Between the poor quality of meat, sparse sides and poor service, Breakers was an absolute disappointment. I was thrilled, since this was the first time two members of our party had tried KBBQ. Usually the servers will explain to you the rundown for newcomers (such as how long it takes to cook meats, the concept of cooking it yourself, and so on.) but this was not the case. The emptiness of the place should have been our tip off. I'm used to seeing individual banchans per person: but at Breakers, you'll get six for your whole party -- and that includes one piece of broccoli split three ways. You can ask for more, but it seemed that our waitress was reluctant to bring food out (mind you, we had opted for the all-you-can-eat service.) We did not give reason for her to think that we were ordering in excess, or that we'd leave any food behind. We placed four orders of meat to start off our meal: we didn't receive half of them. No problem, we asked for them once more. They didn't come out until 20 mins later and when they did, I was astonished at how old some of these cuts were. My husband and I went here on 10/10/24 and I can't remember our server (she had tattoos and piercings and is a a young woman) but we enjoyed our experience there and loved how informational and welcoming our server was. We were with our 2 young girls and love Korean bbq and now that we know we don't have to drive to centreville for kbbq we will be making this place our go to whenever we are in town. It's been since spring that my wife, my parents, and myself have been to Breakers. When it came time to plan a dinner to celebrate my parent's 50th Anniversary, I decided to book a reservation at Breakers due our past experience. I completely recommend Breakers to anyone looking for Korean BBQ or looking to have dinner in a great atmosphere. During dinner tonight, I found out management had changed shortly after our last visit. Breakers before was good and I'll say with the change of management Breakers has become even better. The meats were more favorable, new side options, and the manager herself attended to my family personally. Throughout the evening, the manager provided recommendations to make our meal more pleasurable. It was the little things such as grilling the Kimchi to take the flavor to the next level. One of the servers apologized if there was a lack in service as there were only two servers working. My family and I couldn't tell because we were constantly checked on, refills were done when drinks were half way empty, and the meats and sides kept coming out upon request. My husband and I recently came here on a date night. The food was absolutely delicious! We got the all-you-can eat dinner, as to us, it seemed more economical to get than to order individual meat dishes separately. My favorite was the bulgogi steak, which was lightly marinated, and my husband's favorite was the spicy pork (he said it wasn't too spicy, though the day before he had ghost pepper hot sauce, so take that with a grain of salt). The service was really good. They helped teach us how to cook the meat and what food went well with the different kinds of sauces. We were there for a date night and they gave us an amazing homemade sangria champagne. The sangria cut the acidity of the champagne in just the right way. They also had live music when we were there (a saxophone player), which made the ambiance seem really special and romantic. When there isn't live music, there's a big screen with music videos playing behind a small stage. The restaurant itself was very clean and decorated in a modern style. If you eat here and have any questions or concerns I suggest you talk with a Manager. I had my frown turned upside down and my 1 star review became 5! I wanted a specific dish that they didn't have. Then I was looking for a specific seafood dish, but they didn't have the right ingredients. After talking to Marcie, the Manager, the kitchen was able to make the original dish and they are adding it to their menu options. We talked a bit and I provided some tips on their menu and wording that actually steered us away from the all you can eat bbq. I honestly would have eaten all you can eat if my wife didn't also have to get all you can eat (but she doesn't eat very much). The quality of the meat is really high and the marinate isn't super sweet or sticky - just like it really should be! The bulgogi didn't have gristle and binders like many places have. The light marinade; best choice for a high quality meat that has actual flavor. The personal touch - getting to know the Manager and her husband means a lot. "Breakers Korean BBQ" has been in the Manassas Mall for a while and I'm sorry that I have just experienced it. The service was prompt, courteous & friendly.
