surprisingly delectable in your mouth. I can't say enough good things about this meal. It has to be one of the best meals I've had in my life in this city. This one will definitely bring me back off season. As a tip, highly recommend a reservation because it gets busy in there. Ambiance is also nice and dim lit for those looking for a date spot. It is a little on the loud side but still feels intimate for some reason. Music choice was also a nice touch if you enjoy R&B music. read more

Mamo was a mixed bag. There were menu items that really hit the mark and others that fell a little short, but overall, the quality and unique flavors made this a good restaurant to try. The good: most of the appetizers we ordered to share as a table were excellent - the fried artichokes, burrata, and eggplant. From the mains, the veal cutlet was delicious. Cacio and Pepe was good too. The needs improvement: the rigatoni was ok, not the best I've had. The fish I ordered was really disappointing. If I had it to do over, I would have gone with the veal cutlet as my main. The dessert (Millefoglie - a raspberry and thousand leaves pastry) was ok. The berries were great, but the pastry was too dry. Service was too chaotic for our large table, it should have been a lot more organized, and my chair kept getting bumped throughout the night by the servers. Our table should have been given more room to avoid that. read more

An elegant, sophisticated menu in a trendy Brickell environment, a client took us here for a business lunch. We were not disappointed with any aspect of the meal, which was, for its tier, very well priced. The service was what I prefer in good restaurants, friendly but not fawning, attentive without being "on you" every second, knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely return, and this time I look forward to trying the cocktails and sampling one of the nice looking bottles of wine. read more

This place was honestly such a great surprise. I'll keep it short because everything, without exception, was just really good. The space is intimate and elegant, perfect for a date night. It has that cozy vibe but still feels a bit upscale without being too much. The food was delicious, and there are plenty of options on the menu. I'm not even going to mention specific dishes because everything we tried was great, so you really can't go wrong ordering whatever catches your eye. They also have a weekday fixed menu that's excellent and honestly hard to beat for the price. Drinks were good overall, and the wine list is solid, though a bit on the expensive side. Service was outstanding and really elevated the whole experience. Overall, it's a fantastic spot and definitely worth checking out. Wow! This place is a hidden gem and I can't believe it took me so long to check it out! I visited on a Thursday for lunch time with friends. It also happened to be Miami Spice which was a plus! I ordered the artichoke appetizer, rigatoni alla bolognese, and the tiramisu. Everything I had was great! I think my favorite was the dessert and the rigatoni! The staff was super friendly and came to clean up and give us new cutlery and dishes after each course. The inside is very cozy with plenty of seating. Nice little Italian hidden gem on Brickell Ave. Had dinner at Mamo on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed but it still had a nice romantic ambiance. The food was delicious. I came in the evening with my friend and we pretty much had to shout to hear each other. It was also really dark, there was a singular tiny candle on the table which did nothing. I had to pull out the flash on my phone to see the menu.. The dishes themselves were good and there was a more unique of a choice than your typical restaurant. My fiancé and I had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Mamo in Brickell! This chic Italian spot (the Miami outpost of the famous SoHo original) has a stylish, inviting ambiance perfect for a date night with its warm lighting and elegant setup. I went for the NY Strip steak, beautifully cooked to perfection with a flavorful crust, garnished with rosemary and served with a rich sauce alongside tender potatoes. It was juicy, tender, and one of the highlights of the meal. My fiancé ordered the Cacio e Pepe, and she raved that it was hands down the best she's ever had creamy, perfectly peppery, and just spot-on authentic. We also shared the truffle fries, which were good but didn't quite top some of the other truffle fries we've tried elsewhere (still enjoyable, though!). I had an incredible experience at Mamo! From the atmosphere, service and food, everything was top notch. We had an 8pm reservation and ended up staying for 2+ hours and never felt rushed, the server was attentive the entire time! All of the food was delicious and the homemade pasta was incredible. Many options and you cannot beat the price! Gratuity was added on our bill for party of two at 20%. Pellegrino was $9 for a large bottle. For two with one glass of wine (would not order again) was just under $200. The changing of silverware each course reminded us of Michelin star service was a very nice and unexpected touch. However, the employees on their phones was a total turnoff. They were doing great with service but when courses did not come out, the three employees were all on their phones. Solid place to add to the frequent local rotation. If you are a local and live in Brickell or surrounding areas, this is a good go to place for Italian food, nice ambience, and steady menu. Catching up with friends or date night. I would say it's suitable for groups of 4 or less. The service is a little inconsistent, so there is room for improvement. I like the decor and ambience, and actually the smell was really good too :p. Whatever fragrance, it wasn't a food smell but I liked it. I came here on a rainy Saturday night, and it was still pleasantly packed. Once you arrive, there's a bar that you can get wine, or cocktails while waiting for the rest of your group to arrive. They also have a gummy station at the end of the bar so definitely check that spot out. After you receive your drink, someone will walk you to your table. We had a party of four and ordered a few appetizers and main dishes, and then we shared the tiramisu. For the appetizers, we had an artichoke dish and the cauliflower. They were both pretty good, I'd say 4/5 stars. Two of my friends ordered the Cacio de Pepe, and I snuck a bite, I'm glad I had my order, which was the angel hair pasta with shrimp. Definitely get this if you have a hard time deciding. I didn't try it a bite of the Branzino, it looked OK but my friend wasn't wowed or anything so didn't make me want to try it lol. I'm happy with the angel hair pasta, it's full of butter and flavor. Tiramisu for the table to share, was more than enough we still had half of the cup left. Overall, I would say that the atmosphere is pretty bustling, but calm at the same time. I like how the decor is muted so you can really focus on the people in front of you. Monday 12:30pm Another NY brand that I'm excited opened up in miami with a bigger space and more of a miami vibe but not losing the same feel of the one in SoHo . The decor is light ( not bright ) with a chic European feel and decor. We were one of the first diners ( they open at 12pm ) along with apparently some famous futbol ( soccer in the U.S) per my colleague. Goes to show you what type of a restaurant it is . The service was amazing. Their business lunch pre fix is imo one of the best in town , servings are on the bigger side esp if you do the bolognese pasta which I still dream about . It's made with actual chunks of meat vs ground, he c is more hearty . Definitely best paired with a red bit with the warm weather , a light Pinot noir is perfect . Make sure to save some room for dessert as the pistachio millefoglie was divine . Due to the food quality and value , I came back two days later . This time around I had the branzino as my main , equally as delicious, paired with black rice and veggies . Both times I chose the seared tuna as starter to compensate for the not as light and savory entrees. Dinner is worth exploring on my next visit which I'm sure will not disappoint. read more

We were pleasantly surprised to learn they had a $60 price fix menu Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30 - 7:30 over the weekend. Since we were dining on a Sunday, we decided to give it a try. For my Antipasti, I had the Gamberi rossi (shrimp), burrata, mango and my bf had the Tonno scottato (tuna), arance, caperri, basil. Mine was light, fresh, and a great start to the meal. My bf enjoyed his as well. For the Primi course, we both tried the La nostra Caico & Pepe. This was delicious. Next for the Secondi course, we both had the Bistecca di manzo, patate arrosto, salsa al pepe (NY strip), which was tasty but hard to finish since we were so full already. Dessert for both of us was the Affogato alle fragole (ice cream with strawberries) which was a great way to end the meal. We then got an exciting surprise with our check, a jar full of gummy candies to snack on! The courses were a little spaced out, but overall the service was good. The food is so thoughtfully prepared, and the restaurant tries to stick to authentic Italian recipes that aren't dumbed down for Miami diners. This is serious food for connoisseurs. Went here for the first time and we were really impressed. They have a $60, 4 course dinner that has great choices. They start you off with bread and caponata, which disappeared in seconds. Then came the appetizers, carciofi and tuna, which were both excellent. Next course were the pastas, the Caccio Pepe was a home run as was the shrimp pasta. Mains were not huge, but the sirloin and halibut were prepared perfectly, and we were pretty full at that point anyway. Finished with a huge portion of their amazing Tiramasu. Stuffed! My family and I came to celebrate mothers day and were met with a warm and bustling atmosphere! The place itself is nice but definitely not at a luxury level. Service was okay, our waiter specifically was very kind, understanding and knowledgeable about the menu. Now the most important part for me is how the food actually was. The bread was hard and difficult to eat. My party ordered the eggplant parmesan, pulpo, truffle fries, truffle ravioli, vodka pasta, "'Paccheri' alla genovese'" and fish. The photos attached have more specific details. Unfortunately, the eggplant was not prepared well so that entire dish was so very bitter. The fries were great and the squid was of good quality but it's presentation was not so nice. The truffle ravioli was nice, but you can only taste truffle which may been its saving grace or fault since it virtually just tasted like truffles. The vodka pasta was not very good at all and tasted only of vodka unfortunately. The Paccheri was very underwhelming regarding it's taste, and again, did not have an appetizing presentation. I will say the tiramisu was lovely and the best thing the restaurant served us. The reason I have to rate this two stars and not three is because of the price of all the mediocre food. We paid a total of $400 for 4 people. All in all, to me this is yet again another all hype brickell restaurant. read more

Exception from start to finish. I went with my friend to enjoy the Miami Spice lunch which is a cattle call amount of food! The crispy artichokes were great and the burrata was equally impressive. Nothing is rushed. For the main plate the strip steak was outstanding according to her and I had to complaints with my pasta. Dessert was off the measurable scale with one of the best tiramisu's that I've had since who knows when. They do offer valet parking just south of the restaurant (call to get details) or you can park in the street in back of the restaurant or Brickell City Centre for a brisk walk. Service was knowledgeable and not pretentious. I really felt the place was very well decorated. Anyone giving this less than four stars might want to reconsider as I can't see how it would ever go down to that level. read more

My colleagues and I came here for dinner on a weekday night, and I had the Capelli d'angelo, gamberi e pistacchi (angel hair, shrimp, pistachios) ($38). It was fantastic, and the flavors were mild but super delicious. By the time I was finishing the pasta, the sauce and pasta had congealed together so I had to use a knife to cut the pasta into bite-sized pieces, but the taste was still very good. My friend and I dined at Mamo last night and it was my first time. The reviews are great and I was able to get a last minute dinner reservation on a Friday night at the last minute, so I thought I'd lucked out. The restaurant is situated in small plaza and doesn't feel as fancy as the prices indicate. I think maybe they should draw the curtains or something to make the atmosphere feel more plush and intimate. To start we each ordered a cocktail, I had the Il Giardiniere, it wasn't my favorite cocktail ever but it was tasty. For our appetizers, we ordered the Insalata di polpo e ceci and the Come a Capri. The tomatoes and the tapenade they serve with the bread stole the show, the rest was pretty average. For our entrees, we had the Maltagliati verdi alla bolognese and the Vitello alla milanese con insalata. Neither was anything to write home about. For dessert we ordered the Tiramisù and the My Son's Sundae. I consider myself to be a tiramisu expert since it's my favorite and I've had more than I'd like to admit, this was the worst tiramisu I've ever tried. The sundae was by far the best dish we had. The crumble they add is delicious. Overall though, the experience was average at best and I don't see myself going back. If you visit, be sure to keep in mind that they add 20% gratuity for unimpressive service. Ours was a very expensive but just okay meal. read more

I had a wonderful dinner at mamo because of the ambiance, food, and service. It is dimly lit with a cool but classy vibe- definitely giving upscale New York Italian restaurant. We were early for the reservation and they sat us right away. The tables are a little close to each other but fine. Our server was very nice and knew everything about the menu. For example, I asked if there was dairy in one of the pastas and he said the pasta did but they could sub it with another pasta. They also had a sommelier to help choose a glass of wine which is always helpful and a nice touch to a dining experience. Furthermore, they give free bread, eggplant dip, and salami to start. I don't know what kind of salami they serve but I am obsessed. I could have just had the bread and dips for the meal and been happy. Nonetheless, our food came and we were wowed by the beef tar tar. The best I've had in Miami. The octopus salad was also very tasty and fresh but prefer grilled octopus (personal preference). The pasta is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars because it was not good. The tomato sauce was sweet and the pasta was too al dente where it was a task to chew. I would still happily return to Mamo but just not order a pasta. Or maybe try a different one. Unfortunately when I went, the AC was broken and it was pretty hot but we still enjoyed our time there.
