Lume Asian Fusion had excellent service and good flavors, but the value was mixed for dinner. We were seated promptly and attended to quickly, and our server, possibly Tracy, did a great job. The dining room felt clean and modern, with a nice table setup, a bar, soft lighting, and low music that made the evening enjoyable. My wife ordered the bulgogi ramen, and I had the salmon poke bowl. Both tasted good, but the portions were much smaller than expected for the $17 to $18 price range. I did notice afterward that these items are listed as "light fare," so smaller portions may be intentional. Still, for dinner, they felt closer to side-dish portions than a satisfying meal. The ramen noodles also had more of an instant-style texture, which did not match the fresh-made impression. Overall, great service and decent food, but I would order more carefully next time and not expect the light fare items to be full dinner portions. read more

Wow! Discovering Lume was one of the highlights of my year. This restaurant is exceptional and has hit a home run in my book from the food, service, and ambience. Staff was accommodating to my mango allergy and was able to sub out the mango in the Tuna Poke. I must admit that I was skeptical ordering the Kalbi Platter as I've only really have had kalbi at KBBQ restaurants though it didn't disappoint at all. The flavor was comparable to KBBQ joints and the side of kimchi was a nice addition. Espresso martinis are my favorite drink, so naturally I was so excited to try the Viet Tini Drip that I nearly finished it in one gulp. I'm not sure what we did to deserve an Alpine Crisp on the house as we weren't celebrating anything though appreciated the surprise beverage and kind gesture; it was refreshing and would order it again. While I rarely visit the same restaurant, I'm looking forward to visiting more in the upcoming year. I highly recommend Lume to anyone who has not yet visited. No complaints here. It's a nice cozy place, quite and charming decor. Clean and inviting. The server is gentle spoken and sweet. I ordered a Tuna poke bowl extra spicy. It's okay for my taste . It's personally too rich for my taste but their ingredients are top notch. Fresh tuna,mango and avocado . For me personally is too much mayo too creamy . They tout themselves as Asian fusion and they're definitely a weird mixture of different asian cuisines. None of them really authentic. They've got Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese and everywhere else in East Asia. It was just okay, and maybe good for Manassas but for NoVa there are way better places than this one. If you want good Asian food (any), you can drive the extra 15-20mins to Centerville. There were 5 of us and each of us got different dishes. I got the spicy pork belly ramen, it was quite salty and oily. Others got the bulgogi fries, lettuce wraps, pork belly platter and jap chae. All of them were a little too salty for our liking. They're not very crowded and can accommodate large groups and small, with a bar on the side. Service was nice and people were great. The 2 stars are for the people working. Aside from the gorgeous decor, high ceilings, and lovely choice of glassware, the drinks and food were delicious. Drinks - I could have ordered every single cocktail. I loved the viet drip tini. If you're a lychee lover, get their martini. It was sweet and the lychee garnish topped it for me. I had to get the mango green tea - the popping passion fruit pearls were so yummy and it was a great balance of mango with green tea. My husband really enjoyed the Kaiju as there were many layers of flavor, as well as the red dragon. Also all the bartenders were really sweet and attentive. Food - the dishes really brought out a blend of Asian fusion flavors. We started with the bao buns with pork belly and I thought it had a subtle Korean flavor. We also got the spring rolls which were really good. I enjoyed the poke burrito, which had a generous amount of delicious sesame soy tuna. The salad dressing was an elevated ginger flavor, similar to what you'd have at a sushi restaurant. My husband doesn't usually choose poke bowls but the salmon was calling him. Despite being short staffed and having to send my entree back because the chicken wasn't cooked through, this place is great. Most people would be dissuaded from returning but I'm looking forward to next time I visit. Here's why: Lume is located on a corner and the decor is super cute and gives modern vibes. We were told it was a 30 minute wait on a Sunday around 1pm but then realized we could sit at the bar and order food from there (the bar is first come, first served). There was one bartender and she quickly acknowledged us and got us drinks. The menu has lots to offer, so for an appetizer we had the K-Wings, which are 7 Korean (double fried) wings with gochujang sauce. They were excellent, 10/10. Highly recommend. It's good we got an app because the kitchen was really backed up and our food took a while to come out. I ordered japchae, a Korean noodle dish, with chicken and my companion had the bulgogi rice bowl. Both entrees came out at the same time but I, unfortunately, had to send mine back because the chicken wasn't cooked through. I let our bartender know and she immediately informed the manager, who profusely apologized. I had a new entree five minutes later. The japchae had a good taste and plenty of veggies, though they were a little crunchy. The bulgogi rice bowl was colorful, had lots of fixings, and was full of flavor. Overall, we had a great experience and staff was friendly. Kudos to them for keeping up. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and I think it was busier than normal due to a nearby street festival. My wife and I tried this place for the first time last night. First impressions, the staff were friendly and attentive. Andrew, our server, was very helpful in suggesting choices for us. Especially after we told him it was our first time there. The overall atmosphere was nice. Music was not too loud, but loud enough it could be heard over the din of the dining area. The place seems nice and open and clean. Now I have to admit, I am a picky eater. I don't like seafood, I don't like vegetables. But I didn't want to just "play it safe" and go for the burger sliders, or other safe picks from the menu. I did the Chicken Gyoza, which are like chicken pot-stickers, with roasted onions and roasted green onions, served in what seemed to be a soy-sauce. It was incredibly tasty! My wife got the Salmon Poke which she said was really good. She wasn't thrilled about the mango at first, but was pleasantly surprised. She said it doesn't sound like it should go well with the other ingredients, but it did. I love the vibes and even snapped some pictures of the interior for some home design into. We checked out this restaurant for the first time and enjoyed it! We love Old Town Manassas, so when we heard about some new places opening, we knew we had to go and see what the type was about. The food was really good and fresh, although the appetizer and meals could have used more sauce. My brother was given the option of sauce for his meal and chose one, but I think it ended up coming with mine. We all tried the sauce and liked it, but wondered why each meal didn't come with it's own sauce pairing/choice. When we got the bill, it was weird to us that we were also given an uncharge for sauce. It makes sense for more of a fast-casual/takeout place, but not for a restaurant like this that is more upscale? I really enjoyed the poke nachos and poke burrito, regardless, and loved the ginger on the nachos. The service started strong but got a bit slow where we really didn't get checked on once our food came until we were finally ready for the bill. My husband was going to ask about getting some additional things, but opted not to since we had finished eating by the time our server came back. My wife and I met friends for dinner on an early Sunday evening. Looking for a new place, we decided on Lume Asian Fusion in Manassas. Lume is a very nice Restaurant located in Old Town Manassas. We entered and were shown to a table by a friendly hostess. Our server was promptly at our table, and took our drink orders. My wife had the Tsai Snow Maiden Sake. She enjoyed it very much, but it came in a larger bottle than Sake is usually presented in. It was also room temperature and not warmed, however that was not a problem, just a difference. I had a cocktail called Lime Punch. This drink was heavenly, at least to my taste. It featured Rum, bleu curacao, pineapple juice and a few other yummies, with boba pearls for further interest. To me it was scary good. Aa an appetizer we ordered the K-Wings. Very tasty, though a bit spicy for me. I would heartily recommend them. For dinner, my wife had Jap-Chae (Korean Glass Noodles). She said it was good. Not the best she had ever had, but something she would probably order again. I ordered the Rice Bowl with spicy chicken. it comes with cucumber, pickled radish and red onion, kimchi, and a fried egg. It was excellent, one those meals that you are sad after you take the last bite because it is all gone. I would order it again and often. The restaurant itself is very clean and very open, with its high ceilings and tables and chairs instead of booths. The bar is along almost one whole side of the restaurant, and has a large and very interesting structure against the wall behind the bar that holds bottles and a large TV screen. The restrooms are also something to behold. I can only speak about the men's room, but it more than just immaculately clean. It had very nice wallpaper, and beautiful light fixtures around the mirror. I always visit the restrooms in every restaurant I review, and seldomly do I take pictures. But this restroom was stunning. Everyone working there was interested in making our visit memorable. Lume Asian Fusion is a restaurant that I would highly recommend paying a visit to. My wife and I will be back. I debated between 3 and 4 stars for this review. In the end, the 4 stars won because I would rate this restaurant a "definite try". My daughter was here with her husband a few weeks ago, and she raved about the food. She wasn't wrong. We had edamame, chicken dumplings, spring rolls, poke nachos, and a combo platter. The combo platter was outstanding. The flavor was amazing, and the short ribs and pork belly were cooked perfectly. The poke was good but I was disappointed in the portion size. There were a ton of wontons, but relatively little topping. The spring rolls and dumplings were good, but the edamame was slightly underdone and watery. I'd rate a 5 for flavor overall, but a 3 for portion balance and soggy underdone edamame. The atmosphere was lovely. The location in old town was delightful. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed sitting outside. And now the service - we were greeted and sat promptly, and our server was attentive. The problem was that none of the wait staff seemed particularly well-trained. We had to get our own plates, cutlery, etc., and it seemed like there was a lack of awareness on the 'basics'. I do not blame the servers, as it seemed more of a training issue than one of competence. Lume for the WIN!!! My husband , kids, and I are visiting from Philly to see family. We were able to squeeze in a late date night and Lume was our choice. We ended up going later around 9:30pm they stay open till 2am which is a plus especially on the weekends. The place isn't that big but the ambiance and decor was really nice. We were greeted immediately upon entering and decided to sit at the bar. I ordered a drink from the summer menu which was the island drifter and my husband ordered off the main menu both white and red sangria. I enjoyed his drinks more than mine. I felt the island drifter I had, the mint and lime were very over powering but it was ok. We ordered the mango shrimp cocktail and it was VERY DELICIOUS. The flavor was really good and the fried wontons was the perfect pairing with it. We decided for entree's to get the Combo platter and Kalbi platter which were both delicious. The only thing I would change is adding more kimchi for the side, but that's just my preference. Of course we needed something sweet so we decided on the canoli Bao Buns which is on the regular menu but the strawberry cheesecake we ordered was on the summer menu only. Went to Lume this evening for some drinks and snackie with a girlfriend and wow; what a time to be alive. This is exactly what Old Town Manassas needed. There some great restaurants in town but there is nothing like Lume. They recently opened but I never would have guessed based on the beautiful space, the attention to detail, the excellent service, and the amazing menu. My friend and I each had 3 cocktails because the cocktail menu was so amazing. Their twist on an espresso martini was so delicious and beautiful, their version of an aperol sprite was so refreshing in the hot hot weather, and the white sangria was extra yummy. There were so many other delicious cocktails that I can't wait to go back and try, and each cocktail was carefully crafted to make a statement. They were like better than Black Sheep cocktails. So, we recently hit up this new spot in Old Town Manassas called Lume Asian Fusion, and let me tell you, it's got a lot of potential. We rolled in with a party of five on a Thursday night, and despite the cozy size of the place, they managed to fit us in comfortably. Food: Ahi Poke Bowl: The star of the night! The ahi tuna was light, fresh, and had just the right hint of sesame. Absolutely delicious. Kimche Quesadilla: A tasty fusion dish with a nice balance of flavors. Definitely a winner. Five Spice Shrimp: Nice flavor, though we felt the spices could pop a bit more. Still enjoyable! Bulgogi Bowl: Tender and flavorful beef, perfectly paired with the rice and veggies. A comforting and satisfying dish. Kalbi Beef Ribs: Juicy and well-marinated, these ribs were a delight to eat. Edamame: A great starter, cooked just right. Nothing fancy, but satisfying. K-Wings: Full of flavor with a delicious sauce, though they could have used about 45 more seconds in the fryer. Still tasty though! We were kinda bummed they were out of the spring rolls and chicken gyoza, especially since it was only their third day open. But hey, what we did get was pretty good. Drinks: Viet Drip Tini: A playful alcoholic twist on Vietnamese café suda--refreshing and delightful. Mango Green Tea with Passion Fruit and Vodka: Unique and tasty, paired perfectly with our meal. Red Dragon: Interesting flavor profile (in a good way) and definitely enjoyable. Service: The service was top-notch. The staff was super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of all night. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We ordered both pork belly and kalbi bao buns; they were sooo good! Definitely recommend! The also tried the BTS bulgogi omelette...we both agreed that bulgogi and omelette is not the best match. Good apart but not together. Also tried the k-chicken and waffle. Again, apart they taste great but not together. I feel like the concept of chicken and waffles is the mix of salty and sweet but the k-chicken was doubled fried with a sweet Korean sauce so sweet and sweet just wasn't what we were expecting. The decor is very mid-century. It is a pretty little restaurant. We had no problem getting a table without a reservation, but most tables were full as well as the bar. We ordered the spring rolls, with the delicious, sweet and spicy sauce followed by three bulgogi rice bowls. These were very tasty, but I would recommend they consider adding pickled cucumbers as it would add a nice tangy element to complement the kimchi. We enjoyed our experience and would come back another time to try out other items on the menu. read more
