I feel like I need to share my experience here so others can be cautious. Like many other reviewers on Yelp and Google, I was also lured in by the $29 special fee. Upon visiting, Dr. Manago and his wife are super nice and super friendly! But the whole consultation just felt off. During the examination, like many other reviewers, I was told one leg was longer than the other (or shorter than the other), which I thought was strange... I was also told that I have inflamed disc in my lower back, which I thought was also strange... without any x-rays, mri, or technology used I was told I have inflamed discs... I didn't feel any radiating pain... he mentioned to fix this he uses infrared heat and slowly moves the spine (Which will take many visits). Also strange. Then at the end of the examination they took xrays and would need to schedule me in to discuss them and a treatment plan. They rushed me and said we need to get this fixed soon and that I did not want to leave this pain lingering. Also another red flag. Reviewers have mentioned they were charged $150 for the follow up visit to discuss the xrays. I asked them and they said it was included in the $29. Seems like bait and switch. Needless to say I never came in for that follow up, everything just felt fishy, and I sought out a second opinion. read more

I visited this chiropractic clinic after throwing out my back and being in extreme pain. The initial visit was advertised at $29, and I was hopeful they could help. However, during that first visit, nothing was done except for taking X-rays and discussing pricing. I was told that each visit would cost over $100 unless I signed up for an "Apex" rate, which would bring it down to $60 per visit. He then scheduled a follow-up appointment for the next day, which I was told was included in the initial $29 fee. At the follow-up, he examined my leg and said one was shorter than the other and that he needed to take a leg X-ray to confirm. He then discussed his findings regarding my spine and neck. I assumed he would finally treat my back pain (the reason I came in) but instead, he simply applied ice for 10 minutes and then used a pen-like gadget on my neck. I didn't feel anything from it and honestly don't think it did anything. He then sent me home again and told me to come back the next day. For this visit, I was charged $140 for essentially nothing. I was still in constant pain and could barely move or sleep. On day three, I returned, and he brought me into his office to present a treatment plan costing nearly $4,000. I was shocked and felt pressured to sign the contract all while still in severe pain. Only after I signed did he finally treat my back pain. The "treatment" consisted of 8.5 minutes on a vibrating bed, the same pen-like gadget on my neck again (which I still believe had no effect), and finally, one rib adjustment which, thankfully, provided some pain relief. It was incredibly frustrating to suffer for three days when it was clear he knew what was wrong from the beginning. I was very disappointed in the lack of timely care and the emphasis on sales over actual treatment. Thankfully, I was able to cancel the contract and only paid for what I received. For peace of mind, I visited another chiropractor for a second opinion. After reviewing the same X-rays, the second chiropractor assured me that they looked normal. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before committing to any expensive treatment plans. My wife was lured in by a $29 "initial fee" offer that turned out to be completely misleading. Once in the door, she was subjected to several uncomfortable and unnecessary X-rays. The doctor initially claimed she had one leg shorter than the other and a spinal condition that would require a long, expensive treatment plan. After a few visits and several hundred dollars out of pocket, she was pressured to sign a long-term contract worth thousands. Thankfully, we decided to get a second opinion, and I'm glad we did. Another chiropractor reviewed the same X-rays and evaluated her situation and determined that none of the conditions she was told she had were real. All she needed was one simple adjustment, with no need for excessive imaging or drawn-out treatment plans. This office seems far more interested in locking you into high-cost care than actually helping patients. My experience is the same as the other 1 star reviews. Unfortunately, i found him from an Instagram feed for a $29 evaluation so thought no harm here. Well 2nd visit "we need another xray" today as you likely have 1 leg longer. Which was a $150 cost that was a complete waste of time and $$. He then states i He can't read this xray in front of me today . You will need to come back tomorrow (for another $100 bucks) so we can read it. Oh and you should bring your spouse with you so we can explain what you need! Excuse me???? You want me to bring my husband LMAO! What Dr ever says this?!? EVER especially a chiropractor. And of course he starts telling me about the "subscription" I will need to pay so "i can save $$" but I WILL fix you! I've had the great pleasure of seeing Dr. Manago since 1984 and I could not feel this amazing without him. He is a miracle worker! I never even need a single Advil anymore! I could give you so many examples of how he's helped me over the years, my family, and so many of my friends, but it'd take pages and pages. My uncle and aunt had come out from Italy to visit us many years ago and they saw how well my mother and I were doing. My uncle said mom walked like a teenager! She really did! I shared other testimonies with him of patients I've met there who's lives have also significantly improved due to Dr. Manago's treatment. Many of them with neuropathy, some going for back surgeries, some given up on sports all together, etc. only to be back to living and loving their lives and moving pain-free again. I purchased a Groupon from this Doctor. I called to make an appointment and I was told by the receptionist that this was the first time they had used group on and she wasn't sure yet how it worked. I went into the office today to try again to make an appointment and the only person in the office was the doctor. There were two women in the waiting room. After finding out that he was alone I said I would come back. He then asked what I wanted. He became very agitated and rude. I have never had a professional talk to me like he did. Just a warning. This guy is a fast buck boy. He asked that my wife bring me in to understand why I was skeptical about Chiropractors. We came in when his offices were closed and he did the hard sell pitch for a plan that was $3400.00 for his services. When he asked why I was skeptical, I shared that there are good Chiropractors and those that should have the title of Qwackapractor. He stated that he wasn't a "POP and PRAY" Chiropractor. That should make the Chiropractic Board he belongs to be alarmed. I've seen the good reviews posted for this office but must share the results were poor at best. He was slick and polished at Qwacking us out of $3400+. See the below from another patient that was posted----sounds familiar. I came to Dr. Manago after a severe car accident in which I was T-boned. Immediately following the incident I had chronic lower back pain. I was referred from a friend and went to his office. Initially my experience was positive. His assistant assessed me and he was friendly and welcoming. Everything seemed to be decent but he continued to refer to a device in which they could tell exactly how badly my back was hurt. I, too, asked what it was and he quickly changed the subject. This was my first clue that something was off. I went in for my second visit and met Dr. Manago. He was also very friendly and welcoming. He explained that he did not do physical adjustments but used a device that could detect pulses from my injury telling him exactly where and how injured I was. After this he would use "6 ounces of pressure" that would slowly push my back into alignment. It all sounded ok until he used the device. It was literally a piece of plastic that he poured baby powder onto. He then places this piece of plastic above my back and rubs his index finger across. The amount of times it "squeeled" equaled the extent of my injury. I was out of there. He later called me spending a great deal of energy pressuring me to come back. Manago Chiropractic changed my life!! In 2010 when I was 14 years old, I had scoliosis surgery. Though the surgery fixed my scoliosis, it created a lot of chronic pain throughout my back and neck. I first sought treatment from Dr. Manago when I was in high school. He completely corrected my back issues but I, being a teenager, didn't keep up with the treatment plan and here I am now 10 years later and my back issues flared up again, bad. The reason i cannot give a true rating based off experience, is due to the fact i was only able to attend 4 sessions with Dr. Manago. I wrote this rating purely based off of what i saw and experienced from day one to now. From the moment i walked in with no knowledge of what to expect, i mostly assumed i was gunna come in, have him pop me around, and simply pay and leave. I then later learned that he did not practice this style of chiropractic adjustment while he was also trained in it, he used thermal imaging to detect the kinetic heat given off of injured nerves and discs in the spine. While this was not my original treatment intention I continued as i could not at least try it out before judging that a different way of doing things isnt always the better path. His wife was very professional. Not only did she show extensions of her knowledge in the nerves and endochronic/nervous systems, she helped Dr. Manago better assess what i needed for me. I enjoyed being taught like a student, it helped me understand what the 5 w's of my issues were. What caused them What cures them Why they happen What could happen What i need Same day, although i was not originally intended to, i took xrays. (One part i felt maybe could have been incorporated better, was that i wasn't really asked if i wanted to move forward this way, i did often times feel shuffled, as if i had already agreed to certain things.) Post xray the next visit i started my first treatment. Although i was a bit skeptical about how i could start treatment, without yet seeing or understanding the issue of my condition because my xrays had not been fully analyzed, i have to assume that just because you dont see a bone broken inside someone doesnt mean it is not broken. Dr Manago himself was very informative, consistently asking if i was confused or had any questions, which he would gladly awnser and delve into to help you understand. I did not get to go over my xrays untill my 4th visit. Although because i have to pay out of pocket we could not reach a financial agreement therefore we could not continue more visits. I did however like that he would make time on his off days to come in to see his patients. He was very professional and i was always quickly seen by him the moment i stepped in. I now have a basic understanding of his practice, and although i was unable to continue treatment myself, i would commend him on his ability to converse with patients who did not or had misinterpreted ideas of what chiropractic care was and or could be. He was also help identify a birth defect in my spine i had not known about. Nor the prior chiropractor i had seen years ago. Apon negotiations for financial options. I was slightly offput by the aggressive push for outside funding. Particularly asking if i had friends that could spot me. I felt that his payment options/ credit plans, and other forms of care plans were a good idea, although sometimes i did feel i was being guided to one plan. But suspiciousness is a fragment of the mind and should not bias a reveiw. Although i could not afford his care, i can understand why his care can be more expensive then others. He works in the orange county, where cost of living is naturally high. And he is a speacilist, not a basic chiropractic doctor. He practices thermal light force adjustment, which is a higher grade form of chiropractic care, based off of my own research into the subject that not alot of doctors are certified to practice anymore throughout the U.S. If i had to summarize my experience in a sentence, i would say - professional service is half the battle, but the application and distribution of knowledge to the buyer is most important; and i found all of those things at Dr. Manago's office. I am heartened that i could not continue my care, and maybe later in life when my military service ends and i have better financial standpoint i hope to return and see about correcting my issues. Been a patient here for many years. Started coming when I suddenly had lower back pain. I had been going to a back cracker chiro who would provide temporary relief and yet my back always came back to being painful. Here is what I found with Dr. Manago. He takes measurements of coccyx and atlas bones. This is the last bone in your spine and the bone at the top of your spine in your neck. The measurements are assigned a number. The goal is to get close to zero. I started at high 90s for both numbers. This number represents the amount of subluxation in your spine. After a low pressure adjustment my back was measured and over the next six months my numbers reduced close to zero. As the number reduced so did my back pain. As the pain reduced and the number reduced I was able to have adjustments less frequently. I have now been pain free for 5 years and I go every 6 months. The low pressure adjustment is done with a device that puts gentle pressure on the coccyx and atlas bones. Then Dr. Manago reads the amount of inflammation radiating from your spine. Is it cheap-no Is it effective-definitely yes Finally, Dr. Manago wants to partner with you in your health. If you come here ready to learn and to be dedicated to your therapy this is the place for you. My wife and daughter come here and they both have excellent back health just like me. read more

It is frustrating when you are looking for medical assistance or wellness care and what you find a group of people like Manago Chiropractor that are mainly oriented to making money out of each patient's need. Something was not smelling good on the first visits I had at this location. Dr Manago and his coleague make you come 3/4 times (1hr each) before telling you the full diagnostic. Day one x-rays and a whole evaluation and what they call "education". Second day, quick adjustment and the story that you have multiple conditions and that you need to do treatment right away, Third day, another quick adjustment (they don't show you the x-rays yet nor any kind of estimate for copay, etc) even though I requested it, and forth day like a suspense movie they ask you to bring your spouse or significant other they tell you so she/he can understand your condition and commitment, but It is to put you on the spot and make you sign and contract up front for multiple sessions for several thousand up front. Finally they show you the x-rays. They do not like to work with insurance. Actually I had coverage and they didn't claim my visits ( I found out later) they just took cash. Besides it has been the most expensive "copay" I have ever paid. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor that provides light force adjustment in your network or another place. Save time, money and peace or mind. Alicia Chiropractor in Lake Forest is an excellent option and probably for half of the cost of what these people ask. I found another doctor that provides same care but that truly cares about patients and treat them fairly and with respect. The only thing I saw positive is the information they share about the condition you may have. They have pamphlets that are helpful. But again all these are marketing tools that at the end you are paying for with those expensive payments. That is what they do... selling! I started seeing Dr. Manago in January, knowing that my back was already messed up from a couple auto accidents in my 20's. I was referred by my father who has been seeing him for a couple of years now, with great success (he was unable to turn his head or lift his arm, now has full range of motion back). I'm 36 weeks pregnant and fully believe that Dr. Manago's care will be helpful in my desire for a natural birth. I was very skeptical and didn't want to go to a traditional "back cracker" and I can not deny the results. In the past if my husband would rub my back or shoulders I would cringe in pain, I had poor range of motion in my neck, and was a cronic neck-popper which is very dangerous. All of this has been cleared up with Dr. Manago's gentle, Light Force technique. Best of all, once you get through the initial "fixing" phase of treatment you only have to go in twice a year or as needed for maintenance. Traditional chriopractors will need you to go in once every week or two for life, which is way more expensive in the long run. Personally, I love the staff, they are so friendly and accommodating, and they are great about working with your schedule, and they know everyone by name. Chiropractic is not generally covered by insurance and Dr. Manago is usually able to offer better prices by paying directly when it is. My own example is that with our insurance co-pay cost would have been $50 per treatment, by paying up front Dr. Manago was able to offer a better rate for us. Yes, it's expensive but, it's an investment in your health. He is still running a business and has to keep the lights on! We planned ahead and were able to submit it to our FSA for reimburssment. read more

I had never been to a chiropractor before coming here but I do work with chiropractors in some capacity so I know a little about it. They use a different method than just cracking your back to achieve their results. Dr.Manago and his team are very kind and welcoming and really care about making sure their patients see results. So much so that they do before and after x-rays of your spine. I have seen drastic results in straightening my spine but also with being able to sleep. I read a few of the negative reviews, and frankly they seem goofy. Someone at the bottom mentioned a 1950's banning of the device, which is ridiculous. The PROOF is, that His methods WORKED although it took 2 years, but that the speed that your body heals at. I had a neck pain for over 10 years!
