Absolutely a miracle!! I've had neck and back problems for 15 years. I am 42 years old and I live in Texas. My neck and lower back pain has caused me to have issues in all aspects of my life. Dr. David Manago has improved my life by ridding me of the pain that had virtually brought my life to a stand still. I had been on permanent disability for 13 years and set for cervical spine surgery when my pastor's wife recommended that I see Dr. Manago. I had lost muscle in my left hand due to the nerve damage from the spinal compression. I was on daily narcotic pain killers and anti-seizure meds and had no use of my left arm beyond putting my arm on the top of my head (constantly) just to deal with the pain. After only 6 weeks of treatment with Dr. Manago I was off all my medications. It was only necessary for me to take Ibuprofen once or twice daily. I have now been pain free with only an occasional Ibuprofen when I really over due. I have been on regular maintenance for a couple of years and still can't believe how good I feel. I sent my grandson, who is an athlete to see him for issues with his hip at 16. He only needs periodic treatment now. I already posted this review once. It somehow was deleted!! My first appointment the dr had told me to get in a gown. I was thrown off guard because I didn't expect to get in a gown, so I asked what am I supposed to wear underneath? He responded your underwear, I'm not THAT kind of Dr. Then he laughed. He leaves so I can change and comes back to do the exam. He made comments and the way he acted made me feel really uncomfortable around him. Plus he acted like he was a teacher and I was a student, telling me all about my spine and what he does. Which is fine but then he makes me repeat the "lesson" back to him. He takes x rays and I schedule to come back for another appointment. I come in a couple days later and he refuses to go over my X-rays with me. He says he needs more time to go over them. He does the adjustment, which was very uncomfortable again. He had to adjust my lower back near my tailbone and he pulls my pants down himself to get to the area. This was extremely awkward.. he should have asked I do this myself.. anyways so I ask him what my treatment plan will look like and when I'll start feeling better. He beats around the bush and never answers the question. Says he needs to see me a few more times first and then we will go over x rays and a treatment plan. I tell him I'm not going to keep seeing him until I know, as he isn't covered under my insurance. He then starts acting really rude and cocky. Saying things like well you want to get better don't you, wouldn't you do anything to feel better. How important really is this to you. I leave and am told to schedule again. We would have to do one more adjustment before getting my xray results. I schedule and leave. I kept feeling really uneasy and not comfortable about both of our meetings so far and really dreading having to see him again. I cancelled my appointment and told them I wanted my x rays mailed to me and I would not be coming back. This guy just came off as unprofessional, money hungry, and kind of pervy to me. read more

Here is my story of receiving chiropractic care from Dr Manago for the past 2.5 years. I've never been seen by a chiropractor in my life up until I came to this office in Nov 2014. I've had several injuries(mostly sport related) in my early to mid 20s (I'm 30 now) but nothing major until I had a motorcycle accident in 2013. I hurt my lower back & neck,two days after my accident I was seen by a regular doctor who took a X-ray of my lower back and said nothing is broken and I'll be fine. After this accident my overall health started to go south, I had more frequent headaches my lower back pain was always there I started having digestive issues which followed by gaining weight and difficulty losing weight. I moved to OC from NorCal in 2014 and wanted to see a medical doctor to address my health issues but first I thought I should see a chiropractor since my back pain was bothering me a lot. I decided to finally see a chiropractor and Dr Manago was the closest to my new house, based on things I've seen online I was expecting him to crack my neck and back but my first couple of visits were far from that :) Dr Manago after examinations started educating me on how the nervous system work. I learned how my body won't be able to function at its best when my spinal cord is under pressure or the correct term I believe is subluxation. He suggested to take a X-ray since my condition wasn't all that great during examination.once I saw my X-ray I was shocked to see the amount of damage I've caused to my spine ,my entire spine was very misaligned and crooked and now I could clearly see the reason why my body wasn't functioning the way it was suppose to. Dr Manago told me his method of treatment will help my body heal itself in a natural way. I started my treatment and each session took around 20min or so (including 10min disk table)very quick and easy. By Feb 2015 I lost 10lb without changing my diet or exercise routine, I couldn't believe how much healthier I got in only 4months! He was right my body stared functioning much better I was extremely happy with my results. He took the second X-ray in Feb2015 and compared it to my original one! What a difference wow my spine was getting aligned and way more straight, the results were fantastic. In this past 2.5yr I've injured my back 3 times and I learned some great lessons... first injury in early 2016 I was in NorCal on a work trip for a month when I hurt my back and I had no choice but to see a "regular" chiropractor and by that I mean the ones that crack your back and neck...my pain did not get any better actually got worse after two weeks and 6 cracking treatment, I was in a lot of pain so as soon as I came home I went to see Dr. Manago. At this time my pain was intolerable but In only 3 sessions Dr Manago got me back to normal like this injury never even happened ! The results of only one week of treatment with Dr Manago was unbelievable. I was suffering for over a month and he healed my back in 3 sessions. In NorCal I paid for for 6 cracking sessions that basically did nothing even made it worse! This was the first time I injured myself since I started my treatment with Dr Manago and witnessed the true difference between his light force adjustment method vs whatever the other kind is called I assume cracking adjustment =) My second injury happened at the gym late 2016 it was pretty bad I couldn't walk straight I was in so much pain but again in 3 sessions I was completely back to normal. I injured my back again few weeks ago :/ Again this time took only one session to get back to normal. I am extremely healthy today thanks to Dr Manago. Every time I hurt my back I immediately feel the effects on my entire body from headaches, digestive issues neck pain and more. I now truly understand how important it is to have a healthy spine. Dr.Manago is great at what he does and the result of his work seems to be worth every penny by the experiences of some of my friends who have been his patient for a long time. However, if you do not have about $3800 to spend on your first year (about 3 visits per week and for a stage II patient), do not spend the first two $65 he will charge to let you know that it is going to cost you more than 3K just for the first year. If you think a used car sales person is the worst sales person to deal with then you have not met Dr.Manago! He will try to guilt you about your "decision" to ignore your health issues and pressures you to ask your family members and loved ones to pitch-in with their credit cards to pay the costs of his treatment. During the first 3 sessions, he will take a long time lecturing you and quizzing you on what he wants you to believe. Which was super lame btw! He will avoid talking about the costs or telling you about your insurance and how it won't cover more than about $300 out of $3800 you will have to spend towards your copay. he will make a simple comment about your insurance every time you ask him and leads you to feel as if it will be covered or is not a source of worry. During the 4th visit he will break the news to you and make it look like he is giving you tens of free visits and saving you money. I'm a college student with a really high GPA and therefore I'm definitely a great listener. Also, I'm too poor to not listen in carefully when someone is talking about how much something will cost me. He never mentioned my copay amount and how I'll have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket before insurance pays anything. Now of course he claims that " I did mention that the two $65 will go towards your copay, you prob just didn't understand me" In fact his assistant did say something about insurance paying after copay but when I asked for clarification, she would not repeat herself and called the doctor to come and explain it to me again and he told me about everything but copay. I thought about asking him for my money back but then I felt bad for him. If he is so needy that he has to spend about 5-6 hours of his time to try to score a student's money he must really need it. it's kind of like how I feel towards my dog; if he begs for a bite of my food with all his being then he deserves it more than I do and I shouldn't keep it from him. I'll consider it a donation. If you have this kind of money and do not mind working with someone who easily lies about things I recommend his treatment. if you don't, the initial visits will just be a waste of $130 although they do include two adjustments. Two adjustments won't really resolve any issues so save your money until you can actually afford his care. The one star is for his quality of work and the stars he did not get are for his lack of work ethics and integrity. read more

I have been going to Manago Chiropractic since September now and have really noticed a difference. I was a little skeptical at first, but over time my spine has really gotten better. Everyone who works there seems very knowledgable about the treatment used. after viewing my second X-rays compared to the first X-rays taken in September, my spine looks so much better. Unfortunately my hips are crooked so Dr. Manago suggested that I have leg X-rays. I was happy to find out that he even had a solution for my hip problems and after putting a lift in my shoe from Manago Chiropractic, I have no more pain in my hips (popping and shooting pain all the way down to my knees) and the correction of my spine is speeding up. read more

First I have written this based on my own experiences, then I started to read other 1 star graders and to my dismay- found out a lot of very similar experiences, in actions and words! Felt wrong from the start, I arrived there not to be treated as I thought but educated by a Dr. Manago that was shaming me because of my pain, during my initial tests and making me go through X-rays he was pushing me into admitting that I had something wrong with me .Wait, genius, I knew that ! When he was pressing hard to see whether I felt pain, I did not , he insisted that I do not know, as he puts it : if you don't know that means it is". I told him when he pressed his hands onto various parts of my body , I felt pain from that pressure and not the tightness or pain from my back, he insisted that I have high tolerance to pain since I am from different country. What?? I have discovered that I had "unusually' different sizes' of my hands, arms, 'uneven feet.' etc All I wanted him to help me with this back problem. I got "education? on which he was schooling me as I was 5 year old. I paid $25.00 for this visit, thanks to my friend who brought me there. in the next few days I went to my first treatment, aka my adjustment .I thought OK, today I am going to be pain free. it took me 45 minutes to drive. Again, I was schooled and he was asking me whether i remembered terminology during my first visit. I could not remember and he became angry. He made me feel small and idiotic because I could not remembered technical word for a pinched nerve. Then I finally was on a table. Dr. did not touched me at all, but placed a pencil like device that had 6 ounces of pressure, meaning, I did not feel it at all, under my ear lobe with and told me that it took 90 seconds to fix this "dangerous " neck , back, and whole body "problem". I am an open minded person, but after paying $64 ?? why 64 dollars for visit 1 and ran away as fast as possible, thinking why this guy is not in jail. What a quackery, scam this is. Later, I did a research on him, I find out he belonged to a Scientology cult where most Chiropractics are into especially in Mission Viejo, CA. I asked how much for these adjustments, he said after 4 th time he will tell me and will make a plan for me and he wants money upfront. No doctor , I a am not fallen for this crap. I feel sorry for my $89.00 as I was taken for a fool. Most Yelp people are all cult followers and they all believe in this. I called again, to speak to Dr. Manago,and wanted to find out more about this Light Force Therapy the other doctor who works there told me that he cannot explain this method himself and I need to speak directly to Dr. Manago. RUN!!!!!!! Needless to say, there are documents written that Doctor was numerously sued by patients and forbidden by Chiropractic Board to use shaman like things and devices scam and manipulate people. read more

I was treated by Dr. Manago's office for a chronic back problem. Whether the methods seem odd or silly is of no importance, because the results are real, consistent and extraordinary. You're shooting yourself in the foot if you don't give it the time the doctor says is necessary because it does take time. While I was being treated, I was able to talk to countless number of his patients who had long been given up on by their traditional doctors who now found relief. My neighbor referred me, an elderly man who had chronic neck pain due to an accident in 1951, and since then, had never found a doctor, a surgery, a therapy that helped him, until he was treated by Dr. Manago. I heard many of these stories. Not all his patients are older, I saw a range from young to old. I personally didn't care for Dr. Manago's personality which I found stiff, intense, and and robot-like. I didn't like how, after the initial diagnosis, how he shuffled me in to the 'finance' office, a salesperson really. I felt like I was in a high pressure car dealer's finance office. I don't know what his operating costs are, but his fees are excessive regardless. I did go through with it and over several months, found total relief, the pain of which has never recurred. The doctor that treated me most of the time when at Dr. Manago's was Dr. Raz, who has since left and now has his own practice, Alicia Chiropractic in Lake Forest. I found him much more pleasant and real than Dr. Manago and his fees are much less expensive, in line with what you might expect to pay for a chiropractic visit elsewhere. read more

My husband and I received care for our backs and necks with Manago Chiropractic for over a year. My husband had insisted we try it because I had had several issues with my back for years and it was always on the fringe of going out. I have been seeing Dr Manago for about 3 or 4 years now. He has succeeded in getting me pain free since my very first visit. Before that time my back would go out every three months and lay me up for up to two weeks. I was in constant pain and where my previous chiropractor was good I still was having chronic pain. I knew I had to do something and then I met Dr Manago and decided to give him a try and now my back no longer goes out every three months and I am pain free 99% of the time. I was introduced to Dr. Manago and his team after living with constant lower back pain for over two years from a bulging disc caused by an injury while exercising. Their approach seemed a bit strange at first given that I had previously been to a number of other chiropractors during that time with more traditional (and mostly unsuccessful) methods. After 6 weeks of visits I saw (in the X-ray) and felt a dramatic improvement. My visits have been trimmed from 3 times a week at the outset to now once every 4 months and I've been able to maintain the correction and live my life without the shadow of the virtually constant pain hanging over me. I don't know Dr. Manago personally, but in reply to the assertion that the Toftness device is a fraud and the "factual article" on quackwatch.com - I can't begin to address this. The author of this article, who has written the book about chiropractic "victims" is a paid AMA shill. The device was recalled by the FDA, that is true, but it was after decades of litigation and the intent to steal and use the technology for medical purposes, then hidden or destroyed. The witch hunt against Dr. I N Toftness was started in the 1950s and finally they seized the instrument in 1984. How can they call anything "hocus pocus" when most medical procedures are experimental and dangerous. The TRD does not put anything in the body, it is not a treatment, it identifies nerve pressure and helps refine a directed light force adjustment. The FDA has approved thalidomide, aspartame, prozac, statins, GMOs and thousands of damaging drugs that are far beyond "hocus pocus". I went to Dr. Manago after I got into a car accident. He made me go every day after work & told me I had to go every day for about 6months. Then he told me since my daughter was the accident she needed to get treated. My daughter was only two at the time which I though this is weird. The treatment he uses is a complete joke! My back is not doing any better in fact it is doing worse since I had this done. My husband the same situation he has a lot of back pain. I went to Dr. Manago after my mother had a bad auto accident and injured her hip. She couldn't walk without a limp and he corrected it. I thought I would give him a try as I had been experiencing bad lower back pain for a couple of years when I jogged and was at the point where I couldn't run. He x-ray'ed me and put me on a program. I received a complementary consultation with Dr. Manago. I was first seen by his associate. He was charismatic but firm that I must have $20.00 X-Rays to be complete. I have recent X-Rays and I brought them to the 2nd consult. I was greeted by Dr. Manago. He assured me that he was not a bone crunching chiropractor. I was amiss as I do not refer to Chiropractors as 'Bone Crunchers'. He explained his method of treatment with some device that so calls detects heat and with 6oz of pressure holding the misalignment till the heat subsided, for seconds. I listened, yet he felt I was not convinced. I said we can agree to disagree. That's okay. I offered to be treated 2x and if it was suitable for me I would agree to X-Ray exposure and continue treatment. He then told me straight out that I would not know in 2 treatments. We discussed pain, no change and it would take time, yet REALLY, after visiting his office most of his patients were geriatric not young and active. I decided to compare this to my son's recent back injury speaking in general terms about recovery. He than straight out said 'He will never be normal again via orthopedic care.' He also called me an extreme athlete. Referring that I had a high tolerance for pain and the 'drugs' that are in my body. I was uncertain what he meant by 'drugs' in my body (I rarely take Tylenol.) I asked him straight out what he meant. He said drugs was the epinephrine in my body. (really) I'm lucky if I get an 3-5 hours a week of cardio. Keeping my heart rate at 120-130bpm. That's an extreme athlete in his eyes. He then said OK, I'll treat you 2x, then you will do the X-Rays? Seeing firsthand that our belief of orthopedic, sports and chiropractors are not alike, I thanked him, picked up my X-Rays thanked the receptionist and left. read more

I came to Dr. Manago after a severe car accident in which I was T-boned. Immediately following the incident I had chronic lower back pain. I was referred from a friend and went to his office. Initially my experience was positive. His assistant assessed me and he was friendly and welcoming. Everything seemed to be decent but he continued to refer to a device in which they could tell exactly how badly my back was hurt. I, too, asked what it was and he quickly changed the subject. This was my first clue that something was off. I went in for my second visit and met Dr. Manago. He was also very friendly and welcoming. He explained that he did not do physical adjustments but used a device that could detect pulses from my injury telling him exactly where and how injured I was. After this he would use "6 ounces of pressure" that would slowly push my back into alignment. It all sounded ok until he used the device. It was literally a piece of plastic that he poured baby powder onto. He then places this piece of plastic above my back and rubs his index finger across. The amount of times it "squeeled" equaled the extent of my injury. I was out of there. He later called me spending a great deal of energy pressuring me to come back. That I had a severe energy and the longer I waited for the treatment the worse it would get. He was no longer friendly. I will never go back. Beware! read more

Have been a patient with Manago Chiropractic for over 25 years! I originally came in with my neck and back out of alignment, and I was in a lot of pain. My work was stressful, which added to the difficulties. Dr. Manago had been recommended by a friend. I liked the idea that his method was different and didn't use the "crack your back" method, which I found never took care of the problem. With his light force method, it is a gentle realignment of key trigger points at the neck and back. It took me some months to get my back into alignment, and then I would only go in twice a year for maintenance. He has gotten me through two fender bender accidents. One 20 years ago and one this summer. I am back to my maintenance routine again. I have stayed with Manago Chiropractic all these years because it works!
